Good morning, with 2.2, you’re unlikely to secure a master’s admission successfully. PGD or PGC (post graduate diploma/post graduate certificate) is a good fit. If you apply for an undergraduate degree, you’ll need to explain to and convince the visa officer in your letter why you need another undergraduate degree and this won’t be easy I must say. There is no easy way for anything, please start reading this thread from page 1, read it gradually and your knowledge will grow and you’ll understand how Canadian study permit applications work. If something isn’t clear, feel free to ask the group. All the best.

Mr Frank I need your advice ,as a graduate with 2.2 in civil engineering . , Should I apply for masters programs or go for undergraduate University visa. Which one of them will be more quicker in getting a visa and less costly. I really need to leave this country.

I applied for my study permit sometime in September. Biometrics request and background check followed immediately.
I got Medical request in less than a week.
I should also mention that I got admission into two top schools (masters program) within record time.
I didn’t rely on how good my applications might look, but I held on to faith in God, that my case will be different.
When I applied for my study permit, I prayed that my application will not exceed 1month by Gods grace, not knowing it would take far less than a month.
Also for my admissions, I specified the week I would receive admission from the two schools. Lo and behold, the admissions came one day apart in that specific week. Nothing is impossible with God! This story is just tip of the iceberg of how powerfully I have experienced God.
All things are possible for anyone who has faith in God. Let’s always rely on God, I promise, people would think you are doing jazz...lol
Please I’m not saying don’t do the hard work oh, but don’t put your faith in your hard work. So many “perfect” applications have been rejected.
My final advice - don’t just pray, be specific in your prayers, it shows your level of faith before God.
Peace!
Congratulations!

Wow! Any reason for the failed eligibility? I can’t see any as the VOs final notes looks positive.

House pls vet this note. So sad this VO are like this.

Still yet they sent medical request on the 22nd July when they have failed eligibility since May.

Good day guys, I’ll like to make an enquiry. My daughter took her medical exam upfront (after we’ve submitted her study permit application and she’d received her AIP) but few days later, IRCC sent her medical exam request . The clinic asked me to scan her eMedical information sheet via web form to them...which I did. It’ll be 30 days soon and no update on her GC key account. The web form was acknowledged and the agent responded that the attached document was forwarded to the relevant desk. Is there any need to do another test? I’ll appreciate your thoughts and opinions on this. Thanks #CanadaStudyPermit #Undergraduate

From what I see, the first VO assessed you positively but somehow, the same VO or another one reassessed your file and changed your eligibility status to failed. Something is wrong along the line. Maybe there's a mixup. I would raise a webform if I were you, especially if indeed you got a medical request. I am assuming that you didn't get an AIP because you didn't mention it but if you did, kindly tell us.

Don't slide into despair. Good news may yet come your way.

2.1 is the minimum requirement for Masters.

With your 2.2 in Civil Engineering, it's a PGD/PG. Cert in a Civil Engr. related program u should go for cos of academic/career progression, don't even go near undergraduate degree.

No one can tell you your chance or pace of getting Visa.... It's up to the VISA OFFICERS in IRCC processing your Application & also the Processing time for Nigerian Applicants.

In terms of cost, Masters is more expensive, also PGD/PG. Cert is not that cheap aswell, (Note - the tuition International students pay is more than what Domestic students pay).

Visit the website of the schools and check for their TUITION FEE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS so you can know what to budget for

Google & do the research on this schools and the link below for

Based on your last sentence "I really need to leave this country", be very careful, don't make such desperate impression in your study visa application, most especially in your Statement of Purpose (SOP), cos if you give a Visa Officer such impression, the repercussions might not be a pleasant one,
despite you having intention to travel to Canada thru Study Route ,be patriotic and exercise due diligence in your Study Visa Application

Good luck Honorable

There's nothing to scan through again. Obviously she's qualified, I just hope this update of 57,000 AIPs given won't affect future application review maybe that's why that guy in the video said we should stop putting in application for now

Maybe there's a bench mark for the year

Lol please keep calm and stop trying to make connections where there isn’t any. The guy in the video said he doesn’t think applications are being assessed carefully because they might be rushing to clear back log. So I’m not sure how you made this connection and reached this conclusion. In all we do please let’s keep calm and not create panic. Thank you

@wolepopo: Congrats on your daughter's progress!

I have a similar experience. I did medical upfront a week ahead and waited until IOM confirmed medicals have been submitted to IRCC before submission of my SP application. So I actually attached the IOM final E-medical slip sent to me as pdf showing list of all exams conducted and sent. I received biometric and medical request within days so I was advised to raise a webform to the Nairobi office which I did. I have since raised another webform to the Central IRCC center and sent email to the Nairobi office. I only received auto-response to my email and that was all. Am counting days to the 30-days timeline and I hope send another email and maybe a webform every week until this is resolved. So you are not alone in this situation as I have heard similar stories on here. Let's keep hope alive.

BTW, folks I want ask again, will one get email notification when the application is updated with the medical report or we just need to continue sign-in and check multiple times a day?

Thanks.

Good morning house. I just received a final decision on my study permit application that was submitted 48hrs ago. They said my application was rejected. I submitted my application on September 21 (last Monday) , got biometric request letter on Tuesday and yesterday I got a refusal message! Please what is going on? Could it have been that I did something wrong?

Sorry to hear about that. I think the practice here is for you to send a list of your academic and personal profiles and plus main documentation submitted here so you can get some substantive feedback. I think you should also request for your GCMS notes.

Hello, I’m sorry to hear about your refusal. Could you share your profile (age, previous course studied and level, course applied for and level, how much and what proof of funds you showed, any work or study gap, current employment, did you use a sponsor? How is your sponsor related to you etc) and the documents you submitted. That way gurus in the house might be able to make speculations on what might have gone wrong. What reason was given for the refusal? Lastly, the best way to know the exact reason is to order your GCMS notes, google GCMS notes and you’ll see how to order it, it’s costs about $12 or $5 dollars if a Canadian citizen/PR orders it for you. The notes will show the visa officers comment on your refusal.

Hello Nairalander,

About two hours ago I received a correspondence letter from IRCC on the Validity of my Biometrics, (BVL) I guess this is automatic refusal as earlier state in the thread.

I applied on the 6th of August, 2020, I did my Biometrics on the 31st of August. 2020.
No medical request
No AIP

Anyways I was about to order my GCMS note but PHCN has disappointed as usual. Raining heavily here.

Please confirm if the Consent form for GCMS NOTE Is the ATIP CONSENT FOR IMM15744.

What you got was BCL, not BVL.

BVL comes much later, usually a day or some hours before you get a final decision.
