Let's just forget about this matter ehnn...

The banking system in this nation is not encouraging.......

However, if the money has been sent back, then if you check western union tracker, it will tell u it has been canceled and direct you to contact the sender to resend again... But if it still shows received on the tracker, then it means it has been received in Nigeria..... So whatever happened in btw, only God understands...... Actually the bank is making this hard...

But yet, Glaciered, you were partly wrong With those curses.... It is top heavy and not needed... You have been happy helping, even if it goes sour, you don't need to curse her or anybody bcox of any misunderstanding.... Those curses are unacceptable..... Totally unacceptable..

Kemmy210, please let the matter be over.. Sorry for the stress you may have gone through and sorry for any dissapointment that came with it....

Kemmy210 and Ontheroad, pls let this die down... Let it go......

MMotimo:
This is highly irritating.

Nothing justifies the language in the sender’s email towards the OP. Calling her names is not acceptable. It’s extraordinarily rude and frankly, uncouth.

The whole story is indeed strange. I would assume that Western Union can confirm the name of the receiver and point of receipt. If it’s the OP’s name and it was that branch, then it’s either she received it or she was impersonated with the thief using the secret code. Hard to believe she received and yet denied only to visit the branch repeatedly, chase after bank officials and bother with tweeting. I’m no detective but that charade simply makes no sense. Why would she not just say she received it? Why create a movie out of the situation?

You’d expect the sender not to deactivate until this issue resolved but for reasons best known to her, she deactivated. OP, you have done more than enough. Let God judge the matter. People will believe what they want to believe. I can tell you though that if you live abroad, you are more likely to get to the bottom of issues like this via email(s) and/or phone call(s) compared to folks living in Naija that are at the mercy of bank officials.

If this was my money sent to someone in Naija, I would expect WU to confirm name of receiver, location and date at a minimum and I would provide that information to the thread. Maybe I missed it but I don’t think I saw where the sender provided those details. If she did and it’s the OP’s details then the impersonation argument becomes more compelling.

SENDER HERE

I DON'T CARE ABOUT BEING NICE ANYMORE. FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO CHECK cool

WU ALREADY GOT TO THE BOTTOM OF IT: THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE SENDER IN NIGERIA. THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO AS FAR AS INVESTIGATING GOES. ONLY THE BANK WHERE IT WAS RECEIVED CAN TAKE UP ANY FURTHER INVESTIGATING. WU CANNOT REVERSE THE MONEY BACK NOR WAS ANY MONEY SENT BACK TO ME (AGAIN, I DON'T WANT THE MONEY BACK AND THIS ISN'T ABOUT THAT!!). WHEN I TOLD THEM WHAT OP TOLD ME, THAT THE BANK STAFF SHE WENT TO TOOK THE MONEY, THE TWO PEOPLE THERE EXCLAIMED WITH THEIR JAWS OPEN AND SAID "THAT'S NOT RIGHT" AT THE SAME TIME. THEY TOLD ME THE BANK NEED TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER BECAUSE NOTHING CAN BE DONE ON THEIR END HERE UNFORTUNATELY. THEY'VE TOLD ME NO ONE CAN GET THE MONEY WITHOUT THE MTCN CODE AND ID. I TOLD THEM THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID, THAT THE BANK STAFF TOOK IT BECAUSE SHE SHOWED HIM THE MTCN CODE/NUMBER, BUT THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT, IT IS NOW OFF THEIR TERRITORY, THAT THE BANK IN NIGERIA WHERE THE MONEY WAS COLLECTED SHOULD BE THE ONE TO FIND OUT WHO COLLECTED IT. AS FAR AS THEY'RE CONCERNED THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE RECIPIENT. THEY MADE A PHONE CALL TO THEIR HEAD OFF IN MY PRESENCE AND WHOEVER THEY SPOKE TO SAID THE SAME THING. THE RECEIPT I GOT FROM THE WU, THAT I SENT OP HAS THE LOCATION WHERE THE MONEY WAS SENT FROM, DATE, TIME...

Hello ontheroad I know you are angry that some comments misconception is that the money (which has been received in Nigeria) has been sent back to you. You should know some people have no idea how WU works.

You should also know the system over there works differently and far better than what is obtainable here in Nigeria.

I know what it's like to feel being played and also losing money to the wrong people regardless how small the figure is.

If you live in Nigeria or ever lived in Nigeria, you would know there is a 99% chance the OP wasn't the one that received the money. Our banking system is fvcked up on so many levels. Please, find a place in your heart to forgive, understand others and try to get to the root of this issue.

