Because our education is nothing but rote memorization bereft of core knowledge evident in our epileptic services and poor system.

when you want to apply for a graduate trainee position as a fresh graduate and they post age limit 22-23 then you will thank parents for rushing their kids.

That is the mentality of typical Lagosians. The parents compete among themselves on whose son/ daughter graduate first from school. Some parents pay no attention to the intellectual ability or capabilities of their children in School. As a tutor in a primary school in Lagos, I have had numerous encounters with parents who always insisted that their children must be placed in a class contrary to the children's performance

When one of the prerequisite of getting your dream job is 7 years experience, then you'd appreciate the need to try and rush school on time....
However, at the end of the day, the rush may not pay off..

Mine was different. I repaeated classes severally because my right hand could not touch my left ear across my head.
It was painful though. I finally finished secondary school at age 18.

I did some teaching at a private boarding school when I was still hustling.
You need to see some of the ss3 student in a class

They look like primary school pupils.

Way too young

They do it for the competition.
"My son is 19 and he is in 400L" grin
"My daughter is 21 and she has an M. Sc." grin
These sort of things freak women more.

Then tell companies not to advertise vacancies with age cap at 25 in a country plagued by endless strikes in her universities. The Eneke's axiom about the bird and hunter is apt.

I know a girl who graduated from the secondary school at the age of 12 or thereabout. She is just average academically but the parents kept rushing her to save cost. You got to pay only for 4 sessions instead of six.
Again, because of age barrier in getting a job in Nigeria. (Ask Access Bank applicants).
Finally, it's a pride to a parent to see his or her child doing"better" than their mates. By graduating before them.

grin funny enough it has both positive n negative effects. the child will be suitable candidate for many positions in some companies . On the other hand the child might be inexperienced to overcome peer pressure at a young age.

Serious I don't understand why, this has affected alot of kids including me back then
In a country like this, even after the kid get out of school, he/she goes back home, I already promised myself that my kids won't go through that path
