They suddenly have a voice. They want to compound the already bad situation. They should please calm down and avoid another incident.

Wrong approach.

You can not ban protests for no specific reason or reasons, you need a valid reason to ban or restrict protests.

This is what we need to do moving forward after the horrible and devastating destruction of Lagos state.

1. The protest organizers must notify and secure permit the police.

2. The protest organizers must let the police know exactly their location and gathering point.

3. The protest organizers must categorically state the start and the end of the protest which must end before dusk or nightfall.

4. The protest organizers must internally police their protesters within their ranks to make sure that they are not doing anything illegal and also must be ready and willing to hand over lawbreakers to the police.

5. The police must secure and protect the protesters from start to finish

6. Any protest or gathering elsewhere that's not affiliated with the recognized and approved permits is illegal and must immediately be be stopped and if necessary protesters must be arrested.

7. We can not have unsupervised thousands of protesters in hundreds of locations all over the the state doing whatever they want especially considering the fact that we don't have enough law enforcement personnel to police protests and protesters in countless locations all over the state.

Bottomline, organizers, state government and the police must work together to do things the right way and to make sure that the so called hoodlums and criminal elements don't take advantage of the protests to destroy the state all over again.

Protesting is entering a new phase in Nigeria and protest organizers must coordinate and they must work with the police to curb criminal elements are not taking advantage of peaceful protest to destroy the state.

For now, it makes no sense to stage protests while the state is trying to heal and rebuild.

Protest shocked who? What was the effect of the so called 'shocker protest' when the biggest enemy of the Nigerian people and our number one enemy of progress were left completely unscathed in Abuja? Was the legislative arm of Government at the NASS inAbuja troubled at all during these protests?

Imagine Dullards thinking they are wise laying siege on Lagos whereas overpaid Senators and Reps, one of the main reasons recurrent expenditure will never fall enough to boost capital spending significantly in Nigeria, are laughing all the way to the bank and Range Rover dealership across Abuja.
Nice point, but if you think it didn't send chills done their spines, then you don't understand power.

What kind of crude mentality is this?
You're obviously one of those Nigerians smiling through the pain of whatever the government throws at you.
When we say #EndSars we say #EndBadGovernance, we say better life for nigerians, we say a better future for our children, we say stop police brutality, we say equal pay for equal work, we say no to political oppression. We aren't just doing this for ourselves but for our children.

How much do you think your children would buy a bag of rice?
How many lecturers would your daughters sleep with before they graduate from university?
How many years would your children stay jobless as graduates before beginning to sell on WhatsApp statuses?
How many jobs would your children take up just to put food in their mouths?

There's no bright future for you or your children if you don't say enough now.
This is a revolution. A positive one at that.
Speak up, cos that's the only weapon we have as citizens.
#EndSars
#SoroSoke
#EndBadGovernance

Children ke? What do Nigerians need children for?

Those children will curse you!!!

You can treat your own terrorists with care too but you have to move them to your region, not Lagos. Anytime the terrorists gather in Lagos in the name of "protest" they should be killed first before they try to kill others like last time.

if you call them terrorists and compare them to Boko Haram then it's safe to also treat them with care like Boko Haram, abi no b wetin govt dey do Boko Haram?

The whole problem in this country boil down to the disparities between the riches who are living a comfortable, happy life and those poor who are hungry and angry at the same time. Untill our leaders start bridging the existing wide gap between the extremely rich and poor, there will always be internal war and conflict. Class should be cut down. Taxation should be proportional to individuals income, and government should exempt those living in poverty level from paying tax that they don't even earn as income, and maybe give financial grant and aid on healthcare, accommodation and public services to the poor in the society. Citizens who are entitled to decent lives will not be interested in riots and civil protests. Life is glorious and worth living for the riches, but the poor are depressed and believe that they have nothing to lose even if hell is let lose. Nigerian Government policies are are beneficial and prospers the riches, while the poor are chastised and demoralized by the tough government policies and rules. This are economic issues of a modern time and the solution lies on economic deregulations and restructuring. Problems of a large populated society is more challenging and difficult to solve compare to a micro economy involving few populace in a smaller area of land, even with limited resources.
It is time for our political class to be attentive to voices at the grassroot. Perhaps a regional government which has been widely suggested by many elites could be a relevant solution in this critical and decisive time. Result could be of positive resolution if the idea of a zonal government could be adopted to facilitate independent management of the resources and crisis in each region. The use of brutal force against civilians will further exacerbate the fragile peace between security agents and citizens of this society. Government should consider that there are more than enough idle youths who are ready to risk their lives engaging with security agents. A listening ear is required in solving the problem on ground , and that should be the position of our government hitherto.
the nigerian govt is weaponizing poverty to easily retain power. They do not want to make the lives of the people better. They want it just the way it is so the people can remain subject to them . When a few becomes agitated, they throw them crumbs to pacify them. We would only get redemption by kicking them all out. The present political class are the common enemy . They have weakened all institution and brought them under control. They call the shots and are not subject to any mechanism of checks. Even the constitution is become powerless before them. And now the only resistance is the voice of the people which they seek to put a control mechanism over . We need a new government that would make our institutions of justice powerful and independent

that's their plan. To bring ethnicity or religious senntiments so as to bring division amongst us. Many Nigerians are not wise enough to realise the politicians always play this card to get the people divided and weaken their resolve bringing in sentiments in their sense of judgement. Most people don't understand once you destroy things during protest, you are indirectly taking away your right.

Some people will say it ìs their constitutional right to protest, yes it is but also know that destruction, blocking of roads and airports, burning down buildings, and occupying Government buildings is no more a protest again but a coup.

There are 2 sides to freedom, people have rights to protest lawfully and all countries have different procedures for people to observe before protesting .when such requirements are not met,its illegal and against the law.in some advanced countries, people can't just mobilize people for protest without approval and permit from the Police .this does not mean you don't have rights ,the police have right to stop any protest if it will cause violence. So the question is what does the law of the land say about protest and procedures .so I am not against protest but I believe people should go about it lawfully
