As the case may be, requesting another CAS will not be an option. The school will issue a receipt of top-up payment for you. You are good to go once you get your receipt. The CAS is a receipt on its own since it shows the amount the school had received from you. Another receipt serves as supporting document.

Thank you

I have followed this thread for so long, I almost know every name on here. The pressure and anxiety has been surreal. Thank you guys, you all do an amazing job with all the information you provide here daily.

Quick one: Is any Northumbria university Newcastle candidate here? Please send me a mail on owunnawinifrede@gmail.com to link up. Let's do this thing together please....

Guys, I've not been able to make deposit for my tuition fees or to at least get my CAS processed because, my banks insisted that they need my BSc school certificate (I don't have that yet) or a certified true copy of my statement of result.
Now, I do have my original statement of result. With a signature and a seal (for goodness sake). They also do not want it certified by a court and my school is on lockdown.

I've explored for other alternatives, you know send money to someone in the UK to make a transfer to the school while I pay into their naira account but the least exchange rate I'm getting is almost 600 naira per GBP.

Someone tell me what to do please.

If your school had accepted your result by giving you an unconditional offer, please neglect the bank and renegotiate with the person who said #600 to a £ , I bought a £ #580 2days ago. If he can agree to pay for you just go for it, that is my little advice. Wish you the very best

Your banks?

How long does it take to open a savings account with stanbic? At least that has been the bank that most ppl here have had it expressly and issue-free with

I don’t think it’s about the bank.
It’s just a general requirement to show Bsc Certificate for Msc. Same as Bsc, you need to show your Waec certificate or Foundation Certificate.

I maybe wrong but at least from experience or others that I know, it’s mandatory. I don’t know why those rules are strict but I guess it’s to prevent money laundering or something similar idk.

In this case, the best is to negotiate with someone in the U.K. to help him with the payment.

But most important question is, CAN HE GO FOR VISA WITHOUT HIS BSC CERTIFICATE? I doubt they accept statement of result.

Please, are you saying the only option rn is to pay part of my tuition to reduce cost or can I just add more money to my account..it isn’t short yet but I don’t want it to get to that stage with this exponential increase
LagosismyHome:
UK tier 4 takes the 28days, 31 days very seriously and also the amount must not be one naira less based on the day you apply exchange rate

Take that oanda rate very serious. If you are ready to apply and you are short even by one naira. You have to wait and track the exchange rate. Do not apply until your money is over or exact base on the exchange rate . Top up and start recounting your 28days or hope it reduces to favour you . Sometimes the rate can drop to favour you

It is better to wait because if your money is less by one naira. You will be rejected. So make sure you calculate with the rate before you submit

I cannot really answer this .... only you can. Note that what you need versus what you have and overall it should guide you on the best informed decision . If you have a buffer to put in your account no harm in that at all. A buffer is always good in case the exchange rate increases suddenly

All I can tell you is never never apply if it's one naira short . You have to meet the minimum amount for that days exchange rate

Hmmm Is this not the way to check the rate for conversion?

solarinde:

Oanda rate is 495.023 as at this morning. This has been the highest for some months away now, it may & may not increase. Fingers crossed.

If your maintenance fee has fallen below requirement as stipulated by UKVI, make further payment to your school (if you are still owing your school part of the first year tuition fees) or pay some fees towards your university accommodation and upload receipt to lay claims that your maintenance should be reduced. let you university update your CAS. Up to £1,265 of the accommodation fees paid will be deducted from the amount of funds you are required to show available to you. Using the card option will be faster.

It's better than waiting for Naira to appreciate, which is not likely to happen soon.

Hello guys,

Is it true that some schools accept 2k deposit before issuing CAS and after which they work out a flexible payment plan of up to 5 -6 months especially for masters programs of like 1 year?

He can apply for a visa without his BSc Certificate. I applied for my previous masters with only my statement of result. I got an offer and proceeded to apply for my visa with the same statement of result and I got it. What matters is that it was accepted by the school and listed on your CAS.

Thank you guys so much for all your replies. I figured the statement of result won't be a problem as it will be listed on my CAS letter. I'll have to find someone in the UK with a good rate then.
Thanks guys.

How much statement does the embassy want to see in your account? Is it the full school fees?

Find someone in the U.K. that can pay you pounds then you pay into their Naira Acct.

If you don’t have a UK Acct yet find a family member that can receive on your behalf

Hey guys,

I thought I shld give you guys a heads up especially those that have been unable to book appointment. I have just managed to book appointment after trying for 7 days. My appointment is for 13th August.

I was at TLS today to complain and I met a whole lot of Tier 4 applicants there complaining that they can't book appointments.

So apparently, the embassy is only making very few appointment date and time for Tier 4 applicants available to TLS. And they normally release these appointment at a random time during the day. (Around midday I believe).

I was lucky to see both 9.00 am and 10.00am for 13th August at about 12noon today but the 9.00am appointment was booked out in about 2mins.

So if you are having troubles, just keep checking. Keep checking. Good Luck.
