I did not watch the game yesterday.

By the way, i think Rodgers has over achieved this season and people are not being understanding of the situation of things.

He sold his best defender (Maguire) and turned his bench defender to one of the best defenders in the EPL.

Took a retired English international and Vardy won the golden boot.

He did not make any major transfer and competed with the big boys for the Champions League position.

Losing to Manchester United should not be a criteria for running him down.

Rodgers has over achieved this season and deserves praise than ridicule. With the likes of Albrighton, Barnes, Gray, Perez, Praet, Nacho, Ndidi and others.

Keep in mind he has improved Maddison from a Championship player to a toast of English football.

If that is not genius, please tell me what is.

cc:BascoVanVeli, Danielnino00 and Melvinity.

He didn't over achieve.. Leicester have the best squad outside of the big 6 clubs... And given the fact that Man Utd, Chelsea,Spurs and Arsenal were in very poor forms at the start of the season, Leicester had the opportunity to take over the top,and they did so for a while..

It isn't today that Rodgers started bottling things... He is the kind of coach that doesn't seem to learn.. in my opinion, geniuses don't make the same mistakes over and over again..

Is it Rodgers fault?

Just look at.

Rodgers did well with an average team and you are praising Mourinho for struggling with a quality team.

Mbok, forget abowrit.

At a point no one would care what point they were before, you take us within touching distance to the moon and you send us crashing all the way down.

Leicester City before their famous EPL triumph were only expected to be a good enough side to remain EPL regulars, bit they did the unbelievable, they won the league, the following season, they struggled and they were where they most probably should, but, the management were having none of it, Ranieri was fired, they've had a taste of honey, they don't want anything else.

Guys, and ladies. Look at what I found out of casual browsing on the Naija footballers FB page.

Even "Naijafootballers" copied my own content verbatim without giving due credit. Claimed it was compiled by a greatziad on Facebook. Na wa!

The last time this happened many weeks ago, it was a twitter football account. Now it is Naijafootballers.

I know this for a fact: This Greatziad guy (yep, it's a He) visits this thread, copied everything word for word and claims it as his own.
And the most interesting part is I think I know exactly who that moniker is.

I will give that moniker time to see this post and respond or else I will reveal the moniker myself. And dont think you can deny it coz it's so obvious. You couldn't even hide your name.

Now to this moniker, I wanna just say this:
The least you should have done is to attach the real source of your info. It's not cool taking someone's post and running with it as yours. It's absolutely rubbish and speaks volumes of your own lack of original information search. I bring out a little precious time to put these kind of info together thanks to notifications I set up myself on my gadgets just for the passion of following as many of our lads as possible across Europe and the rest of the world.
You should have acknowledged the true source. What you did was very ungentlemanly and cheap plagiarism.

Now, I have good respect for Naijafootballers and what they do. Infact I am looking forward to their video special on Osimhen's "Back to the beginning" story but this is not cool. Probably not even their fault b'cos the greatzaid guy made them believe it is his compilation. That wasn't so great at all. Nothing Great about claiming someone else's originality.

I don't think you can copyright a post from a public forum. I think they have a right to use your material without permission.

I stand firmly with what Odegbami is saying. You cant tell me out of all qualified Nigerians coaches and the rest of qualified persons from other African countries we cant find a coach from the continent who understands our football mentality. Its high time we stop giving these Europeans chances to ridicule us. Slavery is over yet we are still hiring these white men thinking they have some magic wand.

NFA should also give scholarships to interested retired super eagles player as a reward for their service. We need to invest in our football because even if a black man is the smartest coach the whites will never employ him , simply because they feel you are inferior to them.

I agree!!

There's nothing Rohr has achieved that some of our local coaches haven't, in fact, Rohr is only playing catch up.

That was how we wasted money in bringing in Berti Vogt and Lagerback and they were all $hit.

How come Mourinho with a better team and star players finished below Rodgers?

TheGoodJoe:

Mourinho as Leicester city coach will not perform close to what Rodgers did.

I don't believe so, man. Mourinho took over Spurs at 14th place to 6th.

Since taking over, only LFC, MCFC and MUFC have won more points, scored more goals and conceded less(except wolves).

Brendan over achieved but the team's capitulation was down to his poor management.

Agreed with some of your points but have some reservations
In your preposition you said there is nothing rohr has achieved that some of local coaches haven't achieve you have a point though but there are some reservations about it ...most of local coach we have employed in the past lacks transparency and accountability most of this local coaches ruin the career of many of our youngster just because they are agents to these players and want to be rewarded handsomely not considering how bad the moves can affect the players ...
Another issue is godfatherism if you will agree with me most of the local coaches have godfather that were instrumental in their appointment these godfather influence the player selection of the team and it is not good for our football sometimes football is not always about winning trophy (though it the major aim for every team to win a trophy ) in guardiola first two season he didn't even a spoon not to talk of a cup but he put some protocol in place that even if guardiola leaves man city today any manger that takes his place will still continue in that good form .but when keshi left how many keshi players is still in the SE till date, 60 percent of his players career died alongside with him. Am not in support of any local coaches for now but I can bid for the likes of emanalo in the future .

