Plasma tvs are somewhat extinct.

They are now called LCD/LEDs ... whether smart or not.

I've been using Samsung for 7 years now and I plug it directly to the power socket, no burnt nor surge. Very reliable.

Buy LG, especially the one with separate power adapter, like laptop power adapter! If anything is to blow it will be the adapter which cost only 3 or 4 thousand.
I was using Samsung and it got burnt first by NEPA then by lightning and I said enough of Samsung.
