My certificates have become useless. I graduated in 2008, passed out of NYSC in 2010. Till date I have not used my certificates for anything. What I am regretting in my life now is time I wasted in the university. My wife graduated in 2015, she is now learning tailoring because she couldn't get a job too.

I think it's time we advise our colleagues, younger siblings and friends still in Uni to ensure they learn a skill before graduating. They need to learn something that would put naira and kobo in their bank account. It's saddening that lots of them still rely so much on white collar jobs that is not available if you don't have the link except Grace.

The issue of unemployment is all over the world. Ours is just obvious due to non availability social security, soft loans etc for the unemployed and physically challenged.

Stop using your phone to post or read nonsense messages on social media. Use your phone to ask questions on Google. What skills can a law student learn? What available skills do we have in Nigeria? How to learn online business?

Stop reading front pages trending and new post on NL. Start reading recent, follow business oreinted post and ask questions.

Ensure you bury your head doing something worthwhile. If you start small while in Uni, upon graduation, you will be a Master.

You ask what I did while in Uni. I was a great hustler. Every available opportunity, I leverage on it asap. I did Jamb regularization when scratch card was still in vogue, school registration, course form, assignment, project etc. That's where my strength lies. Trust me, I was a big man. The links I created back then is still paying till date though, I have learnt new skills. All these, I learnt on NL.

Guy join quora, be an active reader 2 months nothing in this Earth u won't know about, I finished 5years ago apart from msc clearance that hasnt worked yet I never use my B.sc do anything.

I came out with 2.2 so I am not really interested in looking for job, I just want to keep expanding my business.

My brother I greet you. There is this growing mentality among our youths of today, especially in Nigeria, that school is not important. One even had the shamelessness to burn his certificates and post it online and some were praising him. Meanwhile when he gets sick he runs to the doctor or pharmacist who went to school. He uses phones designed by engineers and tech specialists who excelled in school, etc. In my opinion (and lot of people seem not to comprehend the meaning of this term, by the way), school hardly fails people, it is the people who fail themselves. The syllabus or system of teaching may not be as good as it should be, but the onus is usually on the student to study and research for himself. The university is supposed to be a place of research, not waiting for the lecturer to come and dictate notes for the students to memorize and "pass" exams.
