sorry for the late response, I got hit last night.
I have both firmwares, the second one made me lose my sub on mytv. but I restored it back using the first link firmware. still nothing came up on that frequency

Please take note that the signal on 12645 v 30000 does not necessarily come up because your dish is facing 28.2 e (Joy tv) Because the signal is not the same strength as that of joy tv. However you can possibly solve this by making sure that the signal on 12525 v 30000 of high quality. So push the signal strength to the limit. From 70 percent up.

Another thing that will make the signal to not come up is when you're running a multi lnb setup and 28.2e is not your primary lnb. That way, you and I know you have reduced the possibility of other frequency in that sat bedside joy tv ((12525 v 30000 ) to have a better signal strength.

All the above listed is some of the possible cause of the signal not coming up when you have upgraded the software.

If I ware you, I will just forget other Sat position for now and turn my primary lnb to joy tv position and get the best, highest signal possible. Go to my decoder, check the signal on 12645 v 30000. Once it is green, I will scan, view the channels to be sure I have succeeded in getting the multistream function on my decoder. Before I will, then go back to my dish to put everything else in place to suit whatever old channels I was viewing before I decided to be interested in the multistream function.

You can try boosting the signal on this frequency to its maximum, then go back inside and try

12605 v 30000

11050 H 30000

51.5 degree east

Get the signal,
scan out the station
Call their customer care number
To get it activated

Or do it yourself through their website

http://www.mytvportal.net/pairing.aspx

The above link gets your decoder activated, should you choose to do it yourself.

Just three things you need to get correctly

Stb id

Stb serial number

Stb code number

Once you input them correctly and click on Pair..

Voila!! You just got yourself how to activate. Wait a few minutes and the channels will open

No doubt! You are a blessing to many on here. Thanks, plenty.

But activation or not does that stop from me making use of the decoder for another satellites now? Also, I want to ask, does the exclusive channels ( mytv) has an expiry date or months?

Lest I forget, lastly, must the activation be done when I am already @51e? ...and where can these codes be found?

Baba, u are on points, all u posted are valid. 28.2E is secondary, I just put it on 26E. I have done some adjustments, bam! The signal pops up, got all the channels, but still not stable. Lnb should be on what time? 2'oclock, 3, 4, or 5?

Thanks man.

Most of the time is either 4 or 7

But you can still use that last frequency I gave you to do the signal boosting

I am using h265 but I observe, on my screen, it's displaying h264, the screenshot below. Is this normal?

Really sorry I lost sight of this message yesterday.

To your first question, which I believe you must have resolved, you don't need activation to view other channels in the same sat or other satellite.

Secondly the exclusive channels has a duration of one year and can be renewed with 3k5 on a yearly basis

Thirdly you really don't need to be in 51.5 degree to activate. But what's the point of going through the activation process if you have not scanned out their channels?
.
Most people stay for months, years before even bothering to activate it, if they are just using the decoder for other free to air purpose. But the beauty is that, the one year free sub will always be there till the day, week, month, or years you choose to activate it.

Finally, you can find the codes at the system information menu

Serial number is at the button of the decoder

I don't know if you were here when we use this layman's analogy to describe H.256 decoder?

Take H.265 decoder as your modern DVD player and H.264 as a VCD player.

As you already know, the DVD player will play any VCD disc. But the vcd player cannot play any DVD disc.

Now in relation to your question, you will notice that when you insect a vcd disc on your DVD player, on the screen it will show you that the disc inserted is on a vcd format.

Now translate that to what you are seeing on your TV screen, then you will understand that , the decoder is only telling you that the channel you are viewing is transmitting on an H.264 format.

Not a decoder. I am using a Samsung TV with inbuilt satelite.

If it is a tv with inbuiit decoder function, it might not have multistream capability or h265.... Same happens to some decoders too, not all decoder has multistream and h265/264.

Your response to his post is far from why he said that. I guess you never really followed the series of his post that lead to that.

His situation has to do with the audio of the free view channels not coming up. Which has nothing to do with multistream. So if you have a work around to that, you can share with the house.

By the way it's a Samsung smartTV . So anybody with a solution to that can please update the house.

Just seeing this . Do you mean the 497s has a year free sub before one can start subbing again. I use the 497s but the activation thing is stressful and I have to abandon the activation and use it for fta only.I don’t even have the mytv customer care number. Each time I tried activation through their page it shows invalid.

I have the serial under the decoder and saw the code number in information area but the issue is the smart card number I don’t really get that , I always enter the stb ID which is fourteen alphanumeric . Yet I get invalid once I clicked pair. Is their something wrong with them or how do you go about yours or must one sub before it can be paired

How do you guys know when to upgrade your strong or any decoder that's upgradeable? Is there any way to know when to upgrade your decoder, or one just have to go to their sites to check if there is a new upgrade software info for an upgrade? ??

Yes! It does!

Honestly, I just didn't feel the need to bother Digitman anymore because he's really sacrificed and helped a lot already.

The bolded is exactly my setback with the upgrade issue but mine is even worst as the menu procedure at the information area isn't available on mine- I tried and tried everything but to no avail. And yes, the card number issue is another setback as it's not available or visible too. Anyway, I don't feel the need to do the upgrade anymore since I am capable to work with FTA myself now.

If you are using an official decoder and your dish is pointed at the sat that contains their station. You are most likely to be getting over the air (OTA) update from the service provider whenever there is a new update.

However people tend to go for unofficial update because of the patch that comes with it, so as to use it for other dark side purposes if and when it is available.

Take for example.. The official software in strong can not open the etv Africa channel in 3w. But with the unofficial patched software. The station will open.

You don't need to sub for your first time activation. All you need do is input everything correctly.

Sometimes imputing your serial number wrongly can give you such error.

You need a very calm nerve to input those things correctly and cross check very well before clicking the pair button.

Below is an attached image of their customer care number.

Do these decoders mentioned above have any website for us to download upgrade software?
Hellobox website is (freedvb.com )and GT media is (freesat.com...) you can get their software there and everything concerning about the two decoders too...

About the former, must I be on the same sat position with them before I can do that?

The latter, where do I get this update, any form or app?

I need to know both or the better option where I can be up to date with their software update.
