If I recently changed my schedule from Lagos to Abuja, do I need to change the location on my DS-160 before requesting for an expedited interview?

I’m sorry man. Would have added one more Nigerian to the UNCG Naija community. Please, book another date asap.

UNCG:
My Transcript.
Lagos.
November, 13th.

VO: Where are you going to?
Me: I'm going to the University of North Carolina, Greensboro for a Master's in Information Technology and Management.
VO: What would you do with this course?
Me: I want to solve the problem of food distribution. This program, information technology and management with a concentration in supply chain will ensure I am trained to apply information technology, data and systems to the food chain, to ensure the supply matches the demands. (Looking back, I should have mentioned that I have a background in Food Engineering).
VO: It seems you've really researched this.
Me: Yes, I have.
VO: Why this school?
Me: Asides being offered funding, this program is unique. Information Technology and Management with a concentration in supply chain management. I'll be getting a technical education and also a business education which is perfect for my career interest.
VO: What other schools did you apply to?
Me: University of Florida and Pennsylvania State University.
VO: Pennsylvania. I see you have funding. What is it about?
Me: I was offered graduate assistantship and would be working as an instructional assistant.
VO: Who is paying the deficit?
Me: My uncle.
VO: Where does he stay?
Me: Lagos.
VO: What does he do?
Me: He operates a big medical diagnostic laboratory.
VO: Are you Married? Kids?
Me: No
VO: Your application is denied. Take this paper?

BSc: Food Engineering
Funding: $26,000+
Deficit: $11,000+

I cannot 100% recall the conversation and I tried to put it down as best as I can recall. My VO was at stand 6 and the two people before me were rejected.

Looking back, it is easy to say I should have said this or I should have responded this way but I responded to the best of my ability. My profile is good and the questions he asked were generic so I'm totally confused about the reason for the rejection. He did not ask for bank statement or any other document.

I'll pay another appointment fee but this time I'll choose Abuja.

Exactly the same thing I told her coz that's what I've been seeing on all transcripts that have been posted on here.
So, her fear now is she's not sure how the VO will react seeing that she's using a different sponsor in that short time after she was denied.
Abone2:
I think the usual advice regarding SOA is to ensure that the balance is at least 2x the requirement on i20. Also, personal accounts are often preferred to corporate accounts.

Hello I just replied your mail. Please check. Thank you.

Good day dear nairalanders. I'm completely new and would need your counsel my elders.
I just got admission with Wright State University for MSc in biomed enginering, To start Jan 11th. Its so short a notice for me to wrap up work issues and apply and get a visa. My plans were that the Spring admission would be in March or so.
However, if I can tidy up work and other domestic issues, my questions:

1) How possible is it for me to obtain a visa before my orientation start date of 5th Jan
2) How can iI be better prepared for a successful interview.
3) If i choose to defer, what are the implications especially with scholaarship obtained?

Note, I was given about 1/3rd tuition scholarship and I have only my 1year total fee( balance of tuition + living expenses) in my account as I am self sponored.
Thanks and awaiting your propmt response

Good morning all,

I filled Lagos in my DS 160 form and rescheduled to Abuja today. Do I need to update my ds160 form to reflect Abuja because I still have more than one month left to the interview.

Also in my DS 160 form, I picked January 4th as my intended arrival date. My appointment is January 8th. What do I do?

Thank you.

Please house, a friend of mine needs help on what to do;

She was denied Visa last month. Her sponsor's account is a corporate account with the exact amount as with her 1 year estimated cost.
Now, she will be having her second interview in December but she's contemplating on whether to get a statement of account from someone else with a personal account and a higher available balance or she should stick with the initial statement she took to the previous one that she got denied. She doesn't have any funding from the school.

Please, everyone's contribution is welcomed to this as she's very confused about what to do. Thanks in anticipation.

I think most times its advisable to have a SOA with x2 of what the cost of attendance is. Also how was she able to get another date after denial?

Is Personal Statement the same as Statement of Purpose?

My recommendations, can they just all be professionals? I have left school for a while now, getting academics math not be exactly smooth.

Lastly, having a wife and a kid, is that strong enough for hometie?

Is anyone applying to or in Texas Tech University here? I'll like to ask some specific questions.

Yes, you need to update your DS160 form, then print out the new appointment confirmation letter which should show Abuja as the new location. The new location must reflect.

You picked Jan 4th as your intended arrival date: When did your school tell you to report? If it's not on the 4th or 8th, you have no reason to worry as long as you tell the VO about not being able to get a close date before 4th Jan(only when asked).

You have been denied getting an emergency date or?

I believe you must have paid your visa fee already. If yes, you need to fill in the DS160 form, book any appointment date you see on your screen. After that, go ahead and fill in the emergency request form, ensure you upload the most relevant documents as an evidence and input the reason why you need an emergency appointment.
After submitting your request, you'll get an email from the Consulate (the email may come in immediately or after some hours, depending). This email will confirm if your request is approved or denied. I hope it's approved though but if not, you have to stick to the initial date or maybe you can choose to pay for another MRV fee.
