Honestly, one can be inherently daft but still successful. Donald Trump is a case in point. Some Christians should thank their stars that being successful is not always a function of critical thinking.

My hats off to Trump. He may be said to be a victim of his pride and it usually goes before a fall. But once youve been hated by the left the way he was even before he could declare his ambitions, it's almost difficult to resist the temptation not to rubb it in their face at every opportunity.

A 'problem' with Trump was that he had no previous political experience.

Many American politicans who become president have had some political evidence (Clinton and Reagan at least were governors for some time before becoming President....which is a good way of getting your feet wet for the Presidency: Reagan was even governor of California which is a mini-US for all intents and purposes). Trump didn't have much political experience, and he didn't listen well well to the pols surrounding him (unlike Eisenhower who I thik listened to his political colleagues)

You made a salient point. He never had a previous political career but enjoyed the benevolence of the American people. He wasn't elected by popular vote but the electoral college vote.

What did he give in return? Abuse, disrespect for all. He made a mockery of the white house. He made the prestigious office of the United States look like it was designed for charlatans.

The last four years, I saw an America I never knew existed. An America was was totally unfriendly to the rest of the world. He made all American allies look like fools. The clown was unapologetic about his conducts. He saw himself as the Pontius pilate.
