CHAPTER THIRTY THREE


"Boss, he is awake" Obed spoke hurriedly to David, He nodded and Obed left immediately. David had taken Jeff back to the hotel with him, while he was still unconscious. He gave the waitress money for the drinks he took and climbed up the stairs to room 104.


"Boss, thank God you are here, he is violent" Kyle muttered in relief.


"Daniel" David muttered, walking slowly towards Jeff who was on the bed. "We are good people and we only want to help you. You were abducted and your memories were wiped off, the reason you don't remember a thing" he sat beside him.


"What life was i living before the accident?" Jeff asked.


"You were a doctor, a great surgeon, loved by all because of your kind heart" he chuckled sadly, blinking back the tears that already gathered. "When you died, everyone cried, the people whose lives you saved cried and mourned you. Our mother cried day and night, she was hurt, she gnashed her teeth and dragged her hair, she didn't want to believe that you were dead" he let out a full breath and continued "I met your girlfriend, she looks like her world came crashing, she mourned you too. I missed you bro, i thought you died and that i was never going to see you again, am glad I found you" he concluded.


"I had a girlfriend? and a mother too? Paulina lied, she said i have nobody" Jeff said through gritted teeth.


"And who is Paulina?"


"My wife" he replied instantly.


"Wife? you got married? when?"


"I don't know, i saw her when i woke up at the hospital and she introduced herself to me as my wife, we have been living together since then"


"Am taking you back to Awka, with me. Mom needs to see you, Bari needs to see you too" David said.


"Bari!!!" Jeff exclaimed. "Who is Bari?" he added.


"Your girlfriend, you probably won't remember"


"I used to live in Awka? but why did Paulina lie?" Jeff muttered.


"Because she wanted you all to herself. Am on her tail and i will get her arrested for putting up this stunt"


"How did you find me?"


"Long story, man. i was looking for Lina before i found you" he shrugged.

"Of course you are going with me, i will just take care of Lina, then we will leave" he gave him a reassuring smile.









Paulina sighed in relief as her husband entered the supermarket, she discharged the lady she was talking to, before rushing to hug him.


"Where have you been?, you really gave me a scare" she said.


"Paulina, we need to talk" her husband muttered, coldly.


"What happened? I hope there is no problem?"


"Who is Daniel?" He asked, going to sit down.


"Da...niel?" she stuttered as beads of sweat formed on her face.


"Yes, Daniel" he replied firmly.


"I don't know anyone bearing such name, where did you hear that from?" she managed to say.


"Don't lie to me, Lina. Am done with your lies, damnit, do you even have a heart? you held a young man against his wish and you constantly fed him with drugs that cause memory loss. You thought he won't find out?" he scoffed, looking away.


"Am... am sorry, Daniel, I love you so much and i don't want you to be with someone else. It hurt me then, seeing you with that lady that is not even anywhere close to me in terms of beauty. Daniel please forget the past and let us continue to live in peace"


"Shut the bleep up" he shouted. "Who do you think you are to put up such a stunt? how did you even meticulously execute such a huge plan?"


"I got help, okay. Someone that also didn't want you to be with that lady, helped me. I love you, Daniel, please don't leave me" she muttered.


"Am not Daniel" he replied harshly, standing on his feet. "Am David, Daniel's twin, and you are under arrest, for murder and kidnap" he brought his ID card out and flashed it at her face.


"Tw...in? Da...vid?" she stammered, before she fainted.





I want to sincerely apologise for not updating, for almost a week now, i was very busy and the burial was successful.