Well Odegbami is entitled to his opinion but let’s really ask this question, what current Nigerian coach is out there that can take up the Super Eagles coach job? Lets imagine we don’t qualify for Afcon or we perform woefully in it and Rohr is sacked or resignes

As I have said before, to me only Amuneke has the qualification and experience to be considered out of all the Nigeria coaches out there

Frankly speaking, I dont see anything so special about Rohr. Just look at the abundant talents he is spoiled with , yet nothing encouraging from the man. None of our local coaches ever had this much quality of players in recent times, yet they have performed much better than this overrated Franco-German.

This man took a star studded team to the nations cup and achieved zilch. I feel like the only reason the man is still out coach is simply because he is white. Rohr's tactical ability is questionable with the way super eagles have played. If Siasia with his attacking style of tactics handle this current super eagles it will turn into festivals of goals.

Try Finidi , Amunike , Siasia (when he is through with his mess),Emenalo and even the new one, Ndubisi Egbo. Then send those willing to go to school, especially NPFL veterans like Victor Ezeji etc. abroad to get more education and exposure. We need to invest in our products

Lol... You think they have a right? grin

Do you think I am not aware of Nairaland's lack of copyright infringement rules? I am not talking Copyright here. I am TALKING PLAGIARISM. They are two different things with similar direction in discussion. One covers the moral aspect, the other the legal aspect.

Let me ask you 2 things.

- What moral right does anyone have to take someone else's work WITHOUT HIS/HER PERMISSION and pass it off as his/hers?

- And also do you support PLAGIARISM? Coz it almost sounds like you do by the way you deem it fine to have one take one's work without permission since they are no LEGAL BOUNDS against that.

This is not about the legal aspect of information ownership. This is about the moral/ethical aspect and that is why it is called plagiarism. So don't tell me about rights. Afterall, in some countries it is also right LEGALLY for a man to marry a man or a woman to marry a woman. Something frowned upon so strongly in this part of the world.

So if we wanna base our human values and thinking on only what is LEGAL or the absence of a legal block, then I am certain you will have no problem then with, for instance, "giving up 99% of your entire salary and all kinds of earnings to your state of habitation every month for the rest of your life if the government pass it into law and make it LEGAL". Of course , corruption is a problem not just with our football but also with administration of the government. But , in spite of the challenges we were still able to churn our mad talents over the years. Iheanacho , Osimhen , Chukwueze , Nwakali , Azeeze , Ndidi , Awaziem , Omeruo etc were talents put out by the same corrupt football system. So, lets not use the facts we have a problems in the system and throw the baby away with bad water. Corruption and godfatherism is not enough reason to lose hope in our coaches, rather it should awaken us to the challenges facing the development of our football.

I disagree with this point
There is no difference between the era of rohr and other local coaches Nigeria is always blessed with talents and moreover which talent are you talking about lemme give you some of this players throwback
Kalu-Genk(Belgium)
Moses (Belgium) .
Victor a bench warmer in Chelsea
Osihmen Wolfsburg team b
Chuks Villarreal B
Ndidi - Belgian club
Ekong one small club in eredivise
Balogun - bench warmer in Mainz
Then we had no goalkeeper
Rohr work hard tiredness to make such these players achieve their full potential by making it compulsory for the players to have regular playing time this actually ginger the player to be able for play very well just to earn national team invitations and this really expose the players to scout who saw their potential and moved them to Europe top 5 league it were a local coach in charge of SE osihmen would have been invited while in Wolfsburg and he won't really see the need to move to Belgium league but rohr make it compulsory for osihmen to move to Belgium now Napoli rohr policy really improve this player immensely I remember during the time of local coaches a player may not kick the ball for months and will still be invited is such invitation based on merit ?? Hell no !!!! Rome wasn't build in a day. Football is not just about trophy ( though it important ) but youth development is importanter .
I pray the sport ministry see the great future ahead of us I'm not tipping rohr to win the next afcon or get to the quarter final of the WC yet but if he should continue in this pattern am damn sure Nigeria will be contending for the world cup in the future .

I won't use the team they played for during WC cox there was preparation for the WC and 90% of the player that went to WC played in WCQ
Iwobi - arsenal prodigy ( still a bench warmer )
2 ndidi - Genk
Moses Chelsea bench warmer started playing when conte came
3.simmy he started the season as a bench warmer but was discovered by rohr after his glorious overhead kick
4. Ebuehi ado een hag

There are bunch of options available for him in Europe top 5 league but the stupid egunje that he will collect wont make him have the sense to call this players and 85% percent of these players plays in Europe top 15 league and if he had ensure their development that should have been playing in Europe top 5 league
Keshi has no excuse for his failure in the youth development of the team .
