Rules are put there for a reason and meant to be followed. Something as simple as a UK point based system, you see people doing too much and later when there is a problem coming here to cry

What POF did you use for your cas or your school didnt ask ?... anyway me I cannt advice you more than follow the official rules. It is there NOT for DECORATIONS but meant to be followed to the letter T... that the structure of a Point Based system .. the rules states your money must be in your account for at least 28days. If he decides to go against it then o well. Whatever the outcomes then you guys will take it like that . Simple .

If you want to beat any time frame /rush then it better you wait your 28days and pay PRIORITY or supper priority instead of standard application. That a wiser decision

Yes ... the rule doesnt say the account should be frozen. You can use it regularly as long as you are careful that each single day the balance doesnt go less than even one naira of what you need it to be (tuition and maintenance)

If your using it doesnt stop that as there is enough money then yes you are good to carry on

So I have just decided to go with an offer from a Uni. in Cardiff but my TB certificate does not carry this University's address but my previous flat address in Scotland. 1. What is the likely IHS surcharge for a 2-year Masters programme, applicant travelling alone?
2. When does the 28-day stipulation for account statement start counting? Let me paint a scenario, i just funded my account 2 weeks ago and waiting for another two weeks to apply/request for CAS, tuition deposit paid, TB test end of this week...at what time will the 28 days start counting for visa application proper?
3. I have funds in my two accounts, can i submit two statements that add up to the required/sufficient amount? Both statements are in my name but from different banks?
4. Can i submit an electronically generated statement or it must be signed at the bank?
5. Does anyone have any idea of likely GBP/NGN rate that is applicable as at today?
Kindly assist with answers...sorry, if all these had been discussed in previous threads...abeg...

My opinion is that the address doesn't matter.
In the past, when the TB thing was newly introduced, they would do an Xray on immigrants/long stay visa holders at Heathrow on arrival. I think the purpose of the address they ask for on your TB cert is for tracing purposes, (I think there's supposed to be a follow-up TB screening at your GP after you arrive the UK), but given that they will of course know what school you end up in, it doesn't really matter what address you use as they can get hold of you when they want if you fail to show up for the follow-up.

However, being on the safe side is always a good thing, so invest that 9k.

There’s no point to rush. Even if you start counting 28 days from today by 6th of December your bank statement will be ready and you can print on Monday 7th of December.

I’m sure there’s liberty till 2nd week of January before resumption and you can always ask for 1 or 2 weeks extension from your uni.

No. You can only use investment account as long as the funds are immediately accessible.
Fixed deposits are usually not accessible before a particular date in the future so you should move your funds to a regular savings or current account from which you can immediately access the funds.

This is because Nigerian banks auto-renew fixed deposits on a rolling basis after the initial deposit period runs out except you terminate it, at which point, your funds go back to being accessible.

Based on my experience, when a FD investment is terminated, the account is closed and funds deposited in the individual's regular account and if that's what happens in your case, you'll need to start your 28 day count in 2-3 days.
If the same FD account will still be in use by you after the FD ends (if it's allowed by your bank), then get a regular statement for the 28 days before your application as the FD letter won't cut it.
