Hello, I received my CAS yesterday.
But on the "evidence used to obtain offer" field, they wrote award letter and transcripts.
Does this mean I will provide these documents when going to embassy?
I do not have my Bsc certificate, as University of Lagos couldn't do their convocation due to some issues before the lockdown. But we were issued a "To whom it may concern letter"
Also, the only transcript I have is the student copy transcript. Will those suffice? 1 Like |

WINNIE9223: I have followed this thread for so long, I almost know every name on here. The pressure and anxiety has been surreal. Thank you guys, you all do an amazing job with all the information you provide here daily.
Quick one: Is any Northumbria university Newcastle candidate here? Please send me a mail on owunnawinifrede@gmail.com to link up. Let's do this thing together please....
Guys, I've not been able to make deposit for my tuition fees or to at least get my CAS processed because, my banks insisted that they need my BSc school certificate (I don't have that yet) or a certified true copy of my statement of result. Now, I do have my original statement of result. With a signature and a seal (for goodness sake). They also do not want it certified by a court and my school is on lockdown.
I've explored for other alternatives, you know send money to someone in the UK to make a transfer to the school while I pay into their naira account but the least exchange rate I'm getting is almost 600 naira per GBP.
Someone tell me what to do please. Hello I'm a Northumbria applicant too.. I'll send you a pm now 1 Like |

Good morning
Thank you for your email.
A deposit can be paid at any time but we can only issue a CAS up to 3 months before the start date of your course.
For the January 2021 intake, we will start issuing CAS in late October, exact date to be confirmed, but not before 26th of that month at the earliest. We will start asking students for their bank statements to be provided from about the second week of October onwards.
This is because any bank statement you use as financial evidence must be dated within 1 month of your subsequent visa application. This also gives us time to check the bank statements, which we need to do before we issue the CAS.
As an example, if your bank statement was dated 30 September (showing the money has been held for the previous 28 days), this statement could only be used for a visa application up to 30 October, not beyond that date.
There is no guarantee that we can issue CAS from 26 October so this does not give you much time to get everything ready to make your visa application by 30 October. It would perhaps be better to have a statement dated from the second week of October onwards as this gives time to make any amendments required and leaves a good amount of time for the statement to be used for visa application after the CAS is issued.
It is best to use the same bank statement for your CAS and your visa application. We check it meets the standards set by the United Kingdom Visa Immigration service (UKVI), who ultimately process your visa.
We have had students in the past who used different statements than those they originally sent to us and ended up with a visa refusal because they did not meet the requirements.
Obviously, everything depends on the ever changing response to the pandemic in the UK but hopefully things will be back to normal by then.
I printed my statement on 14th July Got my CAS on 24th July Submitted my visa application on 26th July. Got biometric date of 3rd September. Teesside University wrote on my CAS letter that i should apply with same statement within 31days from the day i printed it which i have done and uploaded. Since my biometric is on 3rd September, will i require to print another on my biometric day?

Hallo, thanks for the advice. In my case, I never struggled with booking an appointment, i just tried it last night and the earliest date I got was 25th August. Is it possible to amend the date and see if I could get something earlier than 25th? garuskoko: Hey guys,
I thought I shld give you guys a heads up especially those that have been unable to book appointment. I have just managed to book appointment after trying for 7 days. My appointment is for 13th August.
I was at TLS today to complain and I met a whole lot of Tier 4 applicants there complaining that they can't book appointments.
So apparently, the embassy is only making very few appointment date and time for Tier 4 applicants available to TLS. And they normally release these appointment at a random time during the day. (Around midday I believe).
I was lucky to see both 9.00 am and 10.00am for 13th August at about 12noon today but the 9.00am appointment was booked out in about 2mins.
So if you are having troubles, just keep checking. Keep checking. Good Luck. 2 Likes |

This makes no sense at all. Btw @op I’m referring to the government in context with the information in the email. The government is trying to control the high exchange rate and money hoarding (bc they don’t want people to withdraw at less rate abroad & sell high to black market or people). But limiting or stopping online payment transactions is just absurd. Now what happens? People go to black market to buy at high exchange rate just to fund their domiciliary accounts for common online payments. How will the exchange rate fall when there’s higher demand of foreign currency than supply? This is just insane man. Yimi4real: Has anyone seen this? A BCIE contact sent this to me. Yes, these are the documents you provide at the embassy. The CAS said award letter not certificate, so that is what they referred to, in addition to your student transcript. If it is okay for your school to issue CAS, it should be fine. However try to make sure you have put in process to resume processing your certificate when your previous uni(Unilag) is ready, just incase you need to update your records in school Cheers Youngee34: Hello, I received my CAS yesterday.

My response to this is for you to calculate from the date you printed your statement: 14th July to the day of your biometric 3rd September, isn't that more than 31days? if it is, then you have to reprint a recent statement. The highlighted sentence from the email explains that it should be within 30days. When your statement is submitted and checked for CAS, they expect it to be maintained, printed with a recent version and used up to 30days within your biometrics. Students have notoriously used different statement of accounts from CAS submission to biometric leading to outright refusal that was why it was flagged up. Again a link to Govt guidance on tier 4 maintenance was posted here for people to see and make reference to. Cheers TuniLove: The information below may be of benefit to someone.
