Forget the topic am sure you got the idea.

There is this whatsapp TV that I have been following for a Long time and the guy always advertise MBA Investment Trading and How I can get 100% of my investment in 48hours, After various testimonies he kept displaying I decided to give it a try.

Firstly I messaged him for details and he told me all the bla bla bla of How it works. I was only interested in the part Where I will get my money doubled.

Fast forward to After I sent him the first 5k he said that one was for registration that now I should invest, at that point I began to suspect Fowl play but my 5k was already inside let me just see it through, so I added the 10k.

Next day he was complaining that it refuse to invest and that the platform for 10k investment was giving issues that if I have 5k I should add so that he can add up and invest 15k and I will get back 40k, I told him that was all I had.

The story is getting to Long. Long story short he kept giving one story or the other then it was clear to me that I have been scam. I was so ashamed that I did not tell anyone.

Then I mailed my bank about the matter and asked them if there is any resolution. They replied that I should take a screenshot of the conversation Which I did.

It's a month Plus now I have even forgotten about the issue when the Scammer messaged me pleading that he will refund me the 15k because he got a letter from his bank threatening to freeze is account if he does not resolve issues with me. I was finally able to get my money back. I have messaged my bank about the refund and I hope they relay the message on time to his bank.
Because of your greed you went to bother banks that much, you are lucky banks are now in a better position to fight fraud if not otherwise will be the case

See how the proactive steps taken by Zenith bank on such a small matter will give them more customers. For those complaining about First Bank I'm sure they assume the money involved is too small to be bothered. Good job Zenith bank.

If it were GTB they will do all they can to protect the fraudster. I called my bank GTB immediately I read this your post and they told me that i should go to the police . I was scammed by an investment firm on the 21 of August

exactly what first bank and accessbank to me go and get a police report and a court order before dey can follow up the matter I only have the scammer full name don't have his account number because I just copied and paste then send.

Yeye people. They allowed fraudsters to use the banking system and instead of them to clean up their mess and update their KYC on the customer they are playing the ostrich. It's not their fault. Assuming the CBN had a good deterrent for faulty KYC , they'll do better

My Stanbic IBTC knows nothing about customer protection. The bank itself can scam me if I'm not careful

His bank should still invite him for questioning and serious warning otherwise he will do it to some other people. He will just go under for a while then resume activity later. So they should caution him.

How about the other people he might have scammed like this in the past?

Hahaha! This sounds weird, but you have a point.

Imagine if it was false allegation, with photoshopped screenshots as proof, that is how they would have frozen the innocent guy account for nothing.

I am sure GTB and Firstbank wouldnt do such, until you bring police report and court order.
What false allegation? There is an account statement showing funds transfer to the other person and he showed evidence with screenshots...what else? Probably his bank threatened to freeze his account to test his resolve. if he was not a fraudster, he would have written to the bank to prove his innocence. I agree with you that a sworn court affidavit/Police report should have been requested. Atleast something good has come out of our whacked system in this country.

The same thing happened to me too on the same whatsap TV and I sent messages immediately to my mumu first bank and nothing was done by the bank uptill now and I strongly believe that first bank is encouraging fraud in nigeria like seriously
I remember when I experienced this kind of thing. I walked to first bank branch in Owerri, the manager said I should get a court order before them do anything,I got a letter from the court that same day then the first bank manager said...the court order meant I should take the person to court in absentee then the court will give me an order na so I do my 5k bye bye and my first bank account don go dormant since then.

For those of you gingering to go and open Zenith account because of this 1/10 success rate in refund, just don't waste your time. Try as much as possible to stay away from double ROI scams and ponzi schemes. Zenith was able to force a refund in this case because the scammer in this case is still a JJC in the scam business. The chronic scammers in this type of business steal dead peoples account details to perpetrate this kind of scam, some even hack into idle bank accounts to do so too. So joining Zenith cannot help you when you fall into an advanced scammers trap, the only solution is to prevent it from happening.

It's not only about recovering funds from scams alone but it shows they hold their customers irrespective of how much you save with them at high regards... do you know the stress one go through to even get your account upgraded or reversal issue fixed in banks like gtb or first bank? You will have to visit them countless times with their bossy cashiers and customer care reps

Email your bank with all your evidence of transaction and interactions and copy EFCC and CBN anti-fraud unit in the mail. You will get a response though no guarantee that you will get your money back but it is worth a trial. Make sure you're mailing the right address o, you can take to Google to confirm the email addresses of your bank, CBN and EFCC.
I will , but I tweeted firstbank and accessbank even went there in person the first thing both said was bringing police report and court order before they could follow up.
