Okay, this makes sense. However, please note that very few managers do a complete clear out. Most times, new managers just buy 3-4 players and win trophies in the first or second season.

It's a mandate, we give you funds 100-150m to sign players, by year 2 you must win trophies or leave, and in year 2, you don't get more than 100m for transfers.

It's working very well. Na only Pep dey do complete clear out because he is a check book manager, meanwhile, I am not sure Bayern allowed him to do that.

Meanwhile, forget this philosophy talk abeg, Na philosophy/DNA/style put us in this mess. again, if things don't work, bring in another manager with fresh ideas (could be different football style) so we can win something abeg.
When I mention philosophy, I'm on about what pattern of play we want to adopt as a club. Looking at Liverpool, after Klopp, do you see them going after Mourinho or Simeone? I think not, rather, they'd be looking at Nagelsmann or Tuchel...

Wolves away not a threat?

Derby match with Leeds? I hope you realize that no matter how bad those guys are, they will definitely going to put up a fight on that day.

With our players always very tired and a manager who would use 15 players all season till they are barely able to move.... we will be alive to see how the season pans out

Oh, got it.

I mean, it's a tough one, if Simeone is going to give you trophies, go for him. Also, any club can go for any manager jare. Success is the main thing.

Your guy should stop selling players for now in the name of clearing deadwoods. Also, he should try to use players on the bench.

This season is going to be a very long one!

It was mentioned earlier that United will play at least 45 matches next season, with it increasing to 50+ based on basic progress (group stage >> R16 etc.), so it's obvious to the blind that depth is important.

However, it is more important that more good players are brought in, makes it easy to seat under-performing ones.

Chelsea already has 3 solid options for the CF role (not counting Michy).

Let's see how the squad looks by the end of the transfer window.

I got that part bro... I'm just being a realist honestly.

I'm 80% certain we will sign Sancho but I dont see us signing more than two players during this transfer window... which isnt going to be enough

I hope they prove me wrong.

This has been the problem.

We went from Moyes with his typical British cross from the wing pattern to LVG with possession football, to JM with ultra-defensive style.

Each manager brings players who fit his style only for them to be made redundant in the next manager’s system.
We need to stick to a system or variants of the same system even if it is with different managers.

Fellaini - Moyes
Schneiderlin, Schweini, Depay, Martial, Blind - Van Gaal

Lukaku, Pogba, Bailly, Lindelof, Mkhitaryan - Mou

Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, James, Bruno - Ole...

See how different managers bought according to their own philosophy. Now, how many of those players are still at the club or starting games?

If you don't get the philosophy point, check how Lopetegui performed when he tried to play possession football at Madrid...

The squad depth is more important this coming season, though some deadwoods needs to cleared. I'm even looking up to Smalling to partner Maguire at the heart of our defence next season. Smalling has improved alot during his loan spell at AS Roma. Depth too at our RB because I don't believe in Tuanzebe, LB- Shaw is prone to injury & Brandon Williams need back up, DMF- Fred is still useless & Matic is ageing, and a well established CF- Martial is not a naturally 9.

I see your point. But Madrid sacked him no? Zizou is more like a counter-attack merchant, Mou was ultra-defensive, and both contributed to Madrid's success in the last 10 years. I feel like randomness guarantees success. Most managers have different philosophy, and that's what can give you success. Because they will come, do their thing differently and fail or win. Just ensure they dont spend heavily and stupidly in the name of trying to exert their philosophies. The Glazers have been too nice abeg.

The good thing about what’s currently on at the club is that OGS has set a system that another attacking coach can benefit from, albeit quality input of similar players.

If a defensive coach comes in, the club automatically goes back to square one.

Reminds of Pep switching his goalkeeper four times just to get one that can play to feet.

The manager can prioritize competitions. He doesn't need to compete for every competition

Zizzou benefitted from the manager who came before him, not Mourinho.

Also, experimenting with managers of different philosophies is the reason we are here and saddled with dead woods.

Mourinho and LvG were serial winners. Why didn’t they win the league or the UCL with United?

I just checked our last fifty matches and found out that we lost just 9 of them.

50 matches

loss: 9
draw: 13
win: 28

we should learn how to stop drawing games.

Kwantinue.
Mention a single team that has been winning trophies by sacking coach up and down after going three or four years without trophy.
Liverpool started winning trophies in the third or fourth season of Klopp. Chelsea has a stabilized team.

In the last 10 years, most successful clubs (in terms of trophies, e.g. Madrid, Juve, Bayern, Barca, Chelsea,) in Europe have hired between 8 and 10 managers. Average of 0.8-0.9 manager per season.

There is no time for DNA and philosophy, abeg.

Klopp this, Klopp that! In his first season at Liverpool, he got to finals of the league cup and Europa league. Who would not have kept a manager that did those things within 7 months?

I think he got to UCL final a year or two years later before winning it last year. He also did top 4 consistently from 2016-17 (a season after he was signed) till last season.

Dimitar Berbatov: "I find McTominay’s situation really strange. He is fit and ready, he got his contract extension, but he doesn’t play. Is it because Matić and Fred play really well? I am not sure, but I like him a lot."

Ole is a manager of favouritism ..He has players he doesn't touch ..even if they are not inform he ll still play them..
McTominay u were there when the squad were shambles .we ll not forget...its a pity Ole chooses his favourite ahead of u..

Mac is to basic..
Collect. Turn pass. Block.

Matic brings a whole lot more.. He's constructive. He breaks up play.. He can play a long pass. And he has a very tough shot. Experience too.

Fred is fast and expensive.
