Boss, apart from having strong passports and constant electricity supply, I don't see any other benefits these South American countries have. Most of their citizens that I met online are poor. Their economies depend on Brazil. If I want to go to South America, Brazil would be the destination. Robust economy, easy country to get passport, business opportunities etcetera smiley

I'd try to make research on Chile and see if it's really worth it sha
Check Chile. Check Uruguay. Uruguay is the richest country in South America with the highest number of middle class.

If these countries are stepping stone to USA why aren't massive immigration from these countries to USA? Even Mexico that is sharing border with USA still struggling to migrate there lol
I still don't believe having these passports will make it easy migrating to USA.

Glad to be pulled in here.
I am happy that you are doing proper research before your migration, and that's all sorts of brilliant.

Latin America is really underrated I would say, but for good reason... the language. Once you format your self to reside in any of the countries there for example Chile, you kinda get stuck there because they slowly seep into your soul and you get attached (South American magic) I know a guy who went to Paraguay in the plan that he would relocate to an English speaking country after getting papers... today he is married and settled and loves Paraguay to a fault, he got citizenship but trust me he is indeed a proud citizen, who is not thinking about leaving anymore.

Most Latin American countries actually give citizenship/PRs faster than any other country but these things are not known because people don't naturally tilt towards that region I.e Paraguay 3-4years, Chile 4years, Uruguay 3-4yrs, Brazil could even be 2years depending on what happens to you while there i.e you grab the language fast, you got one of their hot women pregnant, or you earn a very fat salary etc.

However as a black guy I would not recommend Argentina to you, because they have a rather subtle way in which their society sends black people to the background.

Schooling is the best route to go towards Latin America and begin your journey but the procedure can be very longwinded especially since most schools there do not have English speaking admissions personnel.

My stance for Europe remains unchanged... its overated.

Have you considered New Zealand?

Honestly am really very happy that persons are seeing great reasons to post in here and share their experiences.... It's really encouraging

To me I take this thread as my own way to end stagnancy in Nigeria....

Like I said earlier I have an experience which I would share relating to my US and Canada visa pursuit but for now we Move* first

New updates from my research so far

United Kingdom

Getting visa into United Kingdom ryt now is just like getting pure water on d road.... Provided you have the required funds for the process but note at the end you must still pay the money. Let me give the story lines starting first with the

UK

1. Apply for admission which you would end up getting even with a 2.2. though for 2.2 candidate you may do a pre-course here in Nigeria just to fulfil all righteousness, ounce you are admitted you would be lured to pay some deposit just to get you the CAS no usually school fees is upto £14000 you may be asked to pay like 4000 or 3000 £ for you to be issued the CAS for you to use and apply for visa

2. Applying for visa you MUST provide a statement of account having a balance of upto 10-12m which would remain untouched for at least 28days prior to your applying for visa, ounce this condition is met your visa is gauranteed provided you don't have tuberculosis as this is d only medical examination done for UK student applicants

3. Upon getting to the UK you would be required to pay the balance of your full tuition fee before you would be allowed to start school

4. I may not be able to confirm fully this number (4) but from persons I have spoken to there, getting a job in UK is currently hard for students, hence it may be dificult for you to cope unless if you really have the money.

5. For now UK have not implemented the 2years PGWP after studies hopefully they would next year but at the moment status quo remains same dat ounce you are done with school you must return back to Nigeria.

Please those in the UK are free to share their tots on the above pls.... Only verified information is needed, it would go along way in helping someone make a defined decision

Next I would post on is NORWAY

Currently Norway admission applications for autumn is on and it would close for international students by DEC 1

1. Norway is tuition free

2. Most schools in Norway are application free

3. Documents needed for Application for admission
1. Birth Certificate
2. Statement of purpose
3. Data page of international passport
4. Academic Transcript and Bachelor degree Certificate
5. Letter of sponsorship, which must be a very close relative
6. Sponsor or personal Bank account details showing a balance of at least 5.5m as proove of fund for living expenses

4. Ounce admission is granted then you would need to either Use EduBond or set up block account.... With prayers visa is also gauranteed, provided you select a course that could be used after studies you are more confident of a better life during and after studies.

5. They say there are jobs there at least to survive more than the UK

Next on my list is Republic of Ireland.

Note there are two Ireland one in the UK and one as a sovereign state of its own.... Am talking about the one on its own not under the UK.... Dublin IRELAND

They have two sessions one in January and in September

Currently admission is on, most schools charge about £50 as application fee, while some other schools don't charge for application fee, some schools also don't accept direct application from students hence they direct applicants to their designated school agents who in turn make the application for you and assist you to secure your admission and visa application procedures.

Note the school pays the agents hence you don't pay the agent any money to secure the admission or assist with visa application, I strongly think maybe there is a part of your fees that the agent is paid after you successfully pay for your fees.

Visa processing for Ireland requires a lot of work but from what frends in Ireland are saying it looks very very promising as they are all looking very soft also unlike my Germany frends.... Pls dat was just a joke don't take it too serious... Anywhere outside of Nigeria is soft trust me.

For Ireland ensure you target to do your master's in fields categorised as critical skill set and you won't regret it after.

