onegentleguy: I posted wapco as a stock that will surprise the mkt b4 any member here and i still stand on it. just trying to reason why wapco selling at currentprice with the superb result compare to others in the same sector. if u compute earnings growth rate of those company may be you will understand where am coming from. cash flows is very important for me while analyzing a stock, wapco had fantastic H1 cashflow so as BUa and DC. BUA is currently selling at premium based on earnings valuation but at discount base on cash valuation. cash i call oxygen is one of the reason bua price refused to fall wapco is currently selling at a discount based on earnings and cash valuations for the first time after years of hardship i say it again wapco is a good stock to buy for me before bua and dc 4 Likes |

Justcul: There's need to be cautiously optimistic with FBNH. Though the coy is a BUY @ the current mkt price, but there are still a few clear worries. ...which could potentially disrupt the thing about its current growth trajectory going into H2, 2020. I'll advise folks to assign more of their portfolio in fellow P2P coys, ACCESS and UBA ahead of FBNH. A 40, 40, 20 or 45, 35 20 percentage weighting in ACEESS, UBA before FBNH, in that order won't be bad idea. Selah 2 Likes |

currentprice: ...I get ur point dear. I agree that CASH and its near term equivalents is indeed very important. On that line, there are 4 KEY factors that determine how a coys CASH flows and transcends to EARNINGS. 1) Cash utilization 2) cost optimization(both from the earnings and expense line) 3) Company' level of innovation and effectiveness 4) Management efficiency These 4 factors are very important. In all 4 lines, I dare say say that WAPCO did very well. On the 1st 2 lines, the coy made the best use of cash(CGPR in view) and tinkered their COST LINE in a way that would delineate it from the supply disruption with the covid-shock at the time. For emphasis, If there are supply disruptions and u truly desire to make the best of the cash at ur disposal to generate positive net margins, then u should know that u ought not to spend the same(previous) amount of money running cost. There's need to spend much less, management may have thought !! What line would require pruning down? Obviously COGS, particularly production cost, since revenue was bound to contract with the corona-induced environment. ...and so they cut down on all lines including electrical energy expense, by-product expense, personnel expense, admin expense, OPEX/overhead etc These reductions, including that from the grossly lowered Finance cost(following recent debt restructuring) ensured a very robust BS. On the 3rd line, the coy was innovative with paying down a huge chunk of their higher interest bearing lines to avoid future cash strain from a possible funding mismatch... and also quickly utilized additional free cash to pay down on other debit line.(i.e the tax credit accessed in 2019 was settled) ...but for that, NPM(net profit matgin) would've printed far higher. Part of the matter of innovation and effectiveness is also why wapco has a great buffer against Fx-related strain to ensure that NWC remains healthy. I mentioned here that that buffer currently stands at no less than 21%. This is one of the key difference btw WAPCO and a coy like FLOURMILLS. FLOURMILLs had a wonderful YE scorecard but Q1report exposed their currency weakness(Fx-related loss in view) And the last line sums up why WAPCO is grossly underpriced. There are lots to say but let just stop at this. There are far more good things to say than bad in that coy bro !! I extrapolate the figures in their statement of CF and the the coys very robust BS, and all I can see is VALUE !! It is well. |

onegentleguy: From little information I have about WAPCO Management inefficiency is the major problem. But they are improving. Dangote really hit WAPCO hard. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 4:27pm On Aug 25, 2020 |
OBAGADAFFI: Good u can admit that they are improving. I was at the forefront of those who criticized the management of the coy for their inefficiency in times past. At the time, I kept screaming that the coy was a SELL when it was trading for btw N47-50. U can dig up my past post for verification. Well, things have since changed. ...and we love to align with change when its clearly POSITIVE !! Regards 3 Likes |

OBAGADAFFI: Yeah right !! Indeed they were very complacent, otherwise they should still hold or at the very least be battling that makt leadership position with Alhaji D. ...especially when u consider their history both in Africa(particularly here in Nigeria) and abroad. That coy ought to be trading at well above N20 by now !! It is well. 1 Like |

Lets not forget dividend of N16,107,798,000.00 for FY19 is yet to leave Wapco books and the over N45 billion short term loan as at June 2020 ending. I think the above will limit Wapco ability to pay good dividend for FY20. Beside the above, I think Wapco is set to go far. currentprice: |
