Back then in school I went to fetch water in a Hostel. After getting the water, I just sighted two German dogs. Sincerely I knew I had a talent that day. As the dogs followed me, I tip-toed with my back till I got to the gate. Immediately I opened the gate... Vooooom... Speed...
A friend who later went there to fetch water had to kneel down when the dogs attacked him. He was rescued by those living in the hostel.

Being chased by a dog was a norm in our hood back then during my primary school, sometimes we would go look for its trouble and get chased just for fun

The not so funny part was the day I was being chased by a goat, a very stubborn goat in the hood wey don chop curses taya from farmers for always eating their crops

Back in the village, we had that kind of goat.

Yes..my yr1 hostel days in Delta campus.

It was around 5am thereabout, and I was returning from an all night reading I did in choba campus. So I had just entered into delta campus from the gate, I hadn't even taken up to 15 steps, when all of a sudden, the three bingo dogs that are usually around that premises started barking and charging....

I initially thought it was a case if mistaken identity, cause I've never seen the dogs being hostile to anyone. They move freely in the campus. When I knew water has passed garri, was when they started coming towards my direction with speed, Omo, naso I tear race oo. My saving grace was that I ran back to the security post. So it was the guards that held down the dogs before I walked safely to my hostel block.

Hmmm, it's a long story. But thank God even the wig I wore fell off and I didn't know.

It was inside one garage like that, they told me not to run and i ran. Who no go run before as a 7yr old kid?

Now them no born any dog well to try rubbish with me, let one come near me and it's jaw will shift.

My brother and I then were walking along a street when suddenly a dog came out of a gate. My brother had always been boasting about how fearless and strong he was.
when the dog came out of the gate, it was charging towards my brother only and I could recollect then that it was like we were with knives trying to look for grasses to cut and give our ileya rams. Suddenly my brother started saying this
" Eh bami le pada" meaning please help me to chase the dog away.
I was just laughing since then I still use to remind him whenever he wants to start to say he wants to do boxing

Dogs do remember your faces and holds grudges, sometimes in June, 2019, when i got my Rottweiller, I always bring him outside every morning to exercise him, and I use to chain him outside my room while I gym, there is this neighbour of mine that always flow him, each time I am not outside, because he barks a lot, fast-forward to 8 months later, he has grown to become a cute monster, I was exercising him and suddenly, he saw the guy walk into the compound with a girl, he immediately chased and bite him.


Truth is, dogs perceives fear from you, and no matter how wicked and harsh a dog is, it will bark and bark at you but will not jump on you to bite you unless its perceives fear from you, or you bend down trying to stone it, or maybe the dog had marked your face earlier if you constantly stone at it when it's chained .

I have dogs and have trained dogs for over 20years. I have seen my Rottweiler chase at people as it is harsh and rude, but never a day has he bitten anyone intentionally unless he has grudges against you.

One was when the owner of the land where we used to play football as kids released his dog to chase us because he's tired of warning us. .
The second one was when I went to my friend's house and he has a younger sister whom we both had things for each other. He released the dog and told me to come in(compound) while he quickly entered the house, na him big bro come control the dog that day...

Almost everyone has experienced this as a kid I’ve been chased by bingo countless times

Was jejly going to throw my waste at the collection point very early in the morning. I was already there when I chanced upon a dog that was feeding from it. I died 7 times already cos I've always hated them after they chopped off the buttocks of a child in my street. The next thing it turned around bared its teeth and proceeded to come closer. I was already crying then courage came as it almost pounced on me I hit it with the big garbage bag immediately which made it retreat a bit. Then I used the opportunity to pack Avery big sand and pour on it.

Seeing I wasn't afraid anymore, it started going back while I took to my heels with the speed of light.

A ram(ebule) , hen, peacock has also chased us when we provoked it as kids.

