Do you by chance work at the Royal?

Check houses around Kensington which is walking distance to the Royal tho there are controversies about some areas there

flinton:
Good evening Sirs and Mas grin

I'm here again to bother the house

As we are coming out of isolation and our Airbnb apartment will soon expire(24th), there is an urgent need to rent an apartment
Looking for an apartment can be overwhelming
I have been searching for 1 bed flat apartment(family of 3 an infant inclusive).
Average price for a modest 1 bed flat is &£400 and I'm also seeing some 2 bed flats for £450.
Should I go for the 2 bed flat?

Also what should I look out for to avoid stories that touch

Note we are in liverpool, we will prefer houses close to royal liverpool university hospital.
Thanks

Make sure it comes furnished.... since you are a student do not touch any flat that comes unfurnished.

2 bed or 1 bed will be a personal choice. .. council tax is exempt for student so the other difference in bills light, gas, electricity might not be so much between the two.
Ma, we are not students
Moreover furnished apartments prices are higher
Most of the furnished one bed comes with a clause "not suitable for children"
Furnished 2 bed flats are costly

As you are on work visas , I will advise you go for a 2 bedroom if looking long term. Infants - toddlers tend to take up more space with their stuffs and before you know it, house don full.

Again, it's down to personal choice

flinton:

Thank you
Plz total family size is 3(me, wifey and baby)

I find this advice important to me as I have lived in a furnished studio when I was studying some years back in Asia. In fact I got married and we both enjoyed the furnished studio apartment then. But now there is an infant and though I intend getting a 1bed room furnished apartment in Glasgow, with kitchen and bedroom on a space of its own cos of my infant, I am very much concern about having an infant in a furnished apartment, as any form of damage caused by the child on the furnitures or property will be expensive.

I very much believe in furnished apartment for student year(s) and you can do otherwise when you get a job. But never tried with an infant(boy) and I have a feeling he will be a miraculous/magical boy. He’s displaying a very good climbing skills and while he has not caused any form of damage in our present apartment (3bed). I am scared of a furnishing that belongs to another.

Please advice with those specific info above.

Pls Anyone and everyone with miraculous/magical kid(s). Pls help a junior club member.

That should be the least of your worries cos that magical boy would still draw or write on the walls.

Fair enough .... it's always important to go with what suits your needs. Furnished cannt be that costly in liverpool area, the hassle of getting your own furniture is there and then having to move it everytime u move

But do your research well. I am sure you make the choice that works best

Going into a rented apartment with kids, is advisable you get a semi furnished apartment. You buy your own Mattress, freezer, sofa, kettle, microwave e.t.c. If any property belonging to the Landlord is damaged, you must pay for it even after you moved out. Mind you, most UK private apartments will want you to vacate the house like the way you met it. I once lived in 1bedroom flat unfurnished, when moving out, the van Removal staff damaged the stair handrail, when doing check out by my Landlord, I lost all deposit of over £1000 because my Landlord wants me to repair the stair handrail, paint the house the way I moved in and do so some other stuff.

Once you have a child or children .... I think your deposit is fair game. It might come back or might not. If it doesnt then that the price to pay

Furnished or unfurnished, still boils down to individual circumstances. For students I just think the hassle of getting furniture and then moving with it or having to dispose of it.

If a student feel he or she can handle that then go for unfurnished. Scared just wipe clean when you move it . If it breaks it breaks but you just try your best to keep an eye on children

Lol when the poster mentioned that furnished apartments are expensive, in my mind I was like “if you cost the hassle of buying furniture and moving it around when you change address, lol, you’ll understand how cheap furnished apartments are”.

But then I don’t have a child so I get why he may be worried about a child in a furnished apartment.

in all the advantages of living in an unfurnished apartment surpasses the one of furnished. You have the choice to furnish the apartment to your taste. Furnished apartment are more expensive than unfurnished apartment whereby the addition money you used in paying for a furnished apartment could be used in buying property that would be yours and you have the choice of disposing it for any amount u wish to sell on Facebook market or carry it along to a new apartment.

Here is the mathematics

In the northeast two bed room flat unfurnished cost £350-£400 while furnished apartment costs between £550-£600. If you stay in a furnished apartment let say for 12months and you are paying £550 PCM for same flat u could pay £400 for if it was unfurnished, the extra £150 u paid for it being furnished if calculated is £1800. If you want to furnish your house to good taste £1800 is more than enough for you and all this property belongs to you. The benefits of getting an unfurnished house surpasses a furnished one. If one have the money to furnish one should go for an unfurnished one.
