i know you are probably saying this in good faith but there are a few errors in what you said.

a. The bible ACTUALLY said we should pick wives and husbands for our children
b. Just because you helped me doesn't mean i have to marry you. The people your wife is helping in the UK, they are not marrying her are they?
c. If Lola was actually helping them that much as you said, then the twin brother should not have issues with her because he too, was part of the band
d. the bible also said not to disobey parents, so if it's true what you said, then Lola's husband is at fault in the eyes of the bible.
e. most Igbos marry outside the tribe ... it's not encouraged, but it happens. like me, my mother is not Igbo, and the rest of my family did not have issues with her. if what you say is true, then Lola might not have covered herself with glory in the eyes of the family.

i think there is some truth to what you said about the origin of the issue, but it goes much deeper.
