Tospecial:You have the right to protest while I have right of free movement. How do you want to balance the two? You want to do peaceful protest while some people or hoodlums want an opportunity to loot people's shops. How do you want to balance the two? You don't expect Police to be watching while you burn Lagos again. Who does that? It would not work. |

biggy26:Protest shocked who? What was the effect of the so called 'shocker protest' when the biggest enemy of the Nigerian people and our number one enemy of progress were left completely unscathed in Abuja? Was the legislative arm of Government at the NASS inAbuja troubled at all during these protests? Imagine Dullards thinking they are wise laying siege on Lagos whereas overpaid Senators and Reps, one of the main reasons recurrent expenditure will never fall enough to boost capital spending significantly in Nigeria, are laughing all the way to the bank and Range Rover dealership across Abuja. |

OneTemplate:My brother, there's hand of Esau in all these. I smell political undertones here. They want to destroy Lagos to enable them penetrate or hijack it. It would not work. Kilo de? Se won bi sori meja ni? An attack on Lagos is an attack on South West. They should go and attack South East, South South etc. |

This is lawlessness of the highest order. Police should better tackle insecurity rather than being used as a political tool. |

Tareq1105:If you're okay with how the country is being run, millions of people are not okay with it and can express their dissatisfaction via peaceful protests. It is their right. If anybody wants to make it violent, such person should be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly. If people resolve to protest, the Government cannot do anything to stop it. The Government can decide to impose curfew, but for how long will they do that? A smart government will find ways to address the concerns of the people. The police should do their job and ensure that the protest is peaceful rather than threatening the people. |

Tareq1105:Egbon you should be mindful of what you say to avoid painting yourself in the wrong color... The job of the police during a protest is to keep the law and order, prevent anyone from attacking people and their properties, including the protesters. So if some people hijacked the protests and caused mayhem, the failure is on the police not the protesters! |

Tareq1105:Bro, let any sane person ask themself the simple question : is Lagos a more politically influential State than any other? Kilode ni tori Oloun? Granted Lagos is Nigeria's most economically influential State but it is madness to then make it the fighting ground for agitations relating to good governance and political reforms !!!! Protestors should take that sort of protest to Abuja where all senators, Reps, Governors, Ministers and other political administrators all have homes and offices. It is not Rocket science to note that most folks here who are insistent on protests holding in Lagos are not true Lagosians who genuinely love the state with all their heart. We really suffered in Lagos during the protest and it was hard to stomach and take in the misery we had to endure considering those who can give genuine protestors what they want all live and work in Abuja. Nigeria is ruled by the Federal Government from Abuja not Lagos. Any genuine protestors who really wants political and administrative change will accept this reality and focus any future protest firmly on Abuja |
| Re: "We Won't Allow Any Protest In Lagos", Police Warn Residents by optm(m): 8:46pm On Nov 05, 2020 |
Isn't the police supposed to provide security for the protesters as enshrined in the constitution and prevent it from being hijacked if that's their fear?. It's very clear that there's no regard for the Nigerian constitution and some persons are very well not subject to the constitution. Are we still operating under democracy ? It's a shame the judiciary is not speaking . #operation vote them all out 2023 # we can't continue like this |

[quote author=thebosstrevor1 post=95723260]Yes protest can be stopped before it even start because protest just don't start, they are usually organized and sponsored. Once you know the organizers, you can stop it. With what I have seen so far, government is not ready to reform the police |

Lagos is a failed state right now not because of the protests bt because of the stupid and ineffective government and leadership. I will however state no protests until we see if government is serious with the police reforms or still playing politics. Where are the police been prosecuted?? They are now doing cover ups and shaking hands in secret. ![]() When ur irresponsibility backfires u will start to cry again. Be responsible u won’t here ![]() |

Osyxcel:You see, this is where I have a problem believing people like you are genuine. Not many are okay with how the Country is being run so stop the cheap blackmail. Yet we must ask you and others to give reasons why it make sense to situate protests against the political misrule of all Nigerians in Lagos State, South West Nigeria, rather than Abuja that is the official Nigerian Seat of power and our Federal Government political and administrative base |

thebosstrevor1:The Avengers have no connection with EndSars protest... Go and check their reason for the threats you will find out that other than asking the govt to meet our demands in solidarity as fellow young people, what they are asking for now is particular to them... Like I said before I will leave them to shock you all as usual maybe you think Tompolo has shown up for nothing abi ![]() Relax we all will be alive in God's Name |

OneTemplate:So someone who resides in Lagos should travel to Abuja to protest in a federal system of government? Very wise of you I must say. Anyway, I'm happy you agreed that not many are happy with the way the country is being run. That's why we must demand a change. It's our right. |

Ballack1:OK. Come out and protest. The people whose shops and businesses you looted are also Nigerians. The policemen and soldiers whose colleagues you and your people murdered in the line of duty are all waiting for you I beg you, cone out and demonstrate. |

Lol! ![]() The police are wiser now. The last one, they deliberately stayed back in their stations so as not to be accused of suppressing the protest, thinking it will go away until the other non educated and unenlightened protesters (the thugs and hoodlums) took a queue from the educated ones at lekki tollgate and started blocking roads everywhere. They also misunderstood endsars as endpolice. They took the battle to the police, killed and injured alot of them, while majority of the people were happy at their predicament, making them the greatest casualty in the last protest. They're indeed wiser now and are trying to stop any protest that can lead to further massacre against them and their folks The police now know that Nigeria is not Hongkong. We have a long way to go. God help Nigeria. |