My own experience wasn’t funny back then I went to a friend house. I knew they have a very aggressive dog, so I didn’t even bother to enter, I called the guy, only for his younger(About six years) bro to come out and started whining me about me afraid of his dog, in same atmosphere I too was whining him that I am not afraid of the dog and the dog can’t do anything.
My friend came and we were discussing, lol and behold the smallie don go release dog carry am with no chain dey come meet me o. As I sight the dog from far running in light speed, my friend turn back to go stop am, but me as a sharp guy don know say dog go escape. Omo na so me I start my own race o like 1000miles gap before the dog but as I turn back ehn e be like say the dog teleport to my back of leg. Omo see shout “yeeeeyeeeeeyeeee”, As I Dey run the next thing my mind tell me Na to jump inside gutter, omo I jump inside o, the dog ran back. All the girls and even friends sisters and everyone on the street where just looking at me inside gutter . Omo shame nor catch me, na God I just dey thank say the dog nor bite me.

Everybody just dey look me, some dey shout for guy wey get dog. Anyway I had minor injuries and a little dislocation but no bite. Later on my friends were now telling me that I should not have run(for my mind I be like If I hear). O boy since then until them change the size of chain and anytime the chain is lock that I use to come to visit o.

The key is to just be calm, if you are scared and run, that's the beginning of your problem.

My experience isnt funny


Just coming back from church evening service we pass a street(short cut). Well I pass back of a car beside a gutter the next thing I know a fearless skinny bingo bit me ...i fell inside gutter that idiot follow me inside the gutter oo. Came out from the gutter and I pick race thank God my brothers were waiting for me.. immediately they saw what was happening one took a stick with a nail,the other motor Tyre they use it and stone the dog while pouring sand tho. Learnt that one of my bro match the child of that bingo and I was the one who received it(it pain me Sha because something I did not do ). To cut the story short. We went to the police to arrest the owner. and dogs was ban in that man compound. I went to hospital to treat my self.




Second one was same church service but we decided to go to church 2. We left the church environment to go look for trouble from other kids. Well we saw a dog that was lying down and we thought they chain it. You all know young brains na to cut story short I found my self climbing fence(a female like me) climbing fence like an expert.

Happened years back, I was used to running when sent on an errand. I went to buy bread then on my way back home(there's this neighborhood dog that tormented me).
I started running, looked back and saw this devil chasing me. Immediately I activated the nitro boost in my legs, I didn't even look back. Still the mad dog didn't relent.
What surprised me till today was how I sprinted and jumped the length of the suckaway pit.
Then the real problem began, the road home was an uphill.
The more I ran, the more I screamed, the more I lost energy.
One man was standing not too far, as I see am I just dey shout Alfa! Alfa!! Alfa!!!
Na my saving grace be that oo, if not the dog for finish me that day..

From that day I con dey fear dog ehnn.

Mine was not so mild it was more tragic

My neighbors dog got out and attacked some teenager in the street, it was a pure breed Grizzly bear bloodline Rottweiler. They are massive , dangerous and extremely violent he had two , hulk and Bruno ..

Hulk got out and attacked this university student on Holliday , the wound was so terrible it tore his entire calf muscle out to the bone and his hands were ripped so badly because he was protecting his neck

Now my neighbor paid all the damages and more to keep the case low key cause he loved his dogs

So he sent hulk to his village home. One day hulk killed the care taker 's 12 year old son .. that's when he had to rush down spend on the burial and other culture stuff the villagers demanded

He had to put hulk down after this .. he cried like a baby for weeks

some people are just plainly stupid...

One afternoon after returning from work so fatigued, I had to take a nap (nap turned to a real four hours sleep). I woke up during eventide and felt like getting fruits myself by the roadside just about a stone-throw from my place.

As I was moving, sth just told me cucumber will be ideal, therefore, I had to cross to the other side of the road to get it.

I was heading home and that same sth in my head that has been advising me since I woke up opined that it's suggesting I buy groundnuts to eat the cucumbers along. It also spiced everything in my head once like: 'after the buying of the groundnut and you reach home, why not just put the cucumber in the fridge to chill a little, then enjoy it with the groundnut.' Well, it seemed nice. I had to go back to get groundnuts.

Now, this was where the problem started.

I thought about not coming outside again so I wanted to get everything that will definitely keep me indoors. I bought some fried meat and kpomo. Waiting for my balance, I was thinking whilst searching for other things I likely will need.

I bin dey reason wetin I wan use step down those things I don tanda. I was like '..should I buy this Zero Coke or Hollandia Yogurt or should..' I was interrupted by seeing Sop (short for Sopuruchi) closeby who's 1. Has always pestered me to know where I stay, 2. I don't like her way of life, coupled with fact that she was ready to just come, come dey swallow kpomo anyhow with toothpick without conscience. Personally too, I'm not the sort who brings anyone to my place and dont like unauthorized visits.

