Morality doesn't equate to salvation!

Morality won't take you to heaven... won't save your soul.

And then... how moral do you think you can be by your own doing? Humans by nature are fallible! Without the grace of God, you can't be completely moral!
But attending church will?

I don't know about church service, but missing mass on Sunday or other days of obligation on purpose is a sin

They will never understand.
They should go to ASIAN countries and threaten them, let's see how things will play out.
Many fall for their gimmicks because of threats.
People sell their properties and handover to them.
So many families in Nigeria are now owned by Pastors.
Even when KIDS SCHOOL FEES have become issues of contemplation, some wives will still raise money to settle their pastors, who will always ensure their kids remain perpetually in schools.

So today(Sunday) I decided to stay at home because of yesterday's wedding I attended. Not that I don't go to church but I came back home yesterday feeling very tired, even till this morning.

A neighbour saw me this morning and was like "Bros, you no go church today?" I tried to make him understand why but he kept on telling me how it's wrong not to go to church and stuff.

So the question on my mind today is, why do people tag others who "miss" Sunday service as sinners?
So, what are you doing at home?
Re: Not Attending Church Every Sunday. Is It Such A Big Sin? by Jack005(m): 10:14am On Nov 15, 2020
I've not gone to church for years now and I'm not sure I will... Most Christians are evil and hypocritical beings.

sure you have not thought of essential workers. Jesus even placed care at emergency moments over going to the physical church
Re: Not Attending Church Every Sunday. Is It Such A Big Sin? by pocohantas(f): 10:22am On Nov 15, 2020
Depends on what you consider a sin. The last time I willingly set foot in a church, I was 19. That should tell you how long ago it was. After that I only went for weddings, maybe chid dedications...then I cut all off.

When people ask me “didn’t you go to church today?” i just assume something is wrong with the person’s head. Our closeness would determine my response.

Don’t ask me useless questions when you will knack me anyhow if I loose-guard.

Yes it is a big sin to religious people

Why do they, it would be wise to ask them o

religious people . That is suspicious. I have come to see many who are religious but their heart is different from the true essence of religion.

RELIGION IS A SCAM ESTABLISHED MY MAN TO SUBDUE HIS FELLOW MAN

IN ALL FAIRNESS, IF YOU AND SOME OTHER PERSON WERE ARRESTED AND YOU ARE JAILED FOR NOT OBEYING TRAFFIC RULES WHILE THE OTHER PERSON WAS JAILED FOR COMMITING MURDER. BOTH OF YOU ARE GIVEN THE SAME SENTENCE, WOULD YOU IN YOUR SANE MIND SAY THE JUDGEMENT WAS FAIR?

UNTIL YOU ANSWER THAT QUESTION PRACTICALLY, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE BRAINWASHED

John 4:21-24
21 “Woman,” Yeshua replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

1 Peter 2:4-5
4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— *5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Christ.*

1 Peter 2:9
*But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood*, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

.

.
In the new covenant, you as a believer is the church (house of Yahuah/God) not a building (2 Corinthians 5:1, Acts 17:24, Acts 7:48, Matthew 24:1-2 and John 4:21-24) and a priest while Yahushua (Christ) is the high priest (Read Hebrew 7).

Hebrews 7:26-27
26 Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.

Next FEBRUARY will make it my 13years Anniversary of staying away from Church and its related activities.
Join me as I mark such an adorable feat.

I prefer teaching my KIDS, standard Morals than enrolling them into "speaking in tongues" classes which they completely know nothing about.
CHURCH isn't the only place wia morals can be taught.
In Fact the teaching of MORALS usually stems from the home and the way we do things.
AFRICAN TRADITIONAL HOMES were birthed on morals even before the WHITES came.
KIDS respected their parents and assisted.
WIVES honoured their husbands.
Husbands were really heads and not now.

Well Said!
Congratulations Sir.

I stopped attending church 3 years ago.
I'm glad I did.

I am a moralist and that is how I will bring up my kids.

If you are concerned about what your neighbor said about you not going to church or the belief that people who don’t go to church on Sunday are sinners, then you have to go to church more so that you can learn Christianity from religious activities.

Not attending church is not a sin...

Attending with the wrong intension is the greatest sin...

Wrong intension as in: Flaunting that designers bags and shoes and clothes..

What should the "right intention" be for going to church?

There is no God.
There is no life after death.
Do what is good according to your conscience.
Do what gives you a good name, high self esteem and makes you proud of yourself, fulfilled and happy.
The day you die,you go into oblivion..Unaware of anything, same way you were before you were conceived and born..Even while in your mother's womb.

You need to state your current age for this info to really make sense. But more importantly, what made you stop going to church willingly?

I am 38yrs now. I stopped because it didn’t make sense anymore. Over the years I have realized my values and ethics were not shaped, maintained or enforced because I was religious. It was just common sense and my conscience at work. Most importantly I hate hypocrites and selective adherents that makeup churches. Oh, I can’t date you without you giving me toto, but you must submit because the Bible says so. Are you maddd?? angry

If you believe there is no God, how then will you explain the undeniable existence of everything around us - the existence of a universe that is, to the best of our understanding, infinite!

Is not a sin but it can make you sin. The word of God is something that charge you and you don't hear it, it can make you that was righteous and holy last week become unrighteous and sinful this week.

Wow! That's a really long time ago.

But I think religion plays a role in shaping and maintaining people's values and ethics. For instance, the abstinence of some people from fornication, alcoholism and the like is influenced by religion and not "common sense". Commonsensically, I wouldn't see anything wrong in fornication personally; it's just two people enjoying themselves.
Without religion, I believe there will be a serious and worrisome moral decadence in the society.

Like Trump himself you people get more delusional each day. The posts by Trump supporters like yourself never surprised me- a mixture of paranoia, blatant lies and religious fanatism

However come January 20th you and him will be silenced. I look forward to the Bible verses you will quote then. Peace
