FunkyAlhaji2015: Based on what u have said, it means that u are smarter than d team that decided to carry along a pathologist to a hospital which u say doesn't have a mortuary. Y would d team carry a pathologist if there was no mortuary? Didn't they no that there was no mortuary in d facility? |

Re: Lagos Judicial Panel In Surprise Visit To Army Hospital, Finds No Mortuary by SmartyPants(m): 9:24am On Oct 31, 2020 |
lexy2014: It could mean they are totally degraded and in need of an upgrade and have not yet received it. Hence...the need for the renovation. 1 Like 1 Share |

lexy2014: Yes to the first question. The status of a functional unit like a morgue is determined by use and not by the existence of the building on its own. The building can be there but if it is not being used then the morgue does not exist. By the way, why does the hospital as a whole have to be totally degraded for some parts of it to be so? In this case when they say there is no morgue they are not necessarily saying there is no building that used to be the morgue or that there is no space allocated for it. They are simply saying there is currently no place that is designated and functioning as the morgue. 2 Likes 1 Share |

lexy2014: Will there have been need for an inquiry if we were to believe every party's word of mouth?? The inquiry needs to visit every location to gather information for itself. There is no morgue at the hospital but people have been petitioning the inquiry that they is a morgue and the bodies of the deceased are hidden there, hence need for the visit with pathologists in board. To ascertain the truth. Lexy2014 |

SmartyPants: If there's a building that is designated as a classroom, it's still a classroom whether functional or otherwise, until it is put to other use. If a building was designated to serve as a morgue, it is still a morgue. It's non functionality doesn't deprive it of it's designated status. It's like saying a car isn't a car because it's non functional. According to u: "By the way, why does the hospital as a whole have to be totally degraded for some parts of it to be so?" U tell me. It's u who said d hospital was under renovation. So now ur story is changing from d non existence of a morgue to a building exist that used to function as a morgue but no longer does. |

lexy2014: Young man I don't think I have time to do this with you all day. 1. If there is a building that is designated a classroom and then is no longer designated a classroom, perhaps because it is no longer fit for purpose, then it is simply not a classroom. This requires no debate. As to your car analogy, the proper analogy is car is to building as taxi is to morgue. So while a car is always a car, if you stop using it as a taxi it is a car but not a taxi. Similarly, a building can be used as a morgue until you stop using it as such. There is little room for argument here so I don't know what your problem is. 2. Secondly, once again, you refuse to be straightforward. I started by pointing out to you two alternative explanations for why IDH does not have a morgue. You chose to run down the rabbit hole with the second one and now you are turning around to claim that I am changing positioning when right from the get go i posited that there were multiple possible explanations. If you have a short attention span don't think I do. For the third and final time, I don't know why IDH does not have a morgue. As to why it is possible that they do not have one, a. This is Nigeria where too many things are not as should be b. It is stated that the place is under renovation which could mean there is a non functional morgue space to be renovated. We do not need to agree so I am not pursuing this with you any further. |

yusufu16: Were there soldiers at Lekki? yes Did they shoot? Yes Did they shoot at protesters? I don’t know Did they shoot live rounds? Evidence suggests three types of shell casings at the scene. Blank rounds, rounds from FN rifle and pistol rounds Who fired what; I don’t know Did anyone die at the Lekki tollgate? People sustained gunshot injuries but I don’t know Who ordered the soldiers there? I don’t know There are a lot of unknowns and the panel need to uncover the truth; that is the aim and not to follow bait |
Re: Lagos Judicial Panel In Surprise Visit To Army Hospital, Finds No Mortuary by lexy2014: 10:57am On Oct 31, 2020 |
SmartyPants: 1. Pls read again: "If there's a building that is designated as a classroom, it's still a classroom whether functional or otherwise, until it is put to other use." That is different from: "If there is a building that is designated a classroom and then is no longer designated a classroom, perhaps because it is no longer fit for purpose, then it is simply not a classroom." Interpretation: except d designation of a thing changes, it is still what it was originally designated as irrespective of it's level of functionality or idleness. 2. Once again, u are a victim of your own words. Am not d one who told u to back up ur so called first alternative with a second contradictory alternative. So spare me all these ur personal attacks. Next time, choose ur words properly before u air them. U can't be blaming for your personal shortcomings |

SoBright101: The unrepentant tribalists of Nigeria are from the north of Nigeria which used its loyal military dictators to create 20 new political units in one region - north - but created an average of 8.5 new political units in each of the two southern regions that formed independent Nigeria with the northern region in 1960. No country formed by different regions ever used land mass or population statistics as yardstick to proliferate too many new political units in an area with larger land mass or higher population. Because doing that is like tilting the balance of power to the area where higher number of political units were created. That’s what sparked off dissent which they foolishly called tribalism from the eastern region.

This is what happened that night since you want to know: the Lagos State government seeing that the so called 'endsars' protest was turning to something else if it's not controlled, declared a curfew in the state mandating all Lagosians to stay indoors. But some idiots still decided to take laws into their hand and come out to continue the protest without considering the fact that they were violating the law. Only God knows what happened to them but they have themselves to blame anyway as they ought not to have violated the curfew! Shinfuluan: 1 Like |

Justdare: I agree with you. Seems like a lot of people on Nairaland don't really understand what a mortuary is... perhaps they think its like a solitary refrigerator or freezer that 2 or 3 soldiers can just carry & throw over the fence into the next compound or stow it away inside the booth of a car within 30 minutes, just to cover up some evidence. blackmantis: We have asked that question since last week...all we have seen is someone posting pictures of some guys on a Twitter handle, doing some paparazzi postures for the cameras, saying this person is missing...but no family of the persons have cried out. Perhaps the victims live under the bridge, and not with family members. We don't understand... 3 Likes 1 Share |
