If you reported to LG after few months that the TV is bad and LG agreed to a refund and you have evidence, and for some reason you weren't able to come within the the warranty period, for the mere fact that LG has certified your claims and has agreed evidence for a refund means you are still entitled to it.

2 things are causing this issue that would have been solved if only the 2 parties communicated better and maturely.

1) The client agreed to the terms and agreements of the job and even deposited part of the agreed amount but later attempted to manipulate the process by requesting for reduction in price and spare parts, which went against the initial agreement.

2) If, and as at when, Gazzuzz accepted to yield to the customer's wishes on reduction/use of parts brought by the customer, he should have clearly stated if the parts, oils, reduction in agreed price of labour etc, were still captured under the 3 months warranty or if not, should have been expressly stated/defined.


Going forward, I humbly suggest that all parties drop the egos and aggressive posture in order to reach a favourable end to this matter. Since Gazzuzz made the offer for a full refund to which the customer declined, then, I think the onus is on the customer to offer better provision for an ample solution that is acceptable to both parties.


Business is like this, we just learn from these sort of experiences.

Let's say for some reason, maybe you were sick or something and come after the warranty period with a proof that LG has already agreed to refund/replace, of course they will honour their agreement.

The social media thing is mere banter. He's here because he's tried all possible means to resolve. Don't let your customers get to this point. It does more damage to you as a brand. There's a reason big firms settle out of court.

You met the condition at the point of certification as they agreed that yes have a real case and you are entitled to a refund. They even gave you a date to come for your refund only that for some reasons you missed your appointment.

Using your analogy, let me show you how absurd this is. Let me stretch it.
So you buy a box black and white tv from lg in 1988. 6 months and 2 days later (warranty is exactly 6 months), you write LG claiming the TV is defective.
LG gives you goodwill and tells you to bring it in for refund within one week.

After 20 years, you wake up and go to social media to report LG for not honouring their "goodwill" gesture of 20 years ago?

Sequel to the thread created by Baba40 I wish to clear the air.

1. I entered into a contract to replace the engine, fluids and radiator for Baba40

2. The vehicle was recently purchased by baba40 prior to meeting me and was massively abused.

3. A Foreign used engine was procured and installed with a 3month warranty or 3000km which ever comes first.

4. I did not receive any complaints from Baba40 until after the expirations of his warranty.

5. The procured engine in the market where it was sourced comes with a 1 week warranty and not a money back guarantee. (They will fix and not replace in the event of failure).

6. As a responsible entity we stick our necks out for our clients because we stand by what we sell.
We give long warranties so in the case of failure the client is covered.

7. I was contacted on the 4th month and after over 3,340km that engine installed on baba40's vehicle suffered oil burn.

8. As a responsible entity I offered him a window of full refund for expense made on engine procurement and installation . The window was 24hrs.

9. Baba40 Did not respond to my offer, but rather insulted me further.

10. 3weeks after the offer elapsed he opened the thread above.




I have sold and installed hundreds of engines to nairalanders on this platform. Over 99per of the time it turns out well without issues. There are times it does not. This is possibly one of those cases.

In the past i have fully refunded aggrived clients for all funds expended as written in the invoice (fluids, labour , logistics, and parts) and also installed their old parts back, I can call out 2 nairalanders that have received this gesture this year. Business is not all about money but about having a good name and brand.

Did the contract specify a refund within a timeline? That is what you should ask. Go back and read my post again maybe you will understand it better this time. You are entitled to lay claims with a specified period. That's different from the actual refund when agreed. The seller could agree but still might not have money to process the refund till after the warranty period. Does that invalidate the refund?

Go to the market and search for any workshop that will give you 3months Warrant, or 3000km on an engine replacement, and still offer a refund without an inspection.

I will never visit a workshop that fixed a Tokunbo engine that only lasted 3 months. You knew that engine had a bad piston. You fixed the piston knowing it would only last a few months before it spoils again.
