Olayetan:

Will it be same thing when a rider offers you 1500 for a trip of 4k norm and you quickly accept it cux you aren't paying commission from the money n while on the trip, you encounter heavy traffic.

Would you say its favourable?

I feel what the app should do is to assign the offer to a driver closest to the rider and allow the driver to offer his own price and if the ridee doesn't accept the offer, then the order can now be sent to another driver instead of assigning one trip to 20 drivers and not giving them the chance to bargain.

Some drivers will just quickly accept it and later want to bargain cux they don't want to loose the request to another driver but it would have been late cux they already accepted the offer.

The designers of the app aren't that stupid, they won't let you go below a certain threshold. See image below when you try to put in an amount that is below the standard price range. Now multiply the standard price of 5154 by .20 and you'll see it gives the approximate price of 4125, your net as though it was uber or bolt after taking their commission. For this exact same trip, I did it for 5500.

Like I have said in the past, the only thing that needs to be done is price adjustment when additional time is spent on the trip due to traffic. I believe they will begin to factor all of these when they start to collect their commission.

The creators of indriver knows what they are doing. It is fully understood that the drivers are the engine block of the business, so they allowed a 6months grace of operation without charging commission, and when they eventually start charging commission, it is between 5%-8%. What can a driver ask for.

Modified. Initial image was a wrong one.

Olayetan:

Some drivers got no chills to think if the price is favourable or not, you will see a request of 4k norm and someone will offer 1500 on indriver and a slowpoke driver will just quickly accept without accesing the distance of the trip and if possible there will be traffic on the way...

That's why i hate that indriver.

You don't know the app well, there is no way it will give you 1,500 for a trip of 4k.
I have used it very well, so I know what I am saying
You may be wrong though. With the traffic situation in Lagos, the app is not helping. I once took a trip on indriver from Agungi area to Magodo. Trip was agreed at 4k. Uber Bolt showed circa 5k. Mind you, we were on that trip for 6 hrs. Now tell me if it would have ended 5k if it was on bolt. Even with the commission, I m sure I would have taken home reasonable amount higher than what agreed on that day.

I had this funny experience yesterday night on Indriver. Got a request from this Olosho some mins to 10pm. Drove to PU and she didn't come out u till 9.55pm. We started trip from Osapa to Admiralty way, only for rider to be telling me she will stop her and there bla bla. I told her indriver doesn't allow that and besides it was almost 10. Curfew will soon start. After too much shouting that she needed to get headache relief, I had to take her to a pharmacy not knowing na condom she wan go buy ọ. She was at the chemist for another 15 mins. When she came out, I told her the price can't be the same again. Na so she fired up ọ. Calling me all sorts of names. That she won't add anything.
At this point, I went gaga on her too. I told her to keep the money but I would take her back to PU. Initially, she and her friend thought I was joking until they saw me firing back to PU. They started begging me that I should take them to their destination. As at that time, police don dey road, I managed to turn back. Oya Olosho pay me my money, she said I must take her to her destination.
Where is the destination? She no know o. She said I should just follow her map direction. What is the address on the map? She said she no kno. Oya lemme check it for you on your map, she said I shouldn't touch her phone. The initial address on Indriver na Admiralty Way. Las Las I dropped them somewhere inisde Phase 1 after driving around for some mins. Blasted my car away to go address my case with police why I still dey road after 10 pm.

An Ikeja High Court has ordered Oshodi Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos to pay N1Million compensation to a motorist, Mr Louis Idahosa for extorting him of N28,000 for allegedly driving against traffic (one-way).

Delivering judgment, Justice Obafemi Adamson said that local governments lack the constitutional power to impound vehicles and to inflict traffic related penalties on road users.

The judge said that threatening, harassing and extorting N28,000 from Idahosa by Oshodi LGA officials and impounding his vehicle under the guise that he drove "one-way" was illegal.

Justice Adamson noted that the applicant's fundamental human rights as enshrined in Sections 34, 36, 41(1) and 44 the 1999 Constitution was breached by Oshodi LGA.

The judge ordered the LGA to refund the Idahosa of the N28,000 and gave an injunction restraining Oshodi LGA from harassing road users.

"An Order is hereby granted directing the respondents (Oshodi LGA) to refund to the applicant (Idahosa) N28,000 which was extorted from him under the guise that he drove one-way without affording him fair hearing.

"An Order of perpetual injunction is hereby granted restraining the respondent or its agents from harassing, threatening or arresting motorists or road users for traffic offences, imposing fines and impounding vehicles.

"Doing so is ultra vires (beyond legal power or authority) their powers outlined under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended)," Justice Adamson said.

In addition to the N1million compensation awarded in favour of the applicant for breaching his right to a fair hearing and freedom of movement, Justice Adamson also awarded a cost of N100,000 against the counsel for Oshodi LGA, Mr L. O Mazoke.

Idahosa had via his counsel, Mr Emmanuel Eze filed a fundamental human rights suit dated Sept. 3, 2019 against Oshodi LGA.

According to Eze, Idahosa on Aug. 28, 2019 while being driven by his driver in his Toyota Corolla car with registration number KRD551CZ along Oyetoyo St., in front of the Oshodi/Isolo LGA, they were accosted by six men who were not in uniform.

"They stopped and arrested Idahosa and his driver insisting the driver contravene traffic laws by driving one-way and were taken into the LGA office.

"Idahosa insisted that any crime had been committed, he and his driver should be arraigned in court.

"Officials of the respondent did not agree to an arraignment but resorted to harassing, intimidating and threatening them with continuous detention.

"The applicant was forced to pay N28,000 into the respondents treasury.

"He however discovered that only N25,000 was written on the receipt issued and upon enquiry, he was informed that the outstanding N3,000 was gate pass fee," Eze said.

Oshodi LGA in court documents however denied extorting Idahosa noting that the persons who arrested and extorted the applicant and his driver were not staff of the LGA.

The LGA also noted that it did not authorise anyone to extort money from the applicant.

I love this mean. What duty does LG have with road traffic? The extortion and illegal money makes the LGs send their touts on the roads to impound cars.

Temporary license is as valid as the original one as long as it has not expired and i believe the original should be out in about a month after getting the temporary one.
