That shit helps no one. The only person that got well delayed became the best in my family. He was mentally developed enough to face all challenges.

Rushing a child will surely affect his standard.

1.Competition

2. Copycatism

3. Impatience

4. The Nigerian educational system gives room for such maneuvering

5. Graciousness - they want to see their ward become successful early

The job market is very competitive these days. All those people who say that you should graduate at at least 25 are either living in a fantasy land or didn't pursue higher education.

Aside from medicine there is no such thing as guaranteed employment after school again.

Nigeria education be like Lagos traffic, the earlier you hit the road the more likely to avoid traffic jam. So also the education, the more you jump, the more you'll likely avoid ASUU strike. Tankio

My own opinion is that most parents rush there kids to school starting from daycare because of time factor. They mostly look for where to dump there kids to enable them face there hussle abd this is the trend going on mostly in Lagos..

Because academic excellence is now a competition in Nigeria.
Even if you graduated with an average result, you will see yourself better than those still in sch.
It's in everyone of us (consciously or unconsciously), if you think it's false, kindly flash back on how you related with those you finished ssce with when you gained admission while some of them are still at home, or those that were in sch while you were home.

In my opinion, job entry age should be removed. Most entry jobs specify not more than 23 as at the time of application. That means the child must have graduated and done his/her NYSC before age 21.So he/she could maxmise the remaining 2years in search of job opportunities, else by 24 or 25 he/she would be deemed outdated.

I finished university at age 19
I don't think I was rushed, it just happened naturally, I was the best in my classes and thus the need to promote me, and when I registered for primary school exam, I passed more than all my seniors, so parents just allowed me to go to JSS1
I will be clocking 24 soon and yet, no Job even after finishing both Undergraduate and post graduate at 22. Not just graduating but graduating as the best student in both, what if I was still in 300level? Or I'm just graduating with a second class lower at age 24? It means I would never find a job in Nigeria.
Well, I don't hope getting any Job anymore, I have passed that age, I have bigger dreams now, very big ones.
I just look at my classmates but can't help pitying them, especially those doing their PHD already, they have no hope, no single hope

Useless country called Nigeria

They don't go to school; but we make ridiculous policies (and backward laws) with the intent of stopping them from dominating the rest of the country.
Such irony!

Sometimes its for the pride of the parents.

They want to let everyone know how their 7 years of child is in Primary 5 going to JSS 1

I pity some of the children

And what makes medicine so guaranteed ? undecided ...no job is a guaranteed job as far as I'm concerned

Opinion cont'd...Age of educated parents could also make them rush their children through school.
