How PDP Is Losing It In The Southeast. by Nwadiuto247: 8:31pm On Nov 11, 2020
PDP will lose a lot of vote in the southeast in 2023 election due to the following.

The 2015 and 2019 voting pattern in the South East was a kind of protest vote against APC who they see as people who cheated Jonathan out of power. With Buhari out of the game in 2023 the voting pattern will change and
PDP will lose a good number of it's voters in the South East to APC.

2. The rumour of killing of igbos in Oyigbo is another factor that has dampen the excitement the south east have about Wike and PDP.

3. The defection of Gov. Umahi to APC will lead to more defection before 2023 and this will affect PDP. Votes in the SE.

The days of 5% APC and 95% PDP in the South East are over.

APC has more visible projects in South East than the PDP but PDP gave South East more appointments than APC so each of the party has something to compaigñ with in the southeast.

The Southeast is now a level playing ground for both parties.

The SE are the cause of their political predicaments today. They lost the plot after the death of Zik. No matter how the pro-Biafran dumb bandwagon may want to paint Zik, he made sure the Igbos got their fair share in the power sharing equation. Any wonder why since 1993 no Igbo have come close to attaining the Presidential seat. Following the PDP stupidly was a political mistake that has come back to hunt Igbos.

Seeing that the PDP had no future for them from 1999 -2003, they should have joined any formidable party to send them packing. But that was never done. In 2003 when the opportunity presented itself they foolishly played the southern game by supporting Obasanjo instead of a Buhari with a SE running mate. They had the opportunity with Buhari/Okadigbo ANPP but cowardly supported Obasanjo. What did Obasanjo gift them in return, political death? The same Obasanjo is the godfather of MASSOB who has now metamorphosed to IPOB, a monster currently ravaging the Igbo nation.

The opportunity arose again in 2007 with Buhari / Umezuoke but still our people ignorantly sold their birthright supporting Yar’adua / GEJ. Though Yar’adua was fair to everyone, but fairness and sympathy votes don’t count in Nigeria.

The last opportunity came in 2015 when Buhari toured the SE for Igbo alliance. A zone that had stood with him since 2001, but what he saw made him weep. Seeing that he couldn't get it he looked to the SW. This was where Ndigbo shot themselves in the foot. Even when the likes of Rochas with his APGA faction along with Ogbonnaya Onu ANPP rallied Ndigbo to join the APC, the wicked PDP politicians of Igbo extraction called them outcast and continued dining with the PDP. What should have been a bargaining chip in the APC was sold on the alter of greed. By foolishly standing with GEJ in 2015, the SE sounded their political death knell.

Well, It’s never too late than never. The SE must leave the PDP in drove, either starting a new party or seek the fellowship of the APC. A people must have self-worth and not be easily swayed by emotions. This is the lesson.

Igbos are unserious. So now, APC is no longer an Islamic party. Their love for ready made will be their undoing. Igbos cannot really claim to have been completely loyal to PDP.

Anambra has always been APGA

Abia has fluctuated between PDP, PPA and PDP

Imo has also fluctuated between PDP, PPA, APGA, APC, PDP and APC again.

Ebonyi is now in APC.

Only Enugu can lay claim to PDP loyalty.

The truest and most loyal PDP members are found in Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states. So when talk about Igbos being loyal to PDP, I just SMH.

Igbos are a big tribe, they should all rally behind APGA, the party which is the legacy of Ojukwu to them and grow it to National acceptance as some Individuals grew APC into the ruling party it is now.

Others cannot cook and long throat Igbos arrive to chop. who does that.

Too much hate and bile in one post.

I am amused by the fact that you conveniently excluded Ekwueme vice presidency under Shagari , which would would have given birth to a democratically elected Igbo presidency just few years after the civil war if Buhari did not intervene via military coup. Despite the war ,the first time it was time for real politics we took the centre stage, even Awolowo, despite all his alliance with the north during the war, lost out to the more sophiscated political machinery of the East.

Anyway the fact that the so called Igbo political dilemma gives you headache is a clear sign that they live in your subconscious mind. The average Igbo man is not bothered about what people like you think of his politics. Right to choice is his fundamental human right and he will continue to exercise it to your ultimate misery.

One thing most of you is yet to grasp is the cultural idiosyncrasies and world view of a race as intriguing as Ndigbo. Even if all the Igbo political leaders decides to join APC today you guys would be shocked by the reaction of the Igbo public during election. Right to life equity and justice, remain the most core of our value.

Your culture might prefer APC to build sky scrappers for you in the cities while the most vulnerable and weak die in remote farms in villages in the hands of killerherdsmen. That is your own thing. But it makes no sense to an Igbo man. What is happening in Nigeria presently with total subjugation and maiming of the citizens by government and their sponsored less official army is the reason Ndigbo will hand APC another rejection come 2023.

It does not matter if he wins or not, but an Igbo man must make known his mind without minding the consequences. Fortunately for us, everyman is a governor in his own house, so a thousand Umahi might be speaking for himself. PDP should do fast and hand over the presidency to the zone they preferred outside of the south east, Igbo public will respond then our political office holders will get the message.

We are not fighting a short term battle ,NO, we are fighting in the long run. We are building our self up for the future. We are building alliances base on ideologies. The voting pattern in the last election despite heavy rigging by APC should be an eye opener. We are a big tribe and can influence in a large way political followership. Relax ,watch and learn. grin

Peace

South East is overrated and the PDP know it.
Despite having their son on the ballot in 2019, South East gave PDP the least votes in the South.
And you think any reasonable party that's aware of high voter apathy in the East will give them its ticket?
Below is the score of PDP in the southern part of Nigeria in 2019.
South East — 1,693,485
South West — 1,776,670
South South — 2,231,232

Useless, unnecessary propaganda!

Igbos massively supported NPN even against their own NPP. Point being that once you don't treat Igbos as second class people like APC has done, they will support you.

Igbos rejection of APC is a bitter pill difficult to swallow for the egomaniacs.

They will taste it once more in 2023 and Igbos will be fine still. Once you are big you are big, anyone that thinks otherwise is on a long thing.

A bottle of Hero beer for you Bro!

All the APC propaganda to use faceless "Igbo" youths to force PDP dance to their tune will fail woefully. PDP has already zoned the 2023 presidency to the Northeast zone. Let APC zone the presidency to the southeast if they claim to love the southeast so much. Instead of sponsoring faceless touts to agitate that PDP should zone the presidency to southeast, while them at APC will zone their presidency to Northwest or Southwest !

Meanwhile, I totally love how Buhari is destroying Nigeria with nepotism. In 2015, perhaps 2% to 5% of Nigerians believed the country should break up. Today it is at least between 60% - 70%.

You don't need to be a political expert to understand why Igbos rejected a jihadist ab-initio and will still do it again and again, unless APC changes its strong arm, oppressive attitude towards the southeast. Luckily, that attitude is also damaging Nigeria irreparably and exposing their true agenda for Nigeria.
