The reason people prefer Lagos ports has more to do with the people in the eastern coasts.

The coasts of the south south is very insecure and volatile

This is FALSE

An importer told me that it is likely to get a ship going to Lagos more than anywhere else in Nigeria. The same applies to Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja. So, it's an issue of availability and patronage.

If you have been privileged to patrol the Niger Delta waters like I have, you will notice the heavy presence of naval police every inch of the way.

Besides, if the Delta has a major challenge of piracy, then I don't think offshore oil drilling will still be going on in the region.

Only a handful of rail lines? Is that the why Nigerians elected him?

Was it even among his campaign promises?
The list is too plenty those are the ones am sure of.

Like I said Buhari could act like obasanjo and Gej and decide to chop all the money and nothing will happen

Do u know how much those offshore oil rigs pay as security, reason y they don't feel it is cause oil money has high profit margins.

Just the other day in rivers state bonny gun men from the sea stormed a wedding kidnapped people and drove back into the sea, we even heard yesterday that militancy has started in calabar again. The list goes on

I don't get the rationale behind it
.

By now, it should be obvious to all Nigerians that this Buhari is a "Tribesman-Idiotic" (no pun intended).
This Project is a SCAM to divert attention away from the $2Billion, Fed. Govt fuly funded Rail like from Kano to Niger Republic!

A few Questions for our Tribesman President to answer:

- Must all Rail lines end in the North?

- There is a pending Calabar-Ibadan Rail line, which will pass through all the Eastern States, all the South/South states, Delta and Porthacourt inlcusive. Why is that Route not being built now, since it can link the Lagos-Ibadan Line?

- If the Calabar-Ibadan Line is BUILT FIRST, does it not make sense to then link it to Maiduguri, from PortHarcourt, instead of just starting from Portharcourt, to Maiduguri, without the other oarts from Calabar-Ibadan line?

- Is Buhari the Tribesman just making us notice that he is only interested in evacuating Crude Oil from the South/South to the North, hence this PH-Maiduguri line and not the ecnomic welfare of the peopel of Southern Nigeria?

- Why is it that almost all the infratsructural development in the South is always DIFFICULT TO FUND by the Fed Govt, while those in the North get EASILY FUNDED by the fed Govt?
Even the few ones that the fed Govt decides to fund, Buhari will ensure that the money is not released as at when due. The Lagos-Ibadan Express Road, the Lagos-Ibadan Rail line are prime examples.
PROJECTS IN THE NORTH WILL TAKE TWO YEARS TO COMPLETE WHILE THOSE INTHE SOUTH ARE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN 7YRS, DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS?

- How is it that it is Roads and Rails in the South of Nigeria that gets funded by PPP, with the implication of massive Tolling on such Roads and High Ticket fee on such Rail line, as the Investors have to recoup their money back? How come the Rail and Roads in the North dont get tolled like those in the South, if not for the Nepotism of the "Idiotic Tribesman" we elected into ofiice?

ONE NIGERIA IS DEAD and BURIED by Buhari, you can take that to the bank.

Southern Nigerians should not be fooled by this Portharcout-Maiduguri Rail decoy.

Amaechi is just an errand boy fo the Fulani Cabal and he says what he is asked to say.

I know it is, my question is what is the economic importance compared to Lagos? Lagosians deserve the right to live without traffic. If traffic is solved in Lagos, it will make the place a lot more better to live.

Let's manage what we have seen, its same narrow guage that connects both north and south, north no complain y we want complain?

Why must we manage when we can do better...the Lagos _ Ibadan rail line was formally narrow gauge but upgraded to standard gauge and it is to transverse all the way to Kano eventually...why the fvck will they insist on maintaining the old narrow gauge that is limited by speed on which the coaches can cruise...at a time when the world is going on high speed trains and phasing out the old guage rails suited for the sluggish moving locomotives.

Infact I'm disappointed at you for posting that.

After more than three decades delay, President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday inaugurated the 326 KM Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri rail line for commercial operation as well as the ancillary facilities yard at the recently named Goodluck Jonathan Railway Complex in Agbor (Owa-Oyibu), Delta State.

At the virtual opening of the rail line linking Itakpe to Warri, President Buhari directed the Federal Ministry of Transportation to link all the nation’s ports of origin and destination – Apapa, Tin Can, Warri, Onne, Calabar Ports – to the rail network in order to significantly improve overall transportation and economic capacities.

I think all the rail projects will connect at a point

I then wonder the 'outside Nigeria' you have been to with this your statement.

Trains till tomorrow remains the cheapest and cost efficient means of transportation both for people and goods. Even developed countries with the best of roads network also have railway lines within the country & linking them to other countries .

But can the politicians in nigeria deliver their audiof promise despite the billions they approve for the construction ?

Smh

I wasn't referring to trains as a whole seems it's hard for you to comprehend?

I said we don't need a link bye ph and maiduguri

Simple !!! Link it to Lagos and instead repair all the federal roads linking south to north

Make them concrete casting and even a 300 tonne submarine won't damage them

You need to leave Nigeria and see how things are done

Fantastic project.

Every igbo man should support this .

Linking Bonny port to PH to aba to owerri is great!!

Anything to decongest Lagos is accepted by me.

It’s safer than shipping from Bonny to onitsha through river niger as insurance people won’t insure through that route .
