Hello Luckybelt,

$300 for U or M application fees, are you sure you're on the right site? The last time I check, it was around $100.

Hello JustMellow .

Thanks for this , do you mean she shouldn't have uploaded her transcript since she had poor grade ?

Hello Oreoluwamipo,

Unlike Ireland where the academic transcript is compulsory, it is different for Canada study application. Its not a compulsory document neither is it wrong to include one.

In the moniker's case, it shouldn't have been included rather the degree certificate would have be sufficient. The transcript is compulsory when an applicant is trying to demonstrate course correlation or academic connection. Many applicants has gotten their permit without one.

Still, it isn't wrong to include one.

Pls I want someone to help me. My student visa was refused and my Gcms note came in, I found out that the VO took me for someone else because he said I submitted my uncle's business account meanwhile it was my husband's account who was the sponsor. They even referred to me as "he" .my school fees was $11500k per year and they quoted that it was 14k. They didn't acknowledge the fact that I have already paid have of my fees plus $750 deposit. Please how best can I approach this issue. Involving a lawyer is too expensive. Thank you.

Hello Uchechile,

The judicial review would have worked to your favour but your reason for not tolling that path is understandable.

If the refusal isn't up to a month, write a very strong worded "Letter of Reconsideration" to the Nairobi VO, with evident argument about your situation. I have witnessed some cases get reopened especially if the VO is at fault. This could be sent via post and/or Webform and while you wait for a feedback, you may also want to begin to gather your documents for reapplication just in case of long delayed response which I doubt. The advantage of this is that you won't be asked to pay for a new application fee.

If after weighing your options and coming to a conclusion for a reapplication, your LOE should be strong worded with clear insights that points to the human errors made in your application by the VO. If you think you submit the right documents, don't change anything and reapply immediately. Hint on the setback that the induce error has cost you in both your time and plans.

Hello all,

Please I'll appreciate if someone can help me with an answer. I just got my PPR and in the letter, ircc said they cannot issue visa for a date beyond the expiry of my passport. My passport will expire in April 2022 and this date will fall short of the one year I'll ordinarily be entitled to for my visa.

Please will the date on my passport will affect anything since it will expire before my program ends? On the contrary, is it a good idea to apply for a new one (considering the fact that I have to submit my passport to bad within 30 days)?
Also, if I don't apply for a new one, will it affect my status since the visa on my passport may not be up to a year?

Thank you.

Hello Ujeinijobog,

No worries. You can always renew your Passport in Canada so is your study permit. Go ahead to submit your passport for stamping. You can only renew your passport prior to 6 months to its expiration.

I started my application with an agent. I gave him half payment, and he got me an admission. I am currently facing some issues with him, so I do not want him to continue with the processing. I intend to continue the processing myself now with the help of the gurus here. The agent sent me only the attached LOA to my email. I want to confirm if that’s the only thing I need from the school(or my agent) to be able to apply for the study permit myself. I am aware one of the necessary documents needed to apply for study permit is an official LOA with the school’s letterhead and everything. Is the attached LOA what they mean by official LOA?? Basically, my question is with the attached LOA, would it be possible to ditch my agent and continue the processing myself? I do not have the email and password he used to apply for the admission. Would that be a problem now or in the future?

Hello Ysakaws1,

There is no harm. In case of future reference with your prospect school, you can always use another email to reach them by supplying them your student ID, name and program. Its advised to contact your school immediately to inform them about a change in your contact detail.

You can go ahead with your visa application.

I had no doubt in my mind that your application would be successful given the solid arguments and supporting documents submitted. Thanks for trusting and believing my capacity. It's a great pleasure assisting with your application. I wish you all the best in Canada.

Good day frankrobbn1
I need your assistance. I applied to study in Canada years back but was refused twice.
First time I was even done with medical but they suddenly requested for 10k cad deposit and I couldn’t raise the money so that one got denied.
I applied later but was still turned down because this time I sincerely didn’t present all the documents.
It’s been three years now and I plan on applying again but this time I was thinking of securing admission with University of Lethbridge because I will be the one to sponsor myself.
I plan on paying the first semester tuition which is low and I also plan on going for the after degree nursing program.
I need your guidance.
I think it might be best if you forward your email or something so we can talk better.
Thank you

Hello, Justmellow, Just wise, Frankrobbn1 and other great Gurus(pardon for not mentioning everyone) and visa hopefuls on this platform.

Great work our gurus and contributors are doing here. Your service to humanity will be rewarded abundantly by God. Your innermost heart desires shall be granted by God's grace.

Kindly advice.
As an international student expecting visa approval anytime from now to commence studies in fall 2020, can I take part in an internship that will commence in January to end before I begin classes? i.e if visa is approved can I do internship in Canada between January and June/July before I start my graduate studies in September 2021?
Thank you as I anticipate your kind responses.

Hello Kristalfoods,

For as long as its not a paid internship or attracts a financial incentive and you should have evidence that the internship is part of your academic study...

But without robust reasons and substantial evidence for wanting to enter Canada in January prior to classes resumption in September, you may find it difficult gain entrance at the POE.

Play safe!

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chukwubuikexo: 4:51pm On Nov 04, 2020
PGC - Post graduate certificate
PGD - Post graduate diploma
PGC is the same as PGD, they are postgraduate certifications and they are most suitable for a second class lower graduate
Diploma is a post SECONDARY certification and not a clear academic progression for a university graduate.
For the most ideal, you can go for anyone, a college or a university, that suits you

Good afternoon. I’m a newbie trying to study in Canada. I have a bsc in mass communication and graduated with a 2:1. Pls I want to know which is a cheaper route; masters program or post graduate college? I’m 31yrs with 6yrs work experience in HR. I plan to further my career in HR or any other related course.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chukwubuikexo: 5:05pm On Nov 04, 2020
One of the ways of showing the VO that your plan for studies is genuine is by iterating your long term goals. You have to state that after you must have completed your studies, this is what you intend to achieve in your home country and gaining the knowledge your intended program would provide is key to achieving this.

Also a letter of introduction (or study leave permit, if possible) from your work place, and an Affidavit of Return would go a long way