YUP, THE MONEY WAS AVAILABLE FOR HER THROUGHOUT THAT WEEKEND. I NEVER CANCELLED IT. HAD I CANCELLED IT, THE TRACKER WOULD'VE BEEN UPDATED TO CANCELLED. BEFORE THAT MONDAY WHEN SHE WENT TO THE BANK, HAD I CANCELLED THE MONEY, IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE FOR WHOEVER COLLECTED IT AT THE POINT OF RECEIPT (THE BANK) TO COLLECT IT!!!. BUT I NEVER CANCELLED IT. IT NEVER EVEN CROSSED MY MIND TO CANCEL IT NOR WAS I GOING TO. WHEN SHE EMAILED ME TO CHANGE STORY THAT IT WASN'T HER WHO COLLECTED IT OO, SHE SAID THE BANK STAFF DID SINCE SHE SHOWED HIM THE MTCN AND HE KEPT LOOKING AT IT. SHE ALSO STATED ON THE THREAD THE NEXT TIME SHE WENT TO THE BANK TO COMPLAIN HE LEFT HIS SEAT AS SOON AS WE SAW HER. YOU SAW THE UPDATE I HAD POSTED ON MY PREVIOUS ACCOUNT FROM THE TRACKER THAT THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE RECIPIENT IN NIGERIA. MONEY THAT HAS BEEN RECEIVED CANNOT BE SENT BACK TO THE SENDER. I CAN POST ANOTHER TRACKER UPDATE TO SHOW IT'S STILL SAYING "RECEIVED", OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE IT HAS!!! SHE HAS THE MTCN CODE TO CHECK THE TRACKER, SHE CAN POST IT HERSELF!!!

THE MONEY WAS NOT SENT BACK NOR REVERSED BACK TO ME. NOPE! FOR ANYBODY TO TALK SHIT THAT IT WAS, IS BULL. SHE HAS EVEN INSINUATED THAT I DIDN'T SEND HER ANY MONEY. GOSH.

RECENT ANALOGY:
EARLY LAST WEEK I BOUGHT SOMETHING FROM THE UK (ON EBAY). THE SELLER SENT ME A TRACKING NUMBER FOR ME TO TRACK THE PACKAGE. FROM THE DAY (AND TIME) SHE TOOK MY ITEM TO THE POSTAL OFFICE, TO THE TIME ROYAL MAIL PICKED IT UP, TO THE TIME IT LEFT HEATHROW AIPRORT, THE ONLINE TRACKER SHOWED EVERYTHING. TODAY, I RECEIVED MY PACKAGE (NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED) AND THE TRACKER SAYS "DELIVERED". THESE TRACKING SYSTEMS DON'T LIE!!! HAD I CANCELED MY ORDER, BOTH THE TRACKER AND MY EBAY ACCOUNT WOULD'VE BEEN UPDATED TO "CANCELLED" AND I WOULD'VE GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK. IT WOULD'VE EVEN BEEN IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO CANCEL AFTER IT HAD BEEN SENT TO THE POST OFFICE ANYWAYS SINCE SHE TOOK IT THERE RIGHT AWAY. IF ANYTHING HAD HAPPENED TO THE PACKAGE SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY, IT WOULDN'T BE THE SELLER'S PROBLEM AT THAT POINT. I CANNOT NOW CLAIM I DIDN'T GET THE PACKAGE OR THAT THE SELLER DIDN'T SEND ME ANYTHING. IT WAS DELIVERED TO ME AND I GOT IT.

stop typing in all caps.

it's obvious you sent money. ok, so what's the way forward because I get really angry seeing or feel people being cheated either emotionally or financially. I feel the op is being cheated emotionally. She didn't do anything way out of order by showing the mtcnn code to the bank official atleast it's one of the process

let's get to the root of this. I understand your privacy matters but abeg boss lady, madam galciered, abeg.. please dalu.. biko.. eejor ... make your name available

AND PEOPLE SUDDENLY SAYING I DIDN'T SEND THE MONEY OR THAT THE MONEY WAS RETURNED BACK TO ME IS NOT ME BEING CHEATED EMOTIONALLY? HER CLAIMING I SENT THE MONEY FOR SOMEONE ELSE (SOMETING THAT'S BLATANLTY FALSE BECAUSE I DID NOT!! ) ISN'T ME BEING CHEATED EMOTIONALL? HER NEW CLAIM THAT "Only if she truly send anything sef" ISN'T ME BEING CHEATED? MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK UP A WORD BEFORE USING IT. AND NO, I'M NOT GIVING HER ANY NAME AT THIS POINT. I ALREADY EXPLAINED WHAT WU HAS SAID. NOT REPEATING SHIT AGAIN. AND SHE CAN POST THE TRACKER FOR YOU TO SEE THAT THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE RECIPIENT. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN LOOK INTO THE MATTER NOW IS THE BANK WHERE THE MONEY WAS RECEIVED.

