mostob:Dont speak so soon, that's not the only qualification. Having a driving licence doesn't make you a great driver. Yobo is very knowledgeable on football, he has played at the highest level and under quality coaches. So he has an experiential competence that will in my opinion exceed many local coaches with badges gained locally. And finally how do you know he is not doing those badges so before you know it he has them. |

Blueelf:Aw does my assertion looks like comparison... And I knw say ur assimilation rate high ..y u kan dey reason like one popular moniker here...I only cleared d wrong notion mostob painted dt been a defensive player in ur career automatically means dt if such a player decided to pursue a career as a coach any team he handles will b a low scoring sideDt was y I brought in Guardiola as an example,dt he was DMF during his playing days, but as a coach ,all d teams he has handled scores a lot of goals... And if u don't understand dis simple analogy ,give ur phone to someone beside u to explain my position better..I Neva compared yobo with Guardiola ![]() |

The leading Nigerian-born goal contributor in the European top-flight leagues, Sadiq Umar has been valued at 20 million euros (approximately N10.5 billion) by Partizan Belgrade coach Savo Milosevic. The Rio Olympics bronze medalist racked up numbers too good to ignore in the 2019-2020 season, with a hand in 34 goals spread across 39 matches, including 25 in the Serbian Super Liga. Milosevic has stated that Partizan won't consider offers for the Nigerian less than 10 million euros. "Sadiq's real price at this moment, having in mind the player's profile, is higher than in the winter. Then I said we wouldn't let him go for less than 15 million euros, now I say it costs 20! " Milosevic was quoted as saying by Zurnal. "I'm not saying that we will be able to take that money, but we will not even consider offers under 10 million euros." The Serbian football tactician believes Sadiq will be worth between 40 and 50 million euros in the coming years. The 23-year-old was watched by the likes of Manchester United, Valencia, AC Milan and CSKA Moscow last season. |

@Team local i hail. . I share your pains. I would rather have a Nigerian coach our senior national team. For the same reason i want Ole to succeed at Man Utd. . I assume chelsea fans want the same for Lampard. It is what it is. Our coaches are not doing well. We wanna support our own, but as far as football is concerned the desire to win is higher. If a white man can deliver that, as much as i would like to hate the fact that he would be occupying a position i believe should be occupied by a local, i would take solace in the fact that he would get us trophies. My qualms about the hiring process is that those useless NFF usually end up hiring average foreign coaches. Perhaps the fact that we are not up there with those European/South American power houses means we can only settle for the average coaches. On the issue of finding a good coach across the continent, i would say it's not as easy as you make it seem. Most other African countries have the same problems. If there were good African coaches out there, it's very likely their countries would have hired them. So we are back to hiring our own. Your last two sentences are quite important in this journey towards self-reliance. I have always expected the NFF to be at the forefront of the actualization of such a mission. If you organize programs to help interested former players acquire the necessary basic technical coaching ability, i am sure lots of hopefuls will show up to participate. But because wetin those useless people wan chop they'll never embark on such projects. It seems they benefit more finacially from hiring foreign coaches than local coaches. Some will say this is unlikely cos the white man won't take such a thing. But the recent happenings have only reminded us that human behaviour is largely depedent on our environment. You give the whiteman the chance, he'll steal, defraud you, and take a bribe. Nigeria is a very sick nation honestly. Some serious shake up is needed. I tell you some people must be ready to sacrifice everything to cause that change. Sadly, although we want things to miraculously change for the better, most people won't come forward. We are mostly unpatriotic. Some will say there's no reason to be patriotic. ofcourse that's true. But i tell you the zeal, the unrelenting spirit, the unwavering desire to lay yourself down is exactly what this country needs. Nothing less. Such people are not made anymore. Sad story. Back to the subject matter. We are on the same page on what we need. But until we are ready for it, i am afraid we are stuck with white average coaches. IDENNAA: |

Bolowolowo:The Algerian squad we beat to qualify for the world cup was obviously more star studded than the one that won the AFCON... But see the end difference... Having a good squad is one thing, but having a manager that knows how to utilise players(either average or world class) at his disposal is everything! |

Joebie:Statistics are indicative and no conclusive. He has had a good game according to the statistics but it doesn't give points for the quality of goals scored. Somebody might just have the ball inadvertently bounced off his face, leg and even posterior. But all will be classed as the same. Finally, there was one stage in this game where he near the corner glad with three Cardiff players around him and he got the free kick from that foul. But it's not recorded in these statistics. |

How ex-Nigeria goalkeeper Egbo overcame racism to guide KF Tirana to Albanian league title glory Michael Madyira | 07/27/20 https://images.daznservices.com/di/library/GOAL/87/97/ismael-dunga-of-kf-tirana-and-kenya_qezysmflvmj41mb6qybq15ua7.jpg The former Super Eagles goalkeeper talks about how he wrote history in European football with the odds stacked against him KF Tirana coach Ndubuisi Egbo has likened winning the Albanian Superliga title to Barack Obama winning the American presidency since he also suffered racial abuse on the way to achieving the historical feat. The 47-year-old Nigerian became the first African head coach to guide a European team to a league title and is also set to be the first tactician from his continent to lead a team in the Uefa Champions League. But before Tirana were crowned Albanian champions for the first time in 11 years, Egbo - who is fluent in Albanian - said he had to endure racial abuse which he, however, did not allow to discourage him. “There are people who don't want me to win because of my colour. There is racism. One game they threw a banana at me. They spat at me,” Egbo told BBC Sport. “The officials of the Albanian FA did not do anything, because it was an away game and they had a white set of fans. The police and security were there - and nobody did anything. "They were afraid of the fans there. I couldn't do anything. I just had to accept it. “I said to them, 'have you finished'? They wanted the ground to open up for them to disappear.” After playing for Tirana as a goalkeeper between 2001 and 2004, Egbo rejoined the club as a goalkeeping coach in 2014. But he only assumed the head coach role midway through the just-ended campaign, in December 2019. It was a remarkable triumph for the Nigerian who took over the team when they stared relegation in the face and transformed them into champions. When he was appointed head coach, Tirana were 15 points off the leaders but went on to win 20 of the 23 remaining games on their way to the champions podium. “My fellow Africans said, 'you don't know what you've done for us by winning this championship'. It is just like when Obama won the Presidency in America. That's exactly how it is seen here,” added Egbo. The ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper also talked about the few opportunities for African coaches in Europe. “If you look at the English Premier League, you rarely see any dark-skinned coaches there. You have to go into the National League before you see that," Egbo continued. “I feel both joy and sadness. We are not given enough opportunities. We only want the same opportunities. It is just like what Black Lives Matter are doing, but it the football circles, to give opportunities to those who deserve them.” Egbo’s feat took place the same weekend former Cameroon forward Pierre Achille Webo helped Istanbul Basaksehir win the Turkish Super Lig title as an assistant coach. -- goal |

TheGoodJoe:Abeg no dey hype any Rodgers. If he were truly top boss, he'd not lose such standing on the last day to silly and foolish decisions. If he turned maddison to epl standard, and Lampard cant do same for Tammy, then, that's a slight at Frankie. Rodgers is supposed to be top but he just goes from 78 to 18 in less than a minute. Geniuses don't do that. |
