I have heard many lies but the one that was least expected and dreadful was when a guy told told me his relative in the village got bitten by a snake in the bush and the guy caught the snake and retaliated by also biting it and both of them died. That wasn't a problem cos I wasn't rich either. The problem was she lied her parents were people she always come to help.

• Called her Shelly for a year as she told me was her name only to find out she had no English name. I felt betrayed. Couldn't start calling her Anurika.

• Back in school, after using the toilet and not flushing, I lied I never used it not even use it. I stood on my right that I have never used the toilet. What sold me out was my shoe print. I cried literally behind doors that day. Everyone was just going to see the yams I deposited and bi like “na dis fine boy shit this thing?”
