The Grace Of God: Not A License To Sin by topshore(op): 5:25pm On Oct 13, 2020
Text: Romans 6:12

The grace of God is the unmerited favour and mercy of God towards mankind, and it is by His grace we are saved through our Lord Jesus Christ.

As Christians, we are not to take advantage of this grace by trying to abuse it. Romans 6:14-15.

A lot of Christians, having realized that their sins of past, present and future would be forgiven under the grace through the Blood of Jesus, have started getting lazy spiritually and as such do certain unpleasant things because they feel they can get away with it.

But alas! Grace is not a license for us to go back to our old sinning ways after we have been saved. It simply means that we have now died to sin and thus should no longer live and wallow in it. God's grace is not a basis for us to keep sinning.

God's grace has rather set us free from sin and the power it uses over us and can help pull us out from its death grip..."sin shall not have dominion over us".

God's power supernaturally delivers us and sets us completely free from sin - no matter what kind of heavy sin we might have fallen into because of His grace. There is nothing or nobody that the power and grace of God cannot set free if we are willing to work with Him on it.

Only the grace of God gives us the power and ability to be able to stay out of sin ( not in sin) after we have been saved, especially since we have the Holy Spirit and His power living in us and directing us from the inside.

There will be no excuse for you on the Judgement day, if you ignorantly die in sin, believing you are covered by the grace of God. The main purpose of God's grace is to help us stay "out of sin" through the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us.

Therefore God's grace, Salvation, the Blood of Jesus, Mercy and the Holy Spirit work together all for our good. They are already available for us to live like Christ and enter the Kingdom of God. But there is one thing that can deny us of these: " staying in sin".

Peace!

@OP, the confusion remains that many of you still do not realize what the grace of God really refers to in the case of Jesus Christ. The Grace is in fact the New Covenant, and that covenant requires obedience, not some mental gymnastics like so many of you pretend it offers you. The only free gift that has come to all through Jesus Christ is eternal life... and that gift comes to all those who believe in Him. But the Kingdom of Heaven? It is not a free gift of any kind as it requires work of obedience on the part of everyone who wishes to spend eternity there.
Go through every single one of the parables that Jesus Christ gave His followers, and you will see that whether it be describing the Kingdom of Heaven or works required of the followers of the kingdom, very single of them details work that needs to be done in order to earn enter into the Kingdom or sit back in the outer darkness for eternity.

GOD Bless you Op!

It's the Grace of GOD that keeps us from Sinning!
It's the Grace of GOD that Powers the Believer to stand for Righteousness..
The Grace of God Enables us to Live the life of Christ..
It's the Grace of GOD that gives Courage and Boldness to the Believer in Wicked and Sinful Word..

Bro Paul says" I Can Do all things through Christ that Strengthens Me" . That's what the Grace of God is all about.

Living the Christ like life is not by Power or Grammar! But Submitting totally to God and His Word. By so Doing we become Soaked and Powered by HIS Grace.

The Grace of God is not a License to sin just as you put it..

You are correct. But I have heard this "...
sins of past, present and FUTURES would be forgiven... " severally.

I don't understand how FUTURES SINS are forgiven today.

However, this is how I understand the grace of God:

It is like a sound car ready to carry somebody whose boss said he should go from South to North.

If the servants are to use legs, maybe only one out of 100 may do the trekking.

As many as are now willing, there is a ready car ( God's grace) to carry them through!
