Good news for those that paid for IHS beyond 31st March 2020.

You can now apply for every past 6months till its completed.

Below link for application

https://immigration-health-surcharge-reimbursement.service.gov.uk/

And further guidance
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/health-and-care-staff-can-claim-immigration-health-surcharge-reimbursement

IHS should be scrapped for those in the UK applying for visa extension, this is like double taxation, people pay the IHS during visa and still when they get here and start working.

This seems to be for health workers only.

Yes for now though, who knows whats going to happen next. Hopefully they realise its an extortion from Tier 2 immigrants

I agree. We don’t even mind if they don’t scrap it for dependents. That’s still understandable because some dependents don’t work.
It just seems fraudulent to be paying IHS and still continue paying NI.

They know it’s an extortion but no one to question them on it. Unless there’s enough publicity on it, nothing will change.

Is there a way to protest against this? Just imagine paying for a family of 4!

That is a huge amount of money and you have to pay again for next visa extension. This is really unfair.

Do HMRC audit personal bank accounts if you dont have a business .... I dont think so oo and wanted to ask when I saw that comment

Now if this money you are using it and officially declaring it as an income for visa purposes then fair enough ..... but if u are not declaring it as an income for visa purposes then why cant it be a gift from naija . If my mother sends me regular money from naija then that cannot be taxed

There also an issue of double taxation. If you are taxed in nigeria then hmrc needs to give tax relief so you dont pay double tax on that money

It all depends on what exactly you are doing with that money from abroad

HMRC doesn’t audit personal bank accounts but the bank can flag the account and start asking annoying questions, if the money is too much and if the money is from abroad (especially Nigeria)

Just the other day, First Direct called Mrs and was asking me to explain all the moneys in my account from as far back as January for amounts as little as £1k transfers. They even asked about some money I sent to Nigeria using moneyFex. Told them I had a business and that’s how they let me off the hook. But they still sent me a self cert form to fill.

It depends on the bank sha.

Na so we dey pay am. A family of 5 oo.

But the good thing is the new guidelines allows dependant on Tier 2 visa claim if they are health workers as well, even if the main applicant isn't on the Tier 2 health care visa.

This shouldn't be only for health care workers, this should include all other non-health care immigrants as well

You can use the app without the token though undecided

umarwy:

Mine stopped working a while ago, it keeps saying wrong pin/create a pin.

And after contacting GTB they directed me to NRN department which is another story.

My advice for everyone get a token before leaving naija

What is the difference between world app and the standard one?

Have you never been profiled for Internet Banking before? Appears you're just creating a new Internet Bank profile

The GT World app was meant to be the bank's bridge between a conventional banking app and the social media world... has a little bit more features

Ok so try login with your Internet bank details and see if it allows you in. If you've forgotten it and it have your card pin, click on Sign up and navigate to the Existing Customer option, click on it to try retrieve your credentials online.

Logging in to internet banking is not a problem at all, retrieving the pin or getting a token is the problem, i have tried using *737*7# still it doesn't work.

The biggest prob i guess is the fact that my card has expired so i can't use it as part of verification process which is required.
