If this is the case, then getting a replacement for Matic should be the priority after RW. Fred is not a DM and shouldn't be playing that position for united. As for those LB and LCB positions, I believe we can still make do.

RW, DM, LB, LCB in that order...
RW, LB, DM should be the order. we have no RW and almost no LB.

E be like say Solskjaer is working overtime to get something out of this transfer window, despite the people in charge of Transfers in the club dragging their feet.

Small time some people will carry their big mouth to accuse the man of being clueless and not having a transfer list grin
Characters just plenty for this thread grin
Lol, he is still clueless sha. tongue

"I’m a midfielder that likes to go into the box – making runs, goals, assists. A lot of the time, I cover a lot of distance in games"

If what he said up there about his style of play is true, then we might just have to let Pogba go if any serious offer comes in. No harm meant lord weed.taker
so we are buying for depth of the squad and at the same time selling the starting players. how thoughtful cool

Manchester United will settle for less than the €20m + €3m loan request they originally wanted for Chris Smalling, and AS Roma will end up paying €18m (€3m loan fee last season, €3m loan fee this season, €12m obligation to buy).

Only way to counter a buy-back clause is to sell the player before he matures fully, and that’s bad business. Lose - Lose.

Some clause even require that the previous club has the power of first-option to buy back the player, before negotiating with any other suitor.

Madrid has at least 2 LBs with star potential, not counting Marcelo. They have Mendy & some guy in their youth team that just won UYL. They’re just scared that Sergio might turn out better than the other LBs, based on the level of training the potential club will give him.

I don't see why any club will accept that.
Highest I will take is a loan.

This van der sar Sabi work sha. He has transformed the club since he became the club's Director over the years, both financially and football wise.

I don't know why the Glazers cannot just appoint the man as the club's Director of football in charge of football activities and leave Woodward with the financial activities of the club
Why should he leave Ajax (where he’s CEO) and come to Man Utd to be Director of football?

I wonder.

If they need Ajax Director of Football then appoint Marc Overmars.

Another point sha. grin

Aside from the job title that will be somewhat lower to what he has at Ajax, I believe he will be better paid at United compared to Ajax.

However, he's in his home country, I doubt he will want to leave the place to come to England for a stressful job at United. Moreso, Van der sar might end up in FA administration level in Netherlands in future if he has the ambition, in which the Ajax job is just the launch pad

So I'm just going to wait and watch VDB play for 10 games or so before I jump on the hype. I hope he settles in quick and dominates matches for us

Exactly.

And I don’t even think anyone has hyped him yet. People are just happy that Ed, Matt and their team of sharwamas have managed to get us a new player.

Furthermore, I don’t think there’s much expectation placed on him like Pogba and Bruno. Hope he does fine at OT though.

His reasonable transfer fee also helped in this regard. Ajax is a classy club.

Really? Wait until he has a run of bad games or drop form. We will start to hear that he should learn from Lingard shocked shocked

Haba. cheesy

That happens to every player.

Most people don’t expect him to hit the ground running and I don’t think many Utd fans see him as a starter at this moment.

But if the midfield isn’t working and he can’t offer more than other midfielders when he comes on he’ll be dragged. Continuous flopping is the problem he must watch out for, not a bad game or couple of games.

I think Lingard is done here.
