the cover? be precise bro I'm a newbie

Also check if the rubber seal on the water reservoir cover is ok (O ring rubber) it could also cause overheating if it is not okay.

Bros if you dey Lagos State, carry your car come itire , after iyana isolo bustop, nah itire best mechanic for golf and Audi cars in Nigeria, they gets the faulty parts inside the itire markets.

My second advice for you,
Remove the thermostat regulator and condemn it. Let the hose from engine block goes directly to the water pump without any blockage .
Remove the water return hose to know whether your water pump is working or faulty, if water doesn't return it means your water pump is faulty.
Remove your radiator , please if there is any leakage on it please don't gum, don't add adhesive, don't give it to iron Smith for welding, please buy another tokunbo direct Belgium radiator from itire or ladipo market it is below 15k.
Check your cooling fan, and convert it to direct without putting relay.
Check for hose leakages.
Drain your engine oil if turns milky it means you have a bad top cylinder gaskets I.e there is a mix of oil and water, change your gaskets.

Take what I will tell you very serious so that mechanic don't finish your money.

I am telling you from experience
Every volkswagen radiator in control by the airflow circuit system, so every time you open your radiator in the morning or afternoon before going out you depressurize it whereby creating air bubbles when your radiator heats up that bubble increases your temperature because is now gas in water.

Don't open your radiator every morning , monitor your water level from the radiator plastic container.

If you must put water in the radiator do it by 4am when the engine is cold.
Don't ever open your radiator during the day to put water.

Do this and monitor the car for two days.

The major problem you have is opening the radiator every day and topping water above the recommended level. Allow space to allow the gas bubble generated by heat from the water to have some space.

Thank me later.

Thank you man, have learnt a new thing today.
I recently got a Volkswagen golf.

This is exactly what it looks like in most Volkswagen models.
And it's been removed once a WATERPUMP is bought.
It's the cause of overheating if not removed and the Purpose of it is to warm up the engine in the morning in very cold and snowy countries as cars refuse to start when in real cold/snow for a long time.
Go to the VW thread to learn. I can't educate you here

Change the radiator to 3 cells. You are having 1 or 2 cells coming wt it. Then from a friend's exprience of Jeta one of the hoses had a tiny mark through which the water leaks on motion only. It was the mechanic of the new buyer that detected it.change or check the hoses

Though I do not have a car yet, a driver shared his experience on Thursday of how overheating problem almost made him sell his sienna car. He spent a whole lot changing parts without any improvement until he met someone who advised him to remove that silencer( hope I got the spelling right?) and check for blockage. I can not recollect the name of the silencer part that blocked but ever since he fixed that the car had been ok. According to him, the blockage would return the heat back to the engine and dry up water. You can try that
Catalyst was blocked..thats what happened

Lol you have no business with silencer or catalyst in this case.
This is VW and not Japanese vehicles.

My good bro. Check the pictures below

is there any need to wash the radiator. I just want a Permanent solution to this

changing the thermostats and reconnecting the fans back to factory settings will stop this overheating permanently right?

From a similar experience of this car
Listen and listen and listen to me. I mentioned listen for you to know that I know what I am saying.
1. Replace the water pump, I am very sure that the blades Javed chopped off and reduce in size, this will not allow proper water pressure to circulate.
2. Check for leakages
3. That radiator needs internal flushing there are too many corrosion inside.
After washing the radiator use Air-condition waste water to fill the radiator, or distill water, this will further remove the corrosion and stop the corrosion.
4. Check the water that goes into the car dash board .

5.
Lastly make sure that water pump is replaced, don't let them confuse you that a chopped pump blade will not cause overheating.

Thank me after u do the above

Check for lickages on the water hose especially the ones behind the engine. They don't always lick except at high temperature and pressure then they let out steam. So its advice you run the engine for at least thirty minutes, off and listen carefully for hissing sound from wick ruptured hose.
I believe that replacing this hose will put an end to the problem.

A friend once told me something about volks and overheating.

Said it usually that plastic reservoir (that round plastic like ball) that's always the culprit.

Once it's broken or has the tiniest hole, over heating starts.

Try change that and look at the one u are buying carefully to ensure its not broken and gummed