YOU CAN ALWAYS STOP READING IF YOU DON'T LIKE ALL CAPS. I'M NOT HERE TO PLEASE YOU.

IT'S OBVIOUS THE BANK DOESN'T WANT TO INVESTIGATE. I EVEN GAVE HER MY PHONE NUMBER (NOT MY MAIN LINE ANYWAY) TO GIVE TO THE BANK MANAGER TO GIVE ME A CALL IF SHE HAS ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME. NOBODY CALLED ME. NOBODY HAS CALLED ME. I'M NOT THE ONE WHO SHOULD CALL HER.

IT'S NOT NICE FOR ME TO SEND MONEY TO SOMEONE (DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S $1) AND THE PERSON HAS JUST BEEN TELLING ONE STORY TO ANOTHER AND NOW SAYING MAYBE I DIDN'T SEND HER ANYTHING WHEN THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY WHOEVER DID IN NIGERIA, AT THE BANK. BY TOMORROW, WHO KNOWS IF HER NEW CLAIM WILL BE THAT I'VE NEVER COMMUNICATED WITH HER? GOSH.

I'VE GIVEN HER THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT THAT MAYBE THE BANK STAFF TOOK IT. THE BANK THAT SHOULD INVESTIGATE ISN'T DOING THAT. THE ISSUE IS OFF MY HANDS. WU CANNOT DO ANYTHING EITHER. ONLY THE BANK CAN LOOK INTO WHERE THAT MONEY WENT TO. WHY THEY'VE CHOSEN NOT TO INVESTIGATE IS THEIR BUSINESS AT THIS POINT.

I LEFT NIGERIA AS A KID. I DIDN'T KNOW BANK STAFFS CAN STEAL MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS. HOW PATHETIC. IT'S UNFORTUNATE SOMETHING LIKE THIS CAN HAPPEN AND THEY WON'T LOOK INTO IT.

THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE RECIPIENT, AT THE BANK. WHOEVER RECEIVED IT THERE, I HAVE NO IDEA.

I always tell people not to beg for money no matter the situation. Please no one should attack me here that what if you are in tight corner. We should learn to live within our budget.

Imagine Op came to beg for money online that's a shame of the highest order. She unfortunately met a toxic sender that's another wahala. I I will advise you to go and look for something to do instead of begging for peanut online.

@ sender like you said that God has blessed you. Thank God for blessing you but you have really proved Him wrong for Blessing you with this attitude of yours. Just that email alone I felt bad for the one who came to beg for money online. Hiw could you talk to someone like that becasue you sent her just 21k

If you wanted to help someone why not do it fully? You send WU and you didnt include your name when you filled your name as the sender there? Why hiding the name? What would OP or people do with your name when it is not your social security number

You have helped her. If she is lying or not shouldn't be an issue again to you. You could have ignored this thread if you didnt want to say anything about it again but coming up to defend yourself to the extent of talking down a human being is a NO NO. Some Nigerians are bad that's fine. I have also be duped by Nigerians living in America too when I sent money to them so it is vice versa

It is obvious you are a bitter person and whatever you have been blessed with is okay with God becasue if He does more than this for you you will slap someone old enough to be your grand.mother because of money

How.much is #21k that you wrote a lengthy message to insult her like that The best thing was to have walked away

If I were the poster honestly I would look for that money and send back to you in any way. I will use it to get something, trash it and send you the pix.

Let's learn to have dignity I mean men and women. Country is hard but it is not the end. We can still survive in this Nigeria if we know what we are doing instead of bringing insults upon ourselves

@ skentelelady there is absolutely nothing wrong seeking for help wherever you feel there could be a way.

Before we were born, people had always asked for help. when we are long gone people will still ask for help. All fingers aren't equal and the situations are always different.
Re: How to solve this fraudulent act by Union Bank staff by skentelelady(f): 7:36am On Nov 04, 2020
The part of the people bringing this insult is the people from the bank. I had issues this year when 30k from debited from my bank for a transaction I didnt initiate. I came here and read some comments. Went online to threaten the bank with social.media and letter to their MD. though it took 2.months I got my refund.

OP write an online message on their facebook, Twitter and their customer complaint email that though this money is small but you are taking it up. Tell them you are copying Cbn on this. Enter the bank and tell the manager face to face this is not ending here and be bold about it

Save yourself some dignity and refund that money .

Typing in Cap is bad you know that. It is obvious you sent the money . For the simple fact that the bank confirmed it had been received so if people were saying you didnt send the money then that shows their level of understanding and knowledge. She appreciated the money you send regardless the amount. She was even calm despite the way you started talking to her here with your old account.

My point is you shouldn't have talked down on her that way. Haba you insulted her as if she was your slave No Noooo Nooo. Even if she scammed you and you got to know about it. The matured thing was just to walk away and keep being yourself. Life isnt fair that's the way to look at it.

