But that school sef, they clearly aren’t serious! undecided

Lol definitely not serious.

In other unrelated news, exchange rate on Oanda has hit N501. Please fund your accounts if you still can to avoid having further delays with your maintenance requirements. At this rate it’s not too much to use N600/700 as a benchmark

good day, I'm also headed to Sunderland campus, awaiting my CAS, I would like to be on this WhatsApp group you made mention of, I'm kind of in the dark since I'm doing everything on my own. Thanks

Oh I noticed that pattern as well in the WhatsApp group chat, most students that have gotten their CAS are all at Sunderland campus.

Will you be applying from Nigeria ?

I remember mentioning this earlier, anyone submitting and paying visa fees from today has to use the current Oanda rate. Thats the annoying thing about using a foreign account and one like ours that is so volatlile and unstable.

Keep an eye everyone and keep topping up please

Cheers

Hi are you going to University of Sunderland? Good morning
mattfeuter:

Nothing to be alarmed about,

It’s approaching exams season and the issue is directly from UCAS, it’ll begin to work from next week. It’s the same for all uni of Sunderland students.

Yea I have conditional offers from 3 other unis in London.

I have also emailed Sunderland London one more time to understand what’s happening. I’m hoping to have this all resolved soon so I can move on

The earlier you move on, the better.
If e no be panadol, e no fit be like panadol.
Sunderland Sunderland is great.
London Sunderland is not so great.

I’m sure they are doing you this hide and seek because your course may not Run in London anymore.

All those Middlesex Street so-called campuses can disappoint tooooo much.

Oanda rate is 495.023 as at this morning. This has been the highest for some months away now, it may & may not increase. Fingers crossed.

please for someone who wants to start a postgraduate degree in UK by January, is first week of November too late to start applying.

I wanted to renew epassport and they said date of birth in NIN is different from the one in my passport. It takes Maximum of 3 months for the change to be effected, and the offices that will implement the change of date of birth are currently shut down cuz of covid.

So I wanted to know if November is late to start applying for January intake.

You can start applying to schools with your old passport. I applied to some schools while waiting for my renewed passport and I got offers.

Once my new passport was ready I sent it to the school I accepted.

Although I did not go through that NIN.

Thank you for this response. I will start my application then. If the Nimc office doesn't open by September, I will simply forfeit all the payments I ve already made payment on epassport and go for ordinary passport that doesn't require NIN. I don't know why the system in this country is backward

No..it depends on the processing centre. The old passport is only processed in immigration festac office in Lagos and doesn't require NIN.

An immigration officer told me that

When you mean top up, I guess you mean toppping up school deposit cos even if you top up your bank account, you might need to start counting all over again from your day of top up (from my own understanding though)

Hello House.
My wife was given 27th of August for TB test, but got 1st of September when registering with the link sent by IOM.
What date should she go for the test?

UK tier 4 takes the 28days, 31 days very seriously and also the amount must not be one naira less based on the day you apply exchange rate

Take that oanda rate very serious. If you are ready to apply and you are short even by one naira. You have to wait and track the exchange rate. Do not apply until your money is over or exact base on the exchange rate . Top up and start recounting your 28days or hope it reduces to favour you . Sometimes the rate can drop to favour you

It is better to wait because if your money is less by one naira. You will be rejected. So make sure you calculate with the rate before you submit

That's what I did when I had my first masters. It was my first time in Lagos, I no even know road then (couldn't even navigate my way home on the first day grin I had to discover google map by force) talk less of understanding the Lagos system. We survived by God's grace and even enjoyed the adventure afterall. So the issues you highlighted are not the challenge.

Bottom line is that it is not allowed for tier 4 immigrants, so Idea dropped

There are many other ideas that could generate income. The thing is ruminating well over it, checking it well(for compliance as the case might be) and planing well. Nobody builds a house without first counting the cost.

Sometimes, when I read some comments here, I wonder if people know what they are signing up for when they want to study in UK. It's not like Najia.. it's not easy.. it's a whole new ball game.. you need time to understand the system, build your own reading system and then add work time +school time+study+rest..

And you want to add Uber driver to it.. where you need to be on standby..what if you are attending class and you receive notice to pick up a passenger.. will you keep leaving lectures or after a while stop attending lectures.. I have worked with drivers before. driving is a full time job and quite tiring... it 's unbelievable that someone still wants to defend why they will do this inspite of it being stated that tier-4 can't do it..

Let's learn to follow the rules my people.. it will make life better for other Nigerians coming behind us.. I take God beg una ehn..

I rest my case here

Yes you can. But make sure you have an evidence of your top up payment so that you can include it with your supporting documents. This is a good idea if the exchange rate goes higher than your budget, instead of awaiting rate to fall or paying up to wait another 28days.

As the case may be, requesting another CAS will not be an option. The school will issue a receipt of top-up payment for you. You are good to go once you get your receipt. The CAS is a receipt on its own since it shows the amount the school had received from you. Another receipt serves as supporting document.

I have followed this thread for so long, I almost know every name on here. The pressure and anxiety has been surreal. Thank you guys, you all do an amazing job with all the information you provide here daily.

Quick one: Is any Northumbria university Newcastle candidate here? Please send me a mail on owunnawinifrede@gmail.com to link up. Let's do this thing together please....

Guys, I've not been able to make deposit for my tuition fees or to at least get my CAS processed because, my banks insisted that they need my BSc school certificate (I don't have that yet) or a certified true copy of my statement of result.
Now, I do have my original statement of result. With a signature and a seal (for goodness sake). They also do not want it certified by a court and my school is on lockdown.

I've explored for other alternatives, you know send money to someone in the UK to make a transfer to the school while I pay into their naira account but the least exchange rate I'm getting is almost 600 naira per GBP.

Someone tell me what to do please.
