Flatter to deceit!!! Who has the east ever delivered in an election. Stop overestimating yourselves. The SEast delivers the least votes in elections.

Who has the SEast given electoral victory??

Eweduman, stop lying to yourself with your penchant for propaganda. Elections did not start in 2015. You ewedu electorates have lost more elections than the east since 1960s, go and ask Awolowo, Mko, Falae, Ribadu etc who depended on your votes and failed woefully. grin

Too much hate and bile in one post.

I am amused by the fact that you conveniently excluded Ekwueme vice presidency under Shagari , which would would have given birth to a democratically elected Igbo presidency just few years after the civil war if Buhari did not intervene via military coup. Despite the war ,the first time it was time for real politics we took the centre stage, even Awolowo, despite all his alliance with the north during the war, lost out to the more sophiscated political machinery of the East.

Anyway the fact that the so called Igbo political dilemma gives you headache is a clear sign that they live in your subconscious mind. The average Igbo man is not bothered about what people like you think of his politics. Right to choice is his fundamental human right and he will continue to exercise it to your ultimate misery.

One thing most of you is yet to grasp is the cultural idiosyncrasies and world view of a race as intriguing as Ndigbo. Even if all the Igbo political leaders decides to join APC today you guys would be shocked by the reaction of the Igbo public during election. Right to life equity and justice, remain the most core of our value.

Your culture might prefer APC to build sky scrappers for you in the cities while the most vulnerable and weak die in remote farms in villages in the hands of killerherdsmen. That is your own thing. But it makes no sense to an Igbo man. What is happening in Nigeria presently with total subjugation and maiming of the citizens by government and their sponsored less official army is the reason Ndigbo will hand APC another rejection come 2023.

It does not matter if he wins or not, but an Igbo man must make known his mind without minding the consequences. Fortunately for us, everyman is a governor in his own house, so a thousand Umahi might be speaking for himself. PDP should do fast and hand over the presidency to the zone they preferred outside of the south east, Igbo public will respond then our political office holders will get the message.

We are not fighting a short term battle ,NO, we are fighting in the long run. We are building our self up for the future. We are building alliances base on ideologies. The voting pattern in the last election despite heavy rigging by APC should be an eye opener. We are a big tribe and can influence in a large way political followership. Relax ,watch and learn. grin

Peace
If Igbos are truly this objective like you make your post depict, they shouldn't be supporting pdp as an alternative to apc, because pdp is the major reason Nigeria's fresh restart in 1999 turned and continue to turn to nightmare. In reality, igbos are proud and egocentric people, who never want to accept they are wrong, even in the face of glaring evidence. You know the flip side? You guys are politically useless, so the other two major tribes don't give a hoot on whatever political choices y'all make.

Beautiful submission. Why should we sell our conscience just because we want to belong to the accepted group when it.means jettisoning the fundamental core of our belief in equity and fairness and Justice for all

Eastlink:
The SE are the cause of their political predicaments today. They lost the plot after the death of Zik. No matter how the pro-Biafran dumb bandwagon may want to paint Zik, he made sure the Igbos got their fair share in the power sharing equation. Any wonder why since 1993 no Igbo have come close to attaining the Presidential seat. Following the PDP stupidly was a political mistake that has come back to hunt Igbos.

Seeing that the PDP had no future for them from 1999 -2003, they should have joined any formidable party to send them packing. But that was never done. In 2003 when the opportunity presented itself they foolishly played the southern game by supporting Obasanjo instead of a Buhari with a SE running mate. They had the opportunity with Buhari/Okadigbo ANPP but cowardly supported Obasanjo. What did Obasanjo gift them in return, political death? The same Obasanjo is the godfather of MASSOB who has now metamorphosed to IPOB, a monster currently ravaging the Igbo nation.

The opportunity arose again in 2007 with Buhari / Umezuoke but still our people ignorantly sold their birthright supporting Yar’adua / GEJ. Though Yar’adua was fair to everyone, but fairness and sympathy votes don’t count in Nigeria.

The last opportunity came in 2015 when Buhari toured the SE for Igbo alliance. A zone that had stood with him since 2001, but what he saw made him weep. Seeing that he couldn't get it he looked to the SW. This was where Ndigbo shot themselves in the foot. Even when the likes of Rochas with his APGA faction along with Ogbonnaya Onu ANPP rallied Ndigbo to join the APC, the wicked PDP politicians of Igbo extraction called them outcast and continued dining with the PDP. What should have been a bargaining chip in the APC was sold on the alter of greed. By foolishly standing with GEJ in 2015, the SE sounded their political death knell.

Well, It’s never too late than never. The SE must leave the PDP in drove, either starting a new party or seek the fellowship of the APC. A people must have self-worth and not be easily swayed by emotions. This is the lesson.

So politics is all about being in the ruling party rather than voting for your conscience?

Some of you here talking foolishly.

Election is not about the president alone.

Will any party be happy to lose five governors, 15 senators and over 40 house of rep members from the southeast to an opposition party.?

Some. Fools here keep talking about SE having low number of voters. STOP DISGRACING YOURSELVES HERE PLEASE.
