Greetings house! Please I need your advice.

Had BSc. Agric Engineering (second class lower) in 2005
Been self employed since graduation
Now 40years, married with wife(no kids yet)
Desire now to relocate to Canada through study route since that will be faster
Currently living in my own personal house.

What post grad program do you suggest? Or will just Diploma make sense?

I desire IT though but will there be a possibility of being granted visa with a change to IT?

With my age, any hope for Visa? Possibility for my wife to join me?

Abeg my people, your input highly needed. Thanks.

I think you should be fine in terms of financial eligibility. I don't have the information for health plan and book supplies. All I know is 10kcda yearly for living expenses as requested by IRCC

Thanks for your response sir. I appreciate.

I need to drop this so that posterity will judge me kindly. Apparently this is my first post on this forum and I hope it won’t be the last. I have actually being on here for more than 3 years. I have learnt a lot in this journey from how to seek for potential supervisor up to ppr. I started reading from thread 1, initially, I have so many trouble questions but each time I read all my questions would be asked by somebody and answers are easily provided. The more I get more information and the more I get questions and answers. Many thanks to those that ask irrelevant and good questions plus lots of appreciations to those that freely provided answers to all questions.
I bet you, if you take your time to read, you will easily get answers to most of your questions. Some guys in the past have done good justice such as, phemmy, thesoj, yemdog, maziude, osemigho, jynuwa etc just to mention a few. There is one guy called breadandbeans, the guy spitted some fire, I think he has long deactivated his account for the reason best known to him.
I appreciate God Almighty for absolute everything plus many thanks to frankrobben1, this guy is actually an Angel in human skin. He has a large heart and despite all the dirt thrown at him he still continue to respond to people request happily. Frank, I personally appreciate you and the advice you gave for the finance really worked a lot for me. Only God Almighty will answer all your obvious and secrete prayers.
I really sold myself very well with evidences. I introduce myself and discuss my passion for Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering to be precise. I discuss how I became the University Scholar when I got to 200l with free tuition fee and a yearly stipend of 20k till I graduate and I attached the scholarship certificate having attained and maintaining a CGPA of 4.0 and above (God bless the then VC Prof. Hussein). I discuss my excellent skills in some computer application such as Unix and SQL, I also discuss about my knowledge of machine learning using python. I moved a step further to talk about my masters having graduated with distinction which was one of the best result of my set. Finally, I mentioned my plan upon return to my home country after my studies.
Program: PhD Electronic System Engineering
School: University of Regina
Documents submitted:
All CIC forms
SOP
Admission Letter
Funding
Personal statement of account of 4.3M (My mum gifted 4.2m which was advised by Frank)
Marriage certificate and birth certificates of my kids
Recommendation Letter of previous work
Academic Transcripts and Certificate (BSC and MSC)
Office ID card, offer letter and Pay Slips for three months.
Application Timeline
Applied: June 30th
Biometric requested: July 1st
Medical requested: July 29th
Medical passed: August 6th
AIP: August 6th
Biometric done: August 24th
BVL: November 10th
PPR: November 11th

I thank God my success story is shared in this part 17 before it will soon be closed now that it’s getting to the threshold.
I wish everybody all the very best in life and God bless us

Caveat: Please all the questions you need to ask me here and please don’t PM me, I may not respond. Thank you for your understanding.

Hearty Cheers.

Congratulations to you @blcoolfemol. Thanks for the best wishes and prayers. I appreciate you leaving your feedback and sharing your stimulating experience. It's very rewarding to know that you heeded to my advices and it worked for you in the end. I'm glad to be part of your success story....All the best in your academics.

Top of the day to everyone on here
I've been a constant follower of this great thread.
Straight to my question, for about over a year now, I've been seeking for supervisor for my MSC application (Animal Science) with no positive yet. I however applied to University of Manitoba September this year(without a supervisor) for summer 2021, last week I was approved for admission with a clause of getting a supervisor before Jan 1. Anyone who can guide me as to what I've been doing wrong or what I should be doing cos I'm still mailing with no response yet ..
Thanks

I will advice you for a Post Graduate program that is reasonable in light with your current job role. In the event that a program in Journalism is a progression in your career path, you can apply for it.

You can change your DLI and Program to another, however, you must advice IRCC via your CIC account about the change and provide proof of enrollment and maybe a copy of your tuition receipt in the new program.

Also, those that applied to Cambrian College, what are the documents you applied with?

Most often going for colleges with lower tuition especially in rural areas dramatically decreases your prospect of getting an approval. Consequently, I'll recommend you apply to good colleges in Canada in the likes of Humber College, Constoga College, Mohawk College, Fanshawe just to mention a few. You can probably switch to another college upon your arrival in Canada if you feel that you can't afford the fees of these Colleges.

Good Morning,

Must part payment for tuition fees be from sponsor's account?

Any red flag if it comes from the account of the applicant?

Your response appreciated.

what do you think about memorial University of Newfoundland? I searched and found that their tuition fee is quite low but I think it's in a remote part of canada.

Omo , them Mohawk and Humber are quoting over 4.5 million for PGD programs . Looks likely I have to forfeit the Canadian dream now

Nice!!! I will be joining you in Halifax next year. Still waiting for my PPR. Which school are you at? Mine is Dalhousie University.
Dampops:
Good evening House,
For anyone planning to travel soon once they get their stamped passports back, let me share the experience of someone that arrived in Canada a couple of days ago....

“ Hey y'all!

I just woke up from my first night in quarantine.
So - I have been able to enter Canada. I am just gonna narrate the whole trip. For anyone who doesn't care about details: There is nothing to worry about if you have a study permit and proof of enrollment! For everyone else:

So I departed in Frankfurt and was already asked about my documents at check-in. Then again, when boarding. I have also had to get my temperature taken. I got on the flight with ease - which was low-key unexpected.

After 9 hours I was in Toronto. I was getting kinda nervous at that point. So I walked up the counter to the CBSA officer and I was literally just asked to show my study permit and proof of enrollment. I was asked nothing else - the officer passed my documents back and I was let in. It took less than a minute. I did not expect that.

I am also confused since I did not need to show the ArriveCAN app or anything. I am still not sure what to do with the app now - I can not fill in anything else. I might call the support soon since I am supposed to fill in a self-check every day. I can update on that if people care.

Before boarding my next flight, I had to get my temperature taken again.

When I got to Halifax I just needed to get my luggage and present another form (Nova Scotia Save Check-In) that I had filled out online in advance.

Now in quarantine I have to fill out several health self-assessments everyday.

Other than that I have just been laying in bed the whole time lol

I hope this helps everyone who is planning on travelling soon! Don't stress about it. My experience was good! The worst part was the travel itself (delays, weird airport procedures, etc...)”
