Yes I am wiser than majority of the so called quacks in Congress and certainly more qualified than most of them! When you sign a loan you have to put down collaterals. In this case the Nigerian government used its assets as collateral. When China comes for its money, it will go through international court, it can't just come and take over Nigeria. THIS IS NOT WAR!

The court would more than likely seize Nigerian assets abroad and require us to pay the amount owed. This is how all loans work, big or small. Anything else you would like to know from your wise king?

Literally, it doesn't mean that China will take over Nigeria as a country, but from the terms of the contract as explained by the minister himself suggests that when Nigeria defaults in payment of the loan China can actually go for any Nigeria asset of their choice. So which asset do you think China would go for? They'll definitely go for the most important and valuable that'll affect Nigeria negatively and thereby controlling Nigerian economy. No they cannot just go for any asset, where do you people get this nonsense from? A $400 million debt does not mean China can just take over Lagos or our airports. Like I explained earlier, an international court of arbitrations will decide what will happen and before any internal assets are taken, all our external assets will be sized or sold first.

First question we must ask is this: Does the Nigerian government have the right to borrow money? Next question: Who or what is holding them accountable? Let me break it down to you, it simply states that Nigeria cannot use the excuse of being a sovereign nation to get out of paying its debt, it simply means they could come after almost any assets in Nigeria to recover the debt in case of default or failure to pay.
