Hello gurus in the house. My son got a student visa to Canada but the school just announced that January classes will be done online. Will he be allowed in into Canada despite the online classes.

I'd be glad to hear for the you. Thank you.

Hello Tracy2020

It’s most likely an approval, as you have passed eligibility and other requirements. Congratulations.

Please share your profile and documents you submitted to help others in the house.

Tracy2020:
Hello Everyone,

I just received my GCMS notes. I have earlier received AIP and Medical request. The notes doesn’t say anything about Approval or not. There are a lot of pages showing different things. I noticed the last page showed Eligibility passed, final pending Medical and Biometrics, but I have already done Medical and Biometrics.

Good day everyone I will really appreciate if someone can please give me a clue of this refusal cuz I'm a lil bit confused.

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status

It means that they're not convinced that you will leave Canada because you didn't substantiate that
you have enough assets and/or enough funds for the trip. Is this a student visa?

This doesn't in anyways relate to AIP or Study permit.

This is mostly for other application type such as Tourism.

Kindly understand and digest the infos well

Online applications still continue till January 31, 2021

Means AIP still continue

Hello Mydream211

Sorry to hear about your refusal

The reasons you were given in your refusal letter are generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes Canada sites” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please order it immediately. From the notes you’ll see the visa officers concerns and you’ll be able to address them properly before reapplying.

How much is your tuition for a year? How long is the course you applied for?
Did you use a sponsor or are you self sponsored?
How much proof of fund did you show? (Money available)

For Canada you need to show tuition for 1 year plus at least 10,000 cad for living expenses (that’s why I asked how much your tuition is)

For purpose of visit, it could be that your sop (statement of purpose) was weak or the course you’re going for does not align with your previous education or line of work.

Meanwhile you can share your profile and all the documents you submitted so the house can advice you while you wait for your GCMS notes.

For your profile you can share
Age
Marital status, kids if any
Previous course studied and level (eg bsc, HND)
Course you’re going for in Canada and level
If you are employed, is your salary okay?
Did you use a sponsor. If yes, Did you sponsor do an affidavit of sponsorship for you?
Did you submit proof of any property or land you own?

All the best

Hello,

You didn’t share your profile, documents or answer all the questions. But I’ll assume you’ve learnt one or two things from the reply.

Don’t forget to order your GCMS notes. Since your brother is a PR in Canada, he can order the notes for you and it would cost 5 cad.

And also try to read this thread from page one to the end to get tips on how to put in a better application for the next.

Best wishes

Please I will like to make inquiries about FairLeigh Dickinson University Vancouver. It’s actually a private University in the USA with a campus in Vancouver Canada.
I want to apply for Masters of Administrative science and the program is eligible for Pgwp.
I will like to know if it’s a good idea going for a private university instead of a public university and the chances of securing a visa approval.

Good afternoon everyone, please I need our candid advice.

I finished my BSC in Mechanical Engineering in a university in UK but I finished with 2.2 hence when I was searching for admission for Masters, I discovered on the school website that I can only go for Advanced Diploma before proceeding for Masters.

Now, the challenge is, how do I explain in my SOP that going for Advanced Diploma is a career progression without mentioning that I finished with 2:2.

My fear is, if I state that I finished with a 2.2, It may reduce my chances of getting Visa Application.

Please this is urgent as I plan submitting my application before the end of this week.

Mentioning your grade won't affect your chances of getting approval.

You should go for a post graduate degree or a postgraduate certificate. I think it's higher than an advanced diploma.

All the best.

hi, it is not really about the grade but the progression, it is like saying someone that has gotten a degree going back to write NECO in nigeria. what kinda of argument do you want to have with the VO. You should go for a post graduate diploma. Good luck

If you have read this forum carefully, several trends back, you will know that your choice of program does not show career progression.

With a 2:2, PGC is the right program to apply for, in a program that is closely aligned with your past degree or work experience.

Getting Admission and paying school fees, even for a year will likely not convince the VO.

But who knows, if you package your app and explain yourself, your case may just end up as one in a hundred.

Good luck

My people, thank you all for the responses.

Hope it's not the Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design Advanced Diploma Program at Centennial College u are talking about ? Yes, it is.

Reading back the thread and searching google, I discovered Advanced Diploma is lower than BSC. Hmmm, I don't know what to do?

How can I explain that this is a career progression? Or should I just keep quiet on this part in my SOP?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Sharonyeah: 4:59pm On Oct 06, 2020
