Pls what's the difference between 2: 1 and 2: 2?
Pls I really need to know
in a class of degree
>>1:1 means first class honour. To graduate with first class, you must be an A student.
>>2:1 mean second class upper division, to graduate with 2:1, your academic grades must be mostly A's and B's, and u have to be consistent.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>while 2:2 simply means second class lower division, in other to graduate with 2:2, your academic grades are mostly C's, some few B's and D's.
>>while 3:1 3rd class now simply pass, their academic grades are mostly D's and few C's.

In other to graduate with either 1:1 or 2:1, you need to sacrifice yourself a bit.

I think that's it.

Brother, not really religion, it is the grace of Almighty God that connects/position someone to the right place, you know what, I graduated from Laspotech with Lower credit in 2009, jobless for few years later got a job in Lekki in 2017 with just 70kpeanut, 1year later I was promoted to head all the department in the company, my salary is x6 of the previous pay and I have 3 first class graduates working under me, in fact I was the one that employed them, the grace of God is ever sufficient, it does not need your degree or any qualification

Best comment ever!!!!!

So happy to see a comment like this... don't mind Op, this is how they mislead ppl and kill the self esteem of those innocent graduates.

Most of them do not know what labour market is all about, they will just start typing anything that comes to their hand.

In the real sense, most companies do not care about ur grade any longer ( tho, few still do) majority of them are after u making money for them.
Most of us decide to make the money for yourself.

If you like graduate with 1.1,2.2,3.3 or even 9.9, if you can't help yourself, if you don't have someone to help you, and most importantly, if your have not discovered yourself, you are in deep shit.

The last part got me, now discovery of one's self is power. But how does one go about self discovery, that's the problem.

1st Class and 2.1 is the reason many intelligent graduates are having slow career growth. You get your first job at age 25, promotion at age 28, the next promotion at 32 and so on and so forth. Before you know it, you've clocked 50.

Your mate with a 2.2 knows it's hard to get an entry level job due to stiff competition. The smart ones go for small jobs, build capacity and required competencies or go for Masters immediately after NYSC, get a small paying job. Five years later they come to your company as experienced hire and way above your own grade.

That's the story of many folks that I know.

Summary: It's not how far BUT how well!

N.B: Your class of degree becomes irrelevant after 3-4 years of working.

Yeah, because the 1.1 and 2.1 who got in there in their mid-20s would not upgrade themselves. undecided

Just do your Masters and it overtakes the 2.2...do a PhD and it replaces the Masters...pair with Relevant Certifications and work place experience and that dream job, would still be possible.

Not in all organisations. Some if not most organisations state that the first degree must be a 2.1 at minimum, so whatever you add is your cup of tea. An instance is KPMG.

this is the advice you only give to you and your family membersundecided

just because you came from a poverty family and graduate with 2.2 doesn't mean you can start writing rubbish to Console yourself!

the system we have in Nigeria is "who know who" even those who came out with first class are still in the street looking for job! undecided

I have seen many pass or third class grade in a high position and making waves?

your stupid president Buhari and his cabinet crew check them out. them didn't comes out with any grade not talkless of passed grade but look at them making stupid rules and laws to suppress imbec1le like you undecided

if you have brain enough which I know you don't have, you will see that this system is so fvcked up that the rich are trying to suppress the poor by making rubbish law that favours them!

why is the outside world system so good that you will be thinking of leaving this shit hole? undecided
do they have ten heads?

so give this humble advise to you and your fvcking families since you have already decided that you won't make it!

am still wondering what this guy did wrong to warrant all this vile an tantrums u threw at him.... Can't you pass ur message across with civility without resorting to insult an name-calling... SMH

I know you would mention business establishments like bet shops etc. you should know that business establishments are different from business endeavours. This man simply tries to gather money via crowdfunding, hoping that people would pay for his registration and enrich him. And my problem with this type of people is that; after they bamboozle individuals into—maybe selling properties or collecting loans to join their investment schemes, they’d ruin them and leave them high and dry, before moving on to the next victim without conscience. A shame.
You may be right anyways, but try get my point...

I said I don't know for him, but genuine business that can earn you such amount still exist.. unless you haven't discover it...

It entails focusing on what you are good at, where your passion lies, (most importantly in the generation of income), what do you consistently do happily, even you were not to be paid...etc.
