I have but it's just a few. The 30 minutes expires and I have to request again, calls are few on Mondays but today, it is fewer... grin
What interval are you using cheesy grin
Habe tried different variations, still nothing.

I used 1 to 100 this last call I got grin
But all the calls I've worked on today are really poor audio... Maybe because it's Monday. Tomorrow will be better.

hello all, how do one get started on this?
Re: Self Employment Opportunity: Transcribing For A Living In Nigeria 2020 Part 2 by PattyMike(m): 7:34am On Sep 08, 2020
I've not been transcribing for the past 5 months but I got accepted on the same platform as samsad. I wrote the test first time last year December and failed woefully, I tried again by early March and passed. They said I can try again after 45 days or so if I failed before. But then like I said, if I didn't shut out QA I would never have seen a new opportunity and utilised it. It's a different hustle from transcribing and I did it from late March to Mid June and made X8 my entire income on QA since I started which I saved up and got back to trading BTC and gift cards etc. So now I'm back to my old business grin grin grin. Which would not have been possible if I didn't look outside. My message is not for everybody tho, only those that wish to grow. Chief Nwa, pls don't lick anybody's arse especially someone u know is a horrible human being just cus u want to make a living. Before QA u have been surviving and after QA u will still survive.
Even on slack people still post screenshots and they are only told to bring it down, slap on the wrists. We broke the rule, we apologize and it won't happen again but why threaten to shut everyone from the country out, dehumanize ur "employees", insult the whole country, insinuate that we are being illegal with PayPal (indirectly calling us fraudulent).
I complained severally that nobody should post answers for QA tests to the Newbies, it's just stupid to give out answers to prospective workers.
The threats and derogatory comments are what I have issues with, QA is the ONLY platform that treats workers like this. Even those who didn't break rules on slack are still treated like dirt. It's unfortunate really.

Lol... This life can really be funny sha. So some people (domain traders) used the Labor day as a means to do outbound for end-users which they would hopefully benefit from. While we the transcribers are kinda having a tough week, little or no calls. It will get better though.

Guys, try Verbit dot ai. A friend message me that his application of around April was accepted just yesterday on the platform. So try your luck.

I was about to post about this platform, too. Nice one @ Toluxe. You guys should try this site: verbit.ai. The files are not too difficult to handle, and those of you coming from QA World will definitely shine here. They have AI generated transcripts too, and they also have a video - most of the time - to refer to when transcribing (kind of makes the work a bit easier). It seems they're accepting new transcribers now, so now may be the right time to apply. They may take some time to get back to you since the test is graded by a human - not 100 percent sure, but it's very likely. The pay rate might be low, but it's definitely do-able. Here's a screenshot of the workspace and payment for some jobs (I made sure to block info that might lead to issues with the company, like the case with QA World): https://ibb.co/LhG3ZBh So, that's it. Cheers.

Any higher pay rate? Or is it capped at $0.15? I took the exam, too, not too far back, yesterday, I think. Fingers crossed it works out well for me. smiley

You can reach out to transcribers that you know for them to join the slack channel... Thanks.

Hmm.. maybe it's about time we asked for a review of the payment, cos it's gotten really bad recently if we are being honest. Since y'all have this kind of influence already, why don't we use it to at least try and make a difference. I believe Nigerians make a large chunk of the better transcribers on QA. And having her setup a thread for us is one of two things, either to monitor our activities lol grin grin, or admission that we are in fact some of their better transcribers on there. I don't know mehn....

If you and Elanyraceey cannot perform the task of an SCC, to me, the Slack channel is of no use.

That's why the channel was created at first. To help newbies answer questions. This thread here is just to let our people know that one can earn through this process. Once they get on board, they get invited to the channel and their questions are answered.

Well, as long as you're not violating the rules while you're earning, it shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think it's such a bad idea having a Slack channel. It might have its 'bad' side, yes, but I don't think it's altogether bad. We can use it to our advantage if we play our cards right. Like someone has said, maybe even seek redress for the pay rate.
I joined QAWORLD sometime in June, so I've seen more than enough to know 'madam' Arlen can be 'tough'. But that not withstanding, look on the bright side and keep moving. And when another opportunity comes to 'port', you port.

LMAO grin grin grin grin.... Honestly, I do see the new slack channel as a 'leash' for all Nigerians on QA, the only plausible reason for that is to monitor us all, and get more information on how to control us more from there.
But again, honestly, we all deserve the 'leash.' I mean, if 'madam at the top' didn't find out about the old thread I wonder what it would have turned into. Some of us here, proudly and openly flouted about a dozen of QA's rules, giving out answers to the test, dropping step by step guides to downloading the audio, dropping screenshots of the platform.
My people, we all should be thankful QA didn't respond with much worse ways than just this.

Forget pay rate matter. It is what it is. Like she said, other transcription companies dey. She advised that its the management decision and will remain so for now. Put yourself in her shoes. If you were the one and your clients are trying to take a hike, what would you do? She may sound tough but she is also trying her best. There is Scribie.com too for those that want to join. Their test is not difficult too and once you're approved, you're good to go. You don't need to wait for calls all day long like QAW. But their CPH ranges from $5 to $8/10.

And yes, like you said, if the opportunity for porting comes, you port.

Also, I do hope there are some transcription companies that pay their transcribers as much as $1 and more per AM. Most tunes its for those based in the US/Canada/UK/Australia.

Sorry for the late reply, I don't frequent Nairaland quite often. If I can remember correctly, you need to pass that section with a 100 percent accuracy to be able to access the test audio. Try checking for errors in the quiz section and answer all the questions correctly, then you can proceed. Hope that helps, Casmiry.

There is a site that pays you for writing articles, blogs, papers, etc, for people. Someone referred the site to me just 2 days ago, so I don't have an account on the platform yet. But I will apply to it soon, I just wanted to share it with the hustlers (in a good way) here. Apparently they pay their ICs generously. And there's a lot of people that patronize the company, so there's a lot of work there - the referrer's words though, not mine. You have to research the topic of the job you accept and submit it on time, with the best possible quality in both grammar and punctuation. And doing so on a consistent basics gives you access to more time-sensitive jobs, which in turn leads to better pay. This is the site: https://panel.thecontentpanel.com/account/register

May be it differs. I got 80, I was allowed to proceed to the audio test. My challenge is that it's not completely compatible with mobile devices even with desktop mode while trying to edit the audio it closes my keyboard. Anyway I'm still team QA
