provide he's from kogi, he's on a safe side.

The worst that could happen is for Udus to give him BDS

he can't even be given BDS..not like last year when people were moved to the course cus it's a new course. if he doesn't change he'll have to settle for Vet med, applied chemistry or education courses. it's an advice and I'm saying this from experience.

Ok.

I got an advice that since my jamb align with my waec and Unn's DE form, the JAMB's DE form won't be an issue. How do u see that?
My advice is that you go to JAMB and change the date of birth on your JAMB DE form to the date of birth you wrote in WAEC, JAMB UTME and UNN's DE form.

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Nobody: 7:22am On Aug 15, 2020
I want to ask something .
I did change of institution from a university to another university. JAMB has sent my details to the school and I have registered for post utme.

Can I change to another school? while I haven't written the one I changed to post utme? when I want to be given admission in the first school I changed to will it appear on caps even if I had made a second change(caps is suppose to notify you that you've been admitted into any institution whether you choose or didn't choose them?). I hope someone understands this question

1.) No calculator at all, even system calculator. NONE!

2.) They're basic Mathematics with majority from trigonometry, all these triangle questions, also word problem, mean median mode, linear equation... They're just simple mathematics

3.) For the last question, I must be sincere with you, I do not trust UNICAL, I don't know why I had 280 cos i do very well, I had seen, studied and solved all the questions even a day before I went for my exam, cos UNICAL normally repeat the same questions. Those that did on Tuesday did same questions with those that did on Monday, and those that did in Wednesday did same with those that did on Tuesday and Monday and the trend goes on like that, Unical doesn't change their questions, it's always word for word,so we MBBS Aspirant did on Thursday, so we've been able to gathered more questions from those that have been doing since Monday cos they keep repeating the same questions... Lo and behold, it was same thing that they gave us and I believe i did so well.

But what I noticed from the general result is that, people whose state of origin are from south south tends to score extremely high despite having a very low JAMB result, but those from their non catchment area and non indigenes were now scoring low.. you go dey see person with 170 in Jamb, scoring 360+ in PUTME, meanwhile you can now see someone with 300+ in jamb now scoring 200, 230 in PUTME... I was so common... I wouldn't know if scores were just given randomly or something went wrong somewhere... But immediately I saw my result and I saw my 290 aggregate, I didn't wait for them to even release cut off before I changed to UNIPORT cos from my findings, I realised that their previous cut off before that year was 296 and I couldn't afford to loose out from 2019 admission. I guess I answered you questions
Now Oluwaseun let's say you did the COI before even writing Unical's post utme and your details sent to uniport, will if affect your writing unical post utme?. If you had beaten cut off for unical, will jamb notify you on caps to accept unical admission even if your details are now with uniport.

I understand your question bro and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

1. Can I change institution for the second time? Being that I've registered for the post utme of my current institution

Yes bro. You can do that.
However, there is a limit to the number of times you can change your institution of choice. I think it's 2 times or so. You should keep that in mind.

2. If I'm offered admission by the institution I changed from, will it reflect on CAPS?

Your details are already in the database of the institution you changed from and so definitely if you meet their requirements you will be offered admission.

But it will not reflect on CAPS because it is designed in such a way that you can only be admitted by your current institution except in cases where an institution request to offer a candidate admission on market place. You have changed from that institution and so, CAPS can only recognize your current institution.

In a nutshell, you can be admitted on the schools portal but not on CAPS. And the federal ministry of education has made it clear that any admission outside CAPS is none and void.

Hope I was able to answer the question clearly?

Hello, AlacrityVictor.

Can you kindly quote me?, I haven't had the time to figure out the way mailing works on Nairaland.

Thanks.
Click on the person's moniker. I mean the person you want to mail and click on the part I circled in the pic. It's that simple. You can't see that person's email address. Nairaland will just notify the person that "so so so would like to send mail to you" and then the person will reply you and conversation starts from there. I hope this helps.

Lol. The score is good for MBBS for guys from less competitive states loke Jigawa, Nasarawa, Gombe, Adamawa...etc.
Kogi State is the most competitive state in terms of Medicine, he doesn't even stand a chance for BDS... Had he applied with this score 4years ago, he'd had been offered MBBS without stress.
.
Those Kogi guys are terribly competitive. But if he is lucky ( which is unlikely) he'd get in.

Udus will tell you their merit is 280, but if you believe that shii, then you're on a long journey to applied chemistry.
Truth is 287 is supposed to be enough, but the issue is that with 287, you may be the 10th on the list for MBBS from kogi and maybe God helps you only top 5 are admitted then you'd be left with no choice than to manage Agric, Edu etc.
I hate to tell people to change course, but except you're confident and you have terrestrial backings, I'm sorry to say your 287 may not be enough.
During the last admission process, only 4 kogi students were admitted via jamb, the rest made it in via Matric and I'm not sure their totality is up to 8. I can suggest BDS, Pharmacy, MLS, and Nursing. Those courses have a good number of Kogites with scores in this range and less of yours.

The worst that could happen is for Udus to give him BDS
Last year BDS was new. This year, BDS already has lots of aspirants. Many that won't be admitted. In fact, there is no guarantee that all that choose BDS will be admitted, not to talk of someone who did not choose BDS but was hoping to be 'thrown' to BDS. I'm sorry, but the throw may end in applied chemistry, Edu or Microbiology. Aspirants need to stop assuming that if I did not get MBBS, I'll be given BDS or worst nursing or Mls. Those that choose MLS initially would be considered first.
In fact if you have 302 and they did not give you MBBS, udus will consider someone who has 275 that choose MLS first before considering you that has 302 for the same MLS. They believe you did not want MLS that's why you did not choose it initially, so they'll first settle those that choose it initially and only if there are still slots before they'd consider you.
