Guys I need serious advice

I have b.tech applied geophysics and PGD entrepreneurship development which I finished January my result isn't out yet due to what's happening in nigeria

I have been working as a digital marketer for 3 years now(2017) although it's my own e-commerce startup
Now the issue is I wasn't operating properly so I was just paying myself salary anyhow I wanted. No payslip

I recently got a job in another organisation for digital marketing executive although I'm performing managerial role. I'm starting their whole online presence

But you know naija low pay so they don't want to give manager tag so you don't ask for money.

I plan to apply for this PR program next year after I write my IELTS which I'm certain I'll get at least band 7 which puts me at 70points already (I'm single 26years)

I'm positioning myself as a marketing specialist
225113 MARKETING SPECIALIST

Now the issue is my degree not matching my work experience

What do I do?

My PGD is like a professional MBA does it qualify me ?

Also can anyone give a rough amount of money needed to compete this process

Please I need urgent response, I'm trying to plan my life ahead and quick

Hi Tunlex01, thank you for all you do.

Please the bolded caught my attention, I am/will be studying Msc Engineering Management in Aussie as soon as the boarder opens up and the bolded caught my attention.

Please hope I'll be able to assess for my PR as an Engineering manager without facing the 6yrs experience ish?

I am a fresh graduate and I barely have working experience here in Nigeria.
The bolded was specifically referring to IML's (formerly known as AIM) assessment process.
Studying Engineering management does not make you an Engineering manager especially with IML. Perhaps EA may accept a fresh graduate.
Have you read through the tasks of an Engineering manager?
This is a general description of the occupation
Plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the engineering and technical operations of organisations.

Yes, the tasks of an Engineering Manager is glued to my brain.

I'll make further findings but nevertheless I can use my B.Eng Che Engineering degree to access with EA though what I actually thought was I just need to have 1 year post Msc working experience doing the task(Project Coordinator/manager) of an Engineering-Manager to enable me access as an EM since I have the EM degree which is not readily available for undergraduate study.

Let me be honest with you and I stand to be challenge, no one will employ you as a project coordinator/manager in Australia without a local experience or at least experience from a 1st world country in engineering. As you rightly said, you can access with your Bsc while Engineering Management will give you extra 5points.

Well, local experience, 1st world country experience are factual but are also stereotypes that can limit anyone that does not know what s/he is doing.

Project coordinator and entry level project manager are graduate trainee roles with little or no experience and fantastic command of soft skills.

The professional year program is also there to make the transition easier from graduating from uni to getting a job.

Also, the good thing about me is I know what to leverage on to make me standout.

God willing, everything will work out well.

Anu ni morigba!!

Cheers!

Please I need help guys. My own case is a very different one.
I was a system administrator in 2 companies for over 4 years before I lost my job in 2016, now I run my personal fashion design business and sales of taileoing accessories but still listed as a director in my husband's company.
I have BSC Computer Science
Age :37

My husband on the other hand is also an IT professional with over 8 years work experience. He, however left his salary job and started his personal IT company about 4 years ago.
He is officially 42 years old.
We have 2 kids

Now my questions are:
1) Who stands a better chance of getting a PR?
2) is my work experience as system administrator still valid?

Thank you so much

Hello I recently got the Aussy, 189 PR visa. I stay and work in Lagos earning 550k a month. Is this a good time to leave all and move to Aussy. I am a software developer in Lagos.

Also, I have a wife and infant son.

Thanks for your advice..

Don't move yet. Melbourne just lifted quite a number of restrictions. You can start to plan your move by January 2021.

Meanwhile, you can start to apply for jobs that catch your fancy from now. You could get one. Check Seek and Indeed Australia websites.

1. Who stands a better chance is dependent on who can gather the maximum points and whose occupation is nominated by the States. We don't know your husband's area of specialisation in IT.

2. Yes, your system admin role is still valid. Experience within 10 years is valid.

The one year experience will not qualify you as an Engineering manager. While the role is technical, it also has the administrative part to it. You will need more than the one year to get a positive assessment.

To let you know, the one year professional year is indirectly considered as an apprentice like year. It is not looked in the same way as skilled experience.

Read the first page, go to the occupation list and identify occupations that closely match his skills and yours. Once you do this, use the point calculator to calculate possible points the two of you can get, then you will be able to decide the principal applicant.

You might likely have more points because with his age, the age points is significantly less.

To put it in context, i cancelled out that part cause I really don't know what you are up to.

There's less than 2k people with the job title Engineering Managers in Australia. The data is available. Check Australia bureau of statistics, i won't do the easy job for you bringing that proof to your doorstep since it seems your motive is to demotivate me.

Engineering Management degree has diverse career path way and I am starting out my own as a Project Coordinator and grow through the ranks.

Why will i demotivate you when i passed exactly the same route with just different Bsc? I can tag 4 ppl from RMIT and 3 from Deakin that study this same course to shed more light for you and you don't even have the luxury of time if your main target is using Engineering Manager to get PR. My thinking may be skewed to you but you will definitely know better upon your arrival.

Hi All,

Please I need assistance on how to go about the TRA migration process. I have a B.Tech in Mechanical Engr. with 3 yrs work experience in logistics and supply chain, presently I am 36 and running my own business now. I would have love to get accessed by EA but my first-degree qualification doesn't align with my little year's of work experience. So, I thought of going in through TRA.

Likewise, I'm yet to do my English test but from the points calculation, the max I could get will be around 70 points.

PS: I'm married with 2 kids.

Is TRA possible for me?

For english competency, which would you advice I do, Ielts or PTE?
Also, do we both have to write the exam?
Lastly, what are the documents I need to submit to the accessing body?

I have issues with canada because of the band 8 in IELTS required for me to even reach 471 points and its most likely going to go up with the way people want to write the exam now.

PGD is not a PhD its barely a full masters. its just the same point with a professional masters like MBA not even a academic degree

But i also have google digital skills certificate , hubspot email marketing certificate
i even have SAP Materials Management certification that i havent used....no mind me i just gather certificate anyhow

My reference to Melbourne is not an intent you are moving to the city but to let you know that there was a second wave which created restrictions. The restrictions in Victoria had some impact on the general economy. The economy is slowly picking up and it will take little bit of time for things to return to normal.

Sydney is ok, it is the most populous city. You should get something in Sydney only that Melbourne is considered the IT hub of Australia.

People can travel within 25km radius of their home. You can now receive some number of visitors in your house and can start to work from office provided the company can stick to the social distance protocol and other COVID protocols.

I can't give an authoritative advice on the English test. Some find PTE easier than IELTS while others think IELTS is the best thing after Agege bread cheesy. It is up to you to decide which suits you. I only wrote IELTS, so I have no idea about the structure of PTE.

Yes, I will advice you both do assessments and write the exam to boost each other's points (partner's points).

Go to ACS website (Australian Computer Society), you will find information on documents required and steps to submitting your skills assessment.

NB: you should consider another occupation closely related to system administrator. This is because prior to COVID trouble, only ACT was nominating it and may likely remove when full nomination process starts. Look for closely related occupation that is nominated by at least three states to give you options.

His choice of words may have been wrong but I don't think he meant to demotivate you.

Yes, quite a number of people struggle to get into that entry level role due to the local experience requirement (silly right?). However, it doesn't mean you will not get it.

Having the information he provided should be to motivate you more to add spices to your CV so it stands you out and give you an edge. You can get the role.

Meanwhile, don't harbour the idea of getting positive assessment as an Engineering Manager after one year in a project coordinator position.
