Even when her mum says exactly what the dr says..trust me if you dont respect ur mum,you can't respect anyone.

Just cause she disagrees with her mum doesn't mean she doesn't respect her. Is her mum a fountain of all knowledge?

Please get that woman all the help she needs and stop whining on NL jor.

If at all he'd understand ur sarcasm.
Marriage is not for everyone o... Not kids especially.
Keep coming to NL to update us on ur failure as a husband o don't go and make your young home work be seeking validation from NL where even yaba patients are members.

Find a way to talk to that woman. She cant be difficult. The love u have for that child no reach her own, so try and understand her point of view and reach a peaceful conclusion.

I'm just tired of the endless whining of people about their spouses on this forum. It's like they are not even willing to put in any work in their marriage or someone told them marriage is cold stone and Dominoes.

People should be given a psych eval before they are allowed to marry, honestly.

And if the next woman decides to feed your second child with pap and amala, you'd divorce her and move on to the next one right? You ain't maritally mature yet.
I'll know,we'll discuss it dont worry.I have learnt my lessons.

When you know she has these traits you obviously cant cope with, why did you marry her?

Return her back to her parents house, she's not wife material. How dare she tell you how to feed a baby she carried for nine months and nurtured till 18 months?

Send her packing jor, go and marry another woman that will take care of the baby she didn't carry so she can feed the baby according to your specification. If the new wife doesn't comply, send her packing and marry yet another woman.

Keep marrying new ones till they are ready to do a better job than the actual mother of the child.

Come back and tell us how it goes.

You can be sarcastic all you want but it isn't funny.
What are you trying to imply? That the op's wife has all the rights to do as she pleases to the baby because she gave birth to him?
The father has no say right?

What do i do?

Like I said, send her back home and marry someone else.

I don't get how a mother won't know what's best for her child.

Not all mothers know what is best for their children and that is the truth.
You don't have it all figured out just because you pushed a baby out of your vagina. Experienced people are there to guide you if you're willing.

Having discussions doesn't mean there won't be disagreement on certain things, it's obvious you want a "yes sir" kind of wife, and you will never get one 100%, this is where compromise and tolerance comes in play,

Have more kids with your present wife, try and sweet talk her to listen to you and do what you want, if you actually did this, she wouldn't be adamant to do what she wants.

Please ignore these women who turn everything including a childs well-being into a gender war.

When you get home please make the milk for your son. Alternatively employ a nanny with strict instructions for the child's nutrition.

You can report her to social welfare for child endangerment since she is also ignoring doctor's instructions
Social welfare is in the local government secretariat they take these matters seriously; a visit to the office will reset her brain. Also if you plan to divorce her making a formal report against her improves your chances of getting custody.

So sorry about the pain your baby is facing

My previous comments were sarcastic, I hope you saw through it. Mothers go through a lot nursing their children and no mother will deliberately put her child in harm's way. Tbh, most kids would have stopped breastfeeding at that age and would be on pap or solids.

I'd suggest you talk to an elderly woman she respects or take her to seek counselling.

There are more issues to worry about in marriage than issues like this. If you're getting tired over this small issue, wetin u go come do if one wey big pass this one come?

You don't sound like you still love your wife. Is there a problem like that?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha grin

What you typed up there are all bullsh!t!
So, you think worrying about his child is "small issue" ?
What could be more important than the welfare of your child?

You're just finding unnecessary faults.
From milk to clothing, next will be house chores, or cooking or maybe she's disrespectful.

Haa, let her be.

You as the father, what are you going to do about it?
Are just going to fold your arms and let her do whatever she wants at the detriment of your baby?
Don't allow her stubbornness harm your baby. You seem timid. Baba, shine your eyes!

The kinda advice I read on nl tires me out.

Quietly talk to your wife.
Why was your child not breast fed or was it complemented with milk?
Is milk the new food you want to introduce to a toddler? My son never liked plain milk when he was that age, he'll spit everything out.
Is your child a pickyeater?
What other cereal have you bought?
Beverage?
What happened to other homemade food e.g mashed potatoes, beans with plantain etc. Finger foods like fried potatoes, pancakes, bread, plantains, soft baby carrots etc
Natural fruit juice nko or fruits like Apple, banana etc
The milk can be added in pap or cereal.
Warm water first thing in the morning can help with the constipation.
Or is it only amala that you eat in your house?

Everything is not war, war war.

That woman needs therapy or better education. She doesn't need her husband to be saying he's tired of her.
He is only being human. Someone that doesn't listen to her husband, her own mother and the doctor is someone that can push a person to the brink.

Learn how to care for your child yourself.

Tips to help:

•Don't forget to give him water to drink at least 3times a day (most adults forget that babies can get very thirsty)
•Squeeze out some fresh orange juice and give him to drink everyday, it'll help him pass stool easily.
•Feed him a banana a day at least with a baby spoon.
•You can also learn to purée some fruits like apples or papaya to feed him on some days. He'll enjoy it and it'll keep him healthy.

Eziokwu, and you went ahead and married her okwaya.
So typical.
From milk to clothing to disrespecting you, Dr and her mom
Next will be she insulted your mother etc.
Fault finder.
Always labeling their spouse bad. She should come and give her own side of the story.

Is it only amala that she prepares at home or is that the only thing your child loves? At least is not ogi

I know he/she is being sarcastic but i have made up my mind to end the marriage.I can't spend the rest of my life with a woman that doesn't listen to me or to her mum or to dr's advise.
First things first, who does the woman listen to in her life? cheesy
There has to be one person, at least...

Perhaps knowing who this person is, will provide a clue as to the source of her attitude.

My G O in church some Sundays ago raised alarm about intolerance in most marriages now.

People not up to 3 months in marriage talking about divorce. One guy because the wife can't cook is contemplating divorce, in fact has packed out of his home

It was actually very funny

There is more to this story than meets the eyes.
You seem hell bent on doing what you have in mind which begs the question as to why you brought this matter here.
There's a saying that to settle the problems between a husband and wife you must know the full story.

I believe the solution to your problem ( If you're even interested in a solution) would best be given to you by either your parents or a wise elder, a religious person who both of you respects and can sit the both of you down and talk to you or if none of the former exists you can get a marriage counselor.

You are your child's father. You and both have equal rights over your child. If you've consulted a pediatrician and it's been confirmed that what the child needs is a change of diet then enforce it.
No one has any right to harm a child just because they are it's parent.
