oh Lord my God. Now this is premium something.

Did the welder complete the overlay or you did it yourself
My brother, I had to fight the welder before he returned part of the money, I found someone else to do this one again.

I think you have to first realize that even if people are doing things different from how you are, they have their own rationale.
As a person who prefers fabricating locally over importing, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt, e.g.:

- CNC laser cutters are far more expensive than these plates, so for one offs, you're better off with the precut plates
- There is skill and labor involved, which haven't really been developed yet. With time, yes, but no client wants to be the guinea pig.
- CNC requires computer... not too many metal yards (outside Lagos) have the clean environment a computer requires (for now)
- Parts are not off the shelf (yet). If the laser goes kaput (or like happened to me once, the freaking power supply dies in the middle of a cutting session), you're out of commission for weeks.
- We're not even mentioning the power supply needs.

Why assume all this risk when the client can just put up the funds to import?

Like you, I'm not happy with this situation, but things change really quickly... I won't be surprised if there's some fellow in Onitsha today gearing up CNC for production grin grin
We can do laser cutting for you in Lagos (Jubaili Bros Engineering Limited) depending on your design and specifications.

Our wooden overlay on the wrought iron handrails of this house,
Oga Spyder, I love the wooden on the handrails.
I had same made with mahogany wood for my project.
My carpenter then (Mr. Sova) did the wooden part, he has since dissapeared from Nairaland.
Lovely Sir. Keep up the good work.

The architect that drew this house, (a Nairalander) won't be happy if I divulge the details of his work online. I guess you should approach him for details of the drawings. Thank you Sir

Thanks very much for your response. My question was innocently asked because i was just curious about how wide the house was and by extension marveled by the massiveness of the building. I never in any way want to know the specifics or further details other than the question i asked. Once again thanks for educating us your students.

All Architect in Nigeria now uses meter.. if you want to know this in feet, there are many options that will convert from meter to feet for you online. I am also familiar with feet/inches than with meter. So I just convert it's roughly around 3ft to 1meter for rough conversion. I hope that answer your question.

Good morning my Oga Fhemmmy, it's been long Sir. There has been no aspect of this work which the cost is hidden. I have been answering all questions about the total cost of doing every bit of work in this site and others, except those that are still ongoing, but if you want the cost of any item of work in any of my projects, just ask and I will provide you with the cost.

In the beginning of this thread, I mentioned the total budget, then as the finish started, we have been agreeing on different items of work and they are being executed on different budgets. Thank you Sir.

Sometimes I don’t know how our people think. So the have to import those plates and make it a killer in price, when the could buy ordinary CNC laser cutters to cut those patterns in record time, probably cut 100 per hour. What a shame.
Yes. CNC lathe machines will do a perfect job!

It's a shame that despite knowing how to use write NC and use Computer Numerical Control, it's not easy for an individual to afford a lathe machine.

The ones i saw in U.I. are just for training students.
