arejibadz: There's no "best" language. Use the best tool for the job. Learn at least 4. Simple guide: 1. Learn at least one compiled language (Golang, Rust, C#, Java, Scala etc) 2. Learn at least 2 scripting (strictly speaking) languages (javascript, lua, perl) 3. Learn Node (it's not a language, it's an environment 4. Learn PHP |

My own question: Php or Nodejs which one will land you a job faster. asin tomorrow tomorrow? i have been wasting my time learning this python and django without considering job market. bunnaes: I don't think this statement is correct. A lot of people still use Laravel. In fact, the new Codeigniter 4 is more like a copy of Laravel with lots of similar stuffs. I actually created a thread about it here: https://www.nairaland.com/5983680/codeigniter-4-exactly-like-laravel micodon: Codeigniter isn't dead. A lot of people use it day by day. It is also the easiest framework to understand for beginners, so many PHP beginners start with it. If it's dead, there won't be version 3 and version 4. |

teamoneline:so because you couldn't find django jobs means you are wasting your time learning one language, what happen when you start learning PHP and you start finding python or django jobs. New startups are using Nodejs, Python and other languages apart from PHP now. Tho it is hard to find django jobs in Nigeria but here, Nodejs, Python e.t.c are very common. |

I will advise you to learn both. Try to integrate Mongo db while learning node js. However, be careful with Node, you may fell in-love with it. |

teamoneline:. Do not learn programming language for the sole purpose of getting job, you must have passion for it. The passion will keep you going when you are frustrated with some things. Learning programming language takes time. Find something else doing while you learn, in the long run, it's gonna pay off 1 Like |