Ireland is not free, you pay fees from £7000 upto £22000 depending on your course of study and you also have to provide proof of funds upto about £12000 as your account statement or sponsor statement, every lump sum has to be careful explained also... And some other documentation.... You can visit Irish thread for more info....

Gerrard59:
I feel I should try to elucidate some things with my little knowledge on migration:

- Individuals should understand that at the end of the day, your finances (aka money) is more important than the destination. You can have all the dreams (anyone can dream) but to actualise those dreams, you need the money. Mere sending documents via courier costs a lot and you might be required to send more than once. Another expense is English proficiency tests, I keep reading folks who ask about the possibility of getting admission without writing these tests (GRE, GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL etc) but you need to understand schools who would waive these tests (majority do now because of Covid-19) are low ranking, won't offer scholarships and will be expensive. The last thing I can advise a black African to do is to attend a low ranking institution abroad, don't compare yourself to blacks there who are citizens. Is it bank balance statement? Flight tickets? Living expenses? School fees? Quarantine period expenses? Tests' costs? So, everything boils to money. Start saving rigorously but do so in dollars (I got to know this hack from Kemi Onabanjo - associate partner @McKinsey&Co who went to INSEAD, France - who saved the bulk of her school fees in dollars before devaluation occured five years ago as a result of decline in crude oil prices) not naira, and save under your pillow. Emefiele aka Meffy has been very funny. .

- Study the countries' route to citizenship (the outright goal for many here, I believe). The longer it takes, the more discouraging. A country like Switzerland should not be on your radar but Austria should. Policies can change but you should be strategic and think long term. However, in some cases, you can aim to study in a Country A and use the degree to work in Country B whose route to citizenship is easier. Does not sound easy but hey, nothing good comes easy. For instance, we know schooling in Canada is expensive (the person I know who finished there has uncles working in ExxonMobil & Shell) and the requirements from the embassy is one of a kind. Mind you, 8 out of 10 students are denied student visas (https://qz.com/africa/1708714/canada-rejects-most-african-student-visa-applicants/). But if your aim is to work/live in Canada, you could do that by aiming to get a graduate program that is fully funded in the US, preferably a top university. Finish from there and apply for jobs in Canada. Why the US for graduate studies? The US is the number one country in funding grad students, a place where the higher education system is well developed and has disproportionately the highest number of top universities globally according to the top three higher education ranking agencies (ARWU, QS & THEducation). Canada does not fund grad students as much as the US esp in MSc courses. Like I said, target top universities. A degree from Cornell University would not be downgraded irrespective of the colour of your skin or nationality (quotas might exist). But remember, to get a funded position in most US universities, you need to write the GRE, GMAT &/or TOEFL, so get ready.

- Conduct your research on everything from schools, type of degrees, cities, currencies, languages etc. You are the one who wants to japa not the person reading it and even if, don't expect random strangers to do everything for you. If you ask how do I apply to grad programs in this country and you are given responses. Do not ask: how do I contact professors, that is your responsibility. Dem don give you mattress, you dey ask for pillow? Whether work visas, skilled migration route or employment opportunities, conduct your research. That is why Google.com exists.

- There are some relatively unknown/unpopular countries with easier migration routes, target those places. As a Nigerian, you should know by now that the US, Canada, UK, Ireland and Australia are very popular and highly competitive. But what about Mexico, Brazil or even South Korea? They can be stepping stones to your favourite which even if you do not attain citizenship in your favourite, you can do so in those countries as they have stronger passports than Nigeria.

- Know your limitations and be strategic. You are a bloody Nigerian, your educational background is not well regarded in the abroad. You did not work in top MNCs whose brand name you can leverage on or do not possess skills/qualifications that are demanded globally yet you expect work visas just like that?

- Passionately learn the language of the country if her lingua franca is not English. Don't expect employment opportunities in Germany to be offered on a platter of gold yet you are not interested in learning German even though job ads of almost a million are advertised daily or same in Brazil yet to learn Portuguese na wahala for you. Don't be surprised or angry that Seoul University requested you submit IELTS score even though the official language of Korea is not English. Newsflash!!! Nigeria is not regarded as a native English speaking country, only South Africa has that title in Africa. Even if you are offered the possibility of gaining admission without it, write it 'cos it can make the difference in scholarship opportunities.

- Stay away from Woke people! They might share the same skin colour but their experiences differ from yours. When listening/reading tales from people in the abroad who warn you from relocating, ask questions. Try to know their migration route and citizenship/economic status. Someone who left via tourist visa and another who went for MBA at Haas School of Business would have different experiences, learn the mistakes the former made and strategies the latter did. Anyone who discourages you from relocating when s/he has not relocated to Nigeria is hypocritically wicked and does not wish you well (and if you check those who relocated, they are already citizens of developed countries). Flee from such people.

Best wishes!

Not directed to me but I find such a question weird and discouraging to a female huzzler.....

What has someone actively trying to secure a better future for her family have to do with her thinking of getting married, is the greatest achievement of a lady to get married and get stocked in Nigeria?

Do you even know her personally to confirm if she is not married?

Or do married people not deserve a life outside of this shit-hole called Nigeria?

Instead of you to encourage her you are monitoring threads she is active on and asking questions that's sounds weird and annoying to the hearing, please if its marriage that brought you in here please you had better go to marriage thread and get married..... Of course, student route remains the easy route to immigrate to another country