She's so self-centered that before you say Jack, she's uncorked one Heneiken and flushed it down her throat, and still be talking rubbish with you between mouthfuls of more swallowed beef. She's well known for that. Believe me bro, I've seen her attack sb so I took cover and I wasn't ready to overspend (when salary no go even come until two weeks later).

I walked then entered into a close there. God so kind, an uncompleted building (duplex) was adjacent with gates opened so I stood there and remembered I had to call a friend I promised I'd call a day before.

I dailed the number relaxed on a wall stamping a foot repeatedly. I could hear some noise the other side of the building: maybe they were partying I thought.

As the phone was still connecting, ha, I was just hearing another strange noise. I thought my ears where deceiving and resounding the stamping of my foot more loudly. Nna eh, chains were beginning to hit together and the ground shaking like sth was about to collapse.

O crazy me, I bent down to the ground as if to hear if the ground was mumbling till it barked! It was a dog! No be bingo, I mean a DOG! If you see how big this dog was!

I swiftly started climbing the [uncompleted] staircase to save my life from this fat-headed brutal merciless lion-type dog. It dived at my leg (oh my cool leg)... but a chain stopped it from reaching the first floor where I mounted.

I didn't even realise sth initially; the music stopped playing. I didn't take notice. I dey up there (feeling I defeated the dog), I bent and poured some sand as ' talk bark to the hand' abi was it to scare it? Dog was just gnashing its teeth looking at me. I even did ntoor to it. I decided to urinate on it cos I thought it wouldn't understand a middle finger. Of course, I spat at the asshole. That wasn't all. I take stone dey stone the dog until I turned around to meet many seated human beings looking at me (I mean very many people) who was attending a burial adjacent the wall; the MISDEEMED PARTY.

Chai, I wished I could just disappear that day. I was like 'father lord, just take my soul.' I couldn't go down and nowhere to hide. The MC was even on MIC like: 'Please, young man.., hello young man, yes you, we'll like you to come down as we'll like to continue please. ' Na me come mumu come signal am (cos he wouldn't hear me if I talked from there) make e come close and told him my ordeal. The mumu MC carry MIC announce am say who get dog over the building to go shift am say 'to help this innocent stranded young man' there. People laughed me die. Just imagine a very tall cute light-skinned guy wey carry nylon on a building na. The matter just tire me.
This life no just balance.

Well, it was one hell of an experience. Na that day I know there's a very giant difference between a dog and a bingo.

Bro calm down, you do know unlike other countries Nigeria has no laws against any Breed of dog being imported here ?

He didn't break any laws and besides he paid for the burial of the child and all hospital bills

My experience was was a funny one.
It happened last year, I travelled to spend my holiday with a close family friend.
I arrived there at night, the dogs (a rottweiler, GSD and a pup) welcomed my arrival with barking as usual with strangers, but she managed to calm them down, we went inside and I settled in..

Well the next morning, the dogs gave me the greatest scare of my life that I still smile each time I remember it. I was in the sitting room when I noticed that the dogs where hitting on the burglary proof just outside the house (didn't know that the dogs could actually remove the pad lock themselves once it's unlocked).
I saw through the window that the dogs have already passed the burgary proof and heading towards the main door which was slightly opened. I got up from the chair I was sitting on and ran to close the door fully so they won't get inside. JJC like me didn't know that the dogs knew their way around the house, they went to look for another entrance-the kitchen door!

I was heaving a sigh of relief thinking the dogs were gone only for me to open my eyes and I saw them right in front of me. I was scared and surprised at the same time that I began shouting at the top of my voice, aaaaahhhh! and the whole family came running from their various rooms thinking the dogs had bitten me already. Those dogs nearly gave me a heart attack that day, they were actually fierce-looking especially the rott with her intimidating size.

I later bonded with the dogs and we became friends, they even welcomed me each time I came back from my outings.

There was this big dog always fond of harassing people on the way to School. It chases one slowly without really biting. I no know if na play the dog the play but the sound of it's bark and it's fierce voice makes one to run in fear. It once chased a lecturer.