Please think about it. It will save you a lot if you can apologise for insulting her that way. It shows humility. Dont have bad vibe against people because some had done same thing to you in the past. Please learn to walk away and choose your words carefully when angry

I know you are angry but next time just calm down and choose your words carefully so you dont look like the bad person.

God knows you have played your own part so leave the rest to Him to take charge

Unfortunately OP may not be a kinda person to handle such a case. The money wasnt sent back to you. It is obvious she was duped by showing her mtcn to the cashier that attended to her.

Please calm down and find it in your heart to let go. I know she is sorry for the way everything turned out and how you have been badly accused. It shows in her words. Like I said its unfortunate she doesnt know how to handle such matter.

2face said one thing in one of his songs,

Say... say... see... we never had a chance, a chance to make it right
Cos right from the beginning some people don dey fight
They fighting for insane things, this is not right
And brightness only come from when you see the light

Life is so simple but they make it complicated
To be civilized, you don't have to be educated
Lets make it happen, so we time will not be wasted

I am happy you are working towards getting your PHD. life is very simple, let's not complicate issues when the problems can be solved easily.

if it's solved, you are not just helping the OP but you are helping Nigeria as a whole. We have to fight fraud at all level

I can see you can never change.

I was trying to upload her new mail, but I don't know why it didn't upload. I will try later. It's about what she said in one of her plenty epistle up there, that why won't I have spiritual problem, that I should go and post it again on nairaland.

For your information, what I told you about me when you're still mentally okay. The mail is still with you,so you can upload it here. When she continue doubting me about the money, that was when I told her that it's challenges that caused me to come online to beg.In my first post,I explained about myself(those that read the first thread can testify, before I edited it) which I buttress my point to her that to the glory of God,I started a provision store in February 2018 with 500k,but unfortunately since someone pour salt in front of my shop, everything went down within the space of two years which made me to close down my shop this year March.I explained this to her then to prove my innocence that I won't scam because of 21k,the phone in my hand is more than the amount. She should have ignored my post then, let me sell the phone as I was asking for buyer if I couldn't get help.Immediately she said she sent money,I edited my post and appreciated her.
There is no condition that is permanent. I am a giver, when I was teaching,I have paid part of my student's waec money,so enough of this your nonsense.
I would have send your money back to avoid this headache but someone insisted that I must not send it since I didn't receive it.
I'm waiting for your book of lamentation again.
Thanks to all kind hearted human beings that gives cheerfully.
No more respect for you, I don't appreciate you anymore.

I can[s] see you can never change.

I was trying to upload her new mail, but I don't know why it doesn't upload.

There is no condition that is permanent,I am a giver, when I was teaching,I have paid part of my student's waec money,so enough of this your nonsense.
I would have send your money back to avoid this headache but someone insisted that I must not send it since I didn't receive it.
I'm waiting for your book of lamentation again.
Thanks to all kind hearted human beings that gives cheerfully.
No more respect for you, I don't appreciate you anymore.[/s]
YOU TOLD ME YOU'VE BEEN BATTLING SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS OVER EMAIL, ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS YOU TOLD ME. BUT THIS THREAD ISN'T ABOUT THAT AND I FIND NO JOY IN THAT. I DIDN'T ASK YOU FOR STORY BEFORE YOU TOLD ME. YOU CAN SEE I'VE NEVER CHANGED HOW? I DON'T KNOW YOU FROM ADAM. UPLOAD THE TRACKER FOR EVERYONE TO SEE THAT THE MONEY HAS BEEN RECEIVED, SIMPLE. I DON'T CARE WHO TOOK THE MONEY AT THE BANK AT THIS POINT. WHETHER YOU DID, WHETHER THE BANK STAFF DID, NA YOU KNOW. YOU KNOW I SENT IT AND HAS BEEN COLLECTED AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS REVERSED BACK (AGAIN, NOT THAT I WANT IT BACK. I NEVER DID AND THIS ISN'T ABOUT THAT). I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU KEEP SHOUTING RESPECT. NO ONE GIVES A FCZK. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR RESPECT. WHAT THE HECK? RESPECT KO.

Just keep calm please. 2 wrongs will not make a right. Just take as one of those trying periods in life. Dont be angry with her by being insultive please. You have kept your cool since inception. Dont be pushed now so that you dont look like an ingrate. Tho we all have our limits but dont bring it up again. Like you said no condition is permanent.

If it is possible just edit this post or delete it. Dont mind what some ass kickers are saying here. Some people can stop so low to get attention

Honestly what will it take for someone to say thank you if they actually recieved any money?

So madam take it easy with the way you demean and insult the lady.

The money might be nothing to you but the way you talked to that lady was totally uncalled for.
