If he was accepted to the rally, the focus would change and govt may use force which might lead to extra judicial killing and clamping down on posters with DSS or Army.

It was done to avoid any political undertone. He would use the platform to push for revolution which would actually come as the protest persist. You can see the government is finding it hard to pitch the protest to anyone. NO LEADER protest. That's the consensus and awesome strategy.

The issue is sowore can hijack (or be assumed to have) the protests and turn it to Smtn their demands are not about now.

It is also best to avoid major political figures coming to lead this protests as it is not about playing politics bt demands for better governance.

His newspaper tried to cast doubt on the Alausa protests because he was not allowed to control it. They spread rumours of bribery.

His newspaper also went after the protest leaders.

This is not revolution now. He should join like everyone else instead of trying to steer the protest.

He did the right thing by disseminating the right information to the public about realities on ground. It could have been against buhari's democratic govt and as a matter of fact, he is doing same thing to the current 'regime'.

We practice democracy, and it is only by being a 'politician' that you can participate in politics, to vie for any office. Sowore like any Nigerian has the right to contest for and hold any political office. Fela was part of a political movement, Mandela was a President under ANC party, it is naive and quite ignorant for youths to attack Sowore because he is a politician. If we leave politics for wolves and vampires, how will change be effected?
