That is the mentality of typical Lagosians. The parents compete among themselves on whose son/ daughter graduate first from school. Some parents pay no attention to the intellectual ability or capabilities of their children in School. As a tutor in a primary school in Lagos, I have had numerous encounters with parents who always insisted that their children must be placed in a class contrary to the children's performance 94 Likes 3 Shares |

.. When one of the prerequisite of getting your dream job is 7 years experience, then you'd appreciate the need to try and rush school on time.... However, at the end of the day, the rush may not pay off.. 16 Likes 1 Share |

I know a girl who graduated from the secondary school at the age of 12 or thereabout. She is just average academically but the parents kept rushing her to save cost. You got to pay only for 4 sessions instead of six. Again, because of age barrier in getting a job in Nigeria. (Ask Access Bank applicants). Finally, it's a pride to a parent to see his or her child doing"better" than their mates. By graduating before them. 17 Likes |

funny enough it has both positive n negative effects. the child will be suitable candidate for many positions in some companies . On the other hand the child might be inexperienced to overcome peer pressure at a young age. I will design a business website for 12k only. This covers; hosting, domain name & emails.
